Wow, he really is utter shite these days.
I call him Jon Hart now because I feel it's too respectful using his real name.
Fear not, his real name is Charles.
Yep, and the sad part is, it’s probably a safe bet he goes.
Remember when people said he was better than DDG?
Remember when press claimed we wanted him to replace DDG?
I still remember the day when de gea was going through a tough time at utd when he first joined and was gradually improving. Joe Hart was an established keeper the next big thing at city. Me and my Liverpool supporting friend had an argument and I said I'd take de gea over Hart anyday he laughed at me I said you wait and watch. Bless the fat Liverpool supporting friend now hahaha. Joe Hart is utter crap.
Hart was excellent for a couple of seasons and even Fergie publicly lamented not signing him from Shrewsbury when he had the chance He has declined massively in recent seasons. I don't know if his reactions have slowed or what.
There is simply no way he should be anywhere near an England squad call up, nevermind actually being our number one!
It really is a farce now.
Butland is a way better keeper than he is, and he should be our number one.
Totally agree he was a great talent. last 4 years he has been dire. He just seems too pumped up all the time! Could that be an excuse for his decline? He was shocking last season at torino and made error after error which were very embarassing.
Think that was just City fans to be Honest. Most City fans think Bravo & Ederson are better than DDG. You could have them both in net at the same time & they still wouldn't make half the saves DDG makes.
Hart is trading off his name & is no longer a PL level keeper. If City could get anyone to take him they'd let him go on a free.
What a load of bollox, I know of no city fans who think bravo is better than DDG, there are a fair few who think Ederson could get better than DDG but again I don't know of any
Surely he's making the same mistakes in training too no? It can't just be a lack of focus in matches.
But if that was the case how would he get picked?
It is weird how he's just stagnated though, especially considering he was receiving top level training....and yet they never managed to stop him conceding goals at his near post....
Hart is still only 30, he's a year younger than Neuer, so I find it surprising that he's declined so much. Maybe he relied too much on his reflexes (which is usually something you'd expect from a shorter goalkeeper).
Maybe he's just lost all his confidence.
There are plenty of good shot stoppers around who's still not good keepers. Heurhelio Gomes is one example, brilliant shot stopper but average at goalkeeping.
Hart was always only a good shot stopper, now that his reflexes has abandoned him he is exposed as the below average goalie he always was.
It's safe to say that when you look at their careers as a whole, Bravo was better than Hart, even if he didn't exactly show it in England.
It should also be noted that Bravo was 33 when he moved to England in 2016. Hart is 30 and already has declined.
People age physically at different rates, the differences can be quite pronounced too.
That was this very Summer.
Terrible keeper nowadays, I'm beginning to think West Ham are above his level and he probably deserves to be in the championship whether with West Ham or not.
Guardiola got absolutely slated when he dropped Hart when on his arrival at Man City but it goes to show you how right he was at the time.
Really do fear for us in the World Cup if Hart is still number 1, can see a cock up from him costing us massively.

I'm surprised Hart was able to grab his hand given it was on his lower left side.
Hart was ok last night, but my god he's awful with a ball at his feet, blatantly obvious why Pep got rid on last nights performance.
He has been OK for England recently but very poor for West Ham, he has let in goals that a keeper simply shouldn't let in this season. His kicking was OK last night, he hit a couple of decent long passes. It is bringing the ball under control from pass backs that he seems to really struggle with at the moment, he gets closed down because of it.
I think Pickford should take the number one spot. He is a work in progress but he is showing a lot of promising signs and looks a better shot stopper than Hart at the moment.
I can see us being shit enough for any goalkeeping blunders to not actually matter.
No idea why he's even being selected for England.
Pickford. Butland. Forster. All better and less hapless than Hart. He's a terrible goalkeeper.
The woes of Joe Hart wouldn't be half as bad if the media hadn't built him up into being a genuinely world class keeper and without his self-styled image as some kind of hard man/legend. And the shampoo stuff. I know as a United forum we're hardly going to love a former City player but there's obviously so much to dislike about him.
On topic his performances have been average to poor as far as I've seen and I agree it's clear why Pep binned him.
So so poor with the ball.. disaster waiting to happen on that front. He's a prehistoric keeper and needs to be binned asap. Shame really as on the basic goalkeeping skills he's pretty solid despite flak he gets but you can't have a goalkeeper who can't pass it out or control 5 yard passes.
To be fair Hart around 2013 was a very good keeper. In the Valdes tier of keepers.
He has declined though. Which seems to be an English keeper thing. In 5 years butland and Pickford are going to be half as good as they are now. Like how David James, Rob Green, Paul Robinson etc became
I agree he was a pretty great stopper, and that for whatever reason he's struggled even with that core skill this season.
But as a package I never thought he was all that. His distribution has always been subpar and he has that erratic streak, due in my opinion to him wanting to prove what a badass he is, that would occasionally leave him in the shit.
As for the English keepers since Seaman we've struggled to keep a guy consistent for more than a few years. I think Pickford has been unlucky in finding himself in terrible teams his entire professional career and Butland I rate. Particularly in the case of the latter I'm hoping we've a chance of getting a good consistent keeper soon but as you say we've not had it for a while (see Forster as well this season).
He is this generations Shay Given, but not as good.
He is so bad.
Was one of the most overrated GKs ever during his City stint, but now he's at his own level.
Don't know why Southgate doesn't give the number 1 spot to Pickford, regarding he is in the mood of giving young players a chance.
He's a crap keeper. Good shot stopper but only for certain types of shots. Hopeless at most other things.
I remember seeing City play once while he was there and he was doing a kick out warmup with Pantilimon. Pantilimon nailed every kick out straight to Hart, Hart's were all over the place.
Is he still playing for England? He should have been exiled after the Euro's, I've not seen anyone have a tournament that bad in, well ever.
It looks like it is tipping that way currently. Pickford is still learning though. Arguably Butland should be no 1.
Yup, just thinking if he is in the mood of building a new team, don't see how Hart can be the future.
You could argue Hart brings some experience of senior tournaments, which is useful even when you're trying to bring a new crop of players through. I agree with you though, first and foremost you want competency between your posts and Hart looks finished. Butland or Pickford should be given the chance to make the position their own.
