Thought he was brilliant today, his link up play was great and the shot that led to Rooney's goal was a great effort, as well as the one that hit the post.

Was the cross for Young's header his? Because that was a cracking ball.

Peach of a cross to Young when it should be the other way round (and reckon Chicha himself would have converted that). Great to see him improving his all round game

Good grief did we just watch the same game? While I do thing young Hernandez has a great future ahead of him, I'm sure he would like to forget this game as soon as possible.

I am still completely at loss as to why SAF refuses to play Berbatov, who oozes skill and is second only to Rooney in my opinion.

Because Berbatov doesn't suit our style of play.

Unlucky that he didn't score today.

Berbatov would have simply slowed our play down. Rooney, Young, Welbeck and Evra bombed forward so much today and Berbatov would have slowed it right down. Hernandez didn't score today and wasn't at his best, but he does all the right things, and it will come for him. He suits our style of play so well.

Berbatov is a better player than Hernandez, but he generally doesn't suit our style of play. Hernandez compliments Rooney well, and can link up with him when they play together. Berbatov isn't as effective when it comes to this.

Today is the sort of game that would've been perfect for Berbatov, but it doesn't mean that he should automatically be started.

Because he's not second to Rooney and proved that on far too many occasions. To be 2nd to Rooney you have to provide more than a chunk of goals in 2-4 game spurts. It's all about the over all performance and too many times Berbatov doesn't show it.

I'd rather give Hernandez and Welbeck the time because they actually have a future at the club.

Definitely improving rapidly! Some of the touches are still a bit off but he is coming along nicely. Great player to have in the squad!

Yeah, it's really noticeable! He could surprise us all and become a very complete forward yet. He keeps showing signs here and there of improving various attributes; he just needs to put it all together.

The best thing about Chicharito, is that the sole thing on his mind is getting goals. That
s what sets him apart from the rest of the strikers at the club. His link up play is improving, which is really great, but his appetite for goals is really important.

Not just scoring goals, but who he scores against is what makes him a vital player. He's a consistent, natural big game changer, something Welbeck or Berbatov aren't

Great to see him back amongst the goals today. His 2nd was very well taken after the brilliant build up play.

It is obvious he has not reached last seasons heights, but this is not a bad 2nd season syndrome -

12 goals from 19 starts and 12 sub appearances

Am I right in thinking right now Chico's only 3 goals short of his 2010/11 league goals total?

His second goal was class. Anyone who kicked a ball once or twice knows how difficult that shot was.

His 50th PL appearance and two goals. It's his 23rd goal in PL.

He made the second easier than it was. Catching it on the half volley and finishing it was brilliant. So glad he got that after being pretty much taken out in the first half with the forearm.

He's a great goalscorer, but lets admit that his overall performance wasn't great.

We need to fuse 2 cells from Chich and Danny and implant them in a willing female fan. Then wait 20 years.

I'm more confident of Welbeck developing the goalscoring habit than Hernandez becoming a good all round footballer. But we're not suffering up front anyway.

If you think his play apart from his goals was good then I won't argue. You obviously saw the game differently.

united did damage on the run and when he did pick the ball up he did as well as welbeck , they both tried a few trickier passes but they both did well.

Why should I separate his goalscoring from anything? He's there to convert chances while utilising his strengths in movement; that should be the main criteria of judgement for a player of his type and purpose.

He had three shots in total, all of them on target and bagged two goals. That's outstandingly clinical.

He's a great goalscorer. So was Ruud, and a much better footballer, but Saha displaced him.

Hard to believe how much moaning people do about his all-round play. Who gives a feck? He's a goal-scorer, he's here to score goals. He scores goals, quite frequently. I would imagine our scouts knew all about his abilities and weaknesses when they recommended him, I imagine he was signed because of his finishing ability. Can we not just be happy that we have a striker who can stick the ball in the net on a regular basis?

Exactly. If he scores on a regular basis, but does little else then I won't complain.

Well I give a feck about his first half performance which regularly saw our attacks break down and turnover possession. Rooney was just as bad in the first 20 minutes. There's a reason why Fergie described it is an ''ok'' performance. Watch the game again up until Zubar got sent-off. Very average and the two up front were most at fault.

But will Fergie? I'm not denying his abilities - he's an asset.

The issue is his future. Will he be a regular starter, or play a more limited role? Is the subs bench his destiny? If he's prepared to settle for that.

He's shown he can score goals easily whether he's a starter or a super sub. He's full of goals, and he'll keep scoring goals.

His goal-line defense was awful, and his seal dribbling skill leaves much to be desired.

What like our second goal which started with him picking the ball up after we cleared their corner and him spreading it wide to Rooney?

A five nil away win, two goals for Hernandez, from three shots, all of which were on target, and we're moaning about his link up play. He's not a link up striker, if that's what we wanted Berbatov would play every week. He's a goal scorer, who scores goals. Lots of them. Important ones too. Be grateful that he's here and not sticking them in for a rival team week in week out.

He will start his fair share of games. He works brilliant with Rooney, his goalscoring record is very impressive and he is the type of player who could be useless for 89 mins yet still pop up with a vital goal in the last minute.

Hernandez's game relies on the service he gets and if he gets good service he will score goals. His off the ball play is improving, it's not as good as Welbeck's but his finishing is the most lethal in the PL alongside RVP. If all he does is score goals then so be it, goals win games and he has won us many games with his goals.
