In his post match interview, bigging up Rashfords mentality and said this.
Martial for sure.
Is this a message to Mourinho?
If it's directed towards Martial then it's absolutely deserved.
He did seem to be really going at Martial just before ET.
Would be a strange thing to take a shot at Martial just after winning a crucial match. What was the context?
Edit: Or any other player for that matter. He should just enjoy the moment and handle these things behind closed doors. Why would he involve the press? Strange man management IMO.
Luke Shaw, probably. Jose called him out early in the season for not closing down the attacker, he did the same thing twice today. The first one was the goal, and the second one we nearly conceded from at the end.
Can't he win a game without throwing someone under the bus?
So much for Jose not playing youth. If he thinks a player is good enough and he trusts them, then it's clear he'll develop youth as we see with Rashford.
Think its more to make a point then shift blame tbf
Well he didn't name anybody.
He said before the game that he expects more of Martial and gave Rashford as an example. He gave him a chance today and he didn't really show anything different.
I didn't watch the post-match interview though.
Never said he did, he surely has someone in mind with the words he used.
It's really really annoying. This is not the time to go around berating someone. If Jose played FM, his team talks would lead to the worst team morale ever.
It's a bloody soap opera.
Clearly talking about Martial and Shaw.
Yep. Getting harder and harder to defend Martial.
Shocking lack of effort
Who has he "thrown under a bus"? Stop being such a drama queen.
Any comments on Zlatan's shocking performance? No? Not surprised.
Obviously but it's not throwing someone under the bus when he's not saying who he's talking about.
I can't judge Martials commitment off the pitch and in training but when Martial plays during the game he looks fecking drunk.
What, future Mourinho?
"Throwing under the bus" probably what gets bandied around most often now
You expect him to slag off a guy whose season's just ended through injury?
More comments against a player to deteriorate his confidence even further when he actually does get to play like tonight. Great man-management.
Just a throwaway comment that the drama llamas will lap up.
Martial looked like he was trying a lot more in the 2nd half of ET after the bollocking he got.
Drama queen? What are you, 16? Do you see other managers continually calling out players in their post game interviews? If he is so prickly even after wins I can't imagine how desperate he's going to get if/when we go through another lean patch.
So he's not throwing anyone under the bus.
Except a perfect finish (before he was flagged offside) with his first chance whereas rashford ibra and co seem to need about 10 chances before they hit the back of the net..
If Mourinho from the future threw Mourinho from the present under the bus, would he cease to exist in the future or would there be a time paradox in which the future Mourinho still exists?
Expecting maximum effort and desire isn't throwing players under the bus, in fact I'm sure the majority of United supporters would expect that from their players.
At this point isn't it obvious what he wants?
You run through a brick wall for the team you're in, you don't you're not. I find it impossible to defend any player who struggles with that.
Sure, whatever helps you sleep tonight. He's shitting rainbows and strawberries.
He's throwing his future self under the bus, just in case things go wrong.
Come on mate, you can't argue that Martial has been playing well. The difference between Rashford and him is quite clear.
What am I supposed to do with a line of text with no context? There's no point in reading a line like this without listening to the whole interview.
Indeed bunch of pussys
Separate names with a comma.
