Easy now. Frenkie had the likes of Kroos, Modric, and Pjanic chasing shadows at the highest level.

Havertz did the same against Bayern. How much have you seen of Leverkusen, especially since Bosz took over? I love de Jong as much as anyone but watch Havertz on his day and you'll see what I mean.

@Zehner do you think he meant that though? I think he’s gone to control it and take it infront of him and between his studs and the grass it’s jumped up and lobbed the keeper far post.

He is someone that I’ve sort of been keeping an eye on and when they are on I watch them and last few times I’ve seen them he has looked something quite special. 14 league goals is it this season.

Not really sure where he would fit in for United and although quite different I can’t decide who I prefer between he and Aouar. Obviously Havertz height would be a handy tool to have in the league.

I quite like Tah as well but seen some incredible defending from him and then stuff Phil Jones would be ashamed of.

I can't attest to seeing any of Leverkusen's football, unfortunately.

At the risk of sounding like one of those 'your league isn't good anymore' posters, there is a fair gulf in quality and expectation between the Bundesliga and the latter stages of the Champions League.

No denying Havertz may well be a phenomenal talent, and one who may end up superior to De Jong, but De Jong is a fair bit more accomplished at the very highest level at this point in time.

Not sure if he meant it but I wouldn't rule it out. Don't think he wanted to control it. He definitely wanted to score there but whether the curve was intended or not is hard to guess.

Tah is a weird case since I feel he has degressed. When he was around 20, he was immense and barely made any mistakes. But he probably should've taken the step to a big club back then because he couldn't develop much further while being with us. Now he suffered under some bad coaching and has had some blunders. He's improved his build up though. But so far he seems to have sorted that out. Very consistent in the last matches.

Don't really think that's the case. Bayern has degressed, yes, but that's about it. Dortmund has a young team which is still very inconsistent and Tottenham faced them in a phase of bad form. The teams behind those two are as good as they were 3-5 years ago though. Look at Frankfurt's European run. I think some will be surprised how good they are when they see them against Chelsea.

You really should watch us play when you have the opportunity. Bosz has completely transformed this team. We regularly have 75+% possession, are playing with three technically strong and offensive midfielders at once with Brandt, Havertz and Aranguiz and have some great combination plays. If you can, just rewatch the first 15-20 minutes of us against Dortmund and I think you'll see what I mean. We've been quite unlucky in many games under Bosz resultwise but the potential is there for everyone to see.

Here's quite a good video of Havertz' season:

Unfortunately I can't find any good videos of Brandt (German copyrights..) but here are at least some impressions:

And kind of a weird but good video if you ignore the boy in the corner. The original video isn't available anymore as it seems..

I’m pretty sure it’s come off the underside of his boot and somehow just bounces up as I think he has meant to trap it and just have enough travel on the ball so when he clears that defender he can take it on his left. I only saw a couple of poor angled replays but even if it did come off the top of his boot I just don’t see how the ball does what it does given his angle.

I wonder if it’s due to Sancho but he seems like a player who has really gone under the radar when you think there would be a lot more noise about him.

Not really a Brandt fan myself, he’s good but don’t think he would be a good fit for United.

I think Brandt would help you a lot. You don't really have a player that is as good at one twos and dribbles in small spaces. As I said, Brandt is our best player under Bosz and arguably the player of the season. As good as Havertz is, Brandt was even better in the second half of the season.

And rightly so in this case. He’s almost nailed on for Bayern. If not I expect Klopp would be too great a pull for us to overcome.

How does he compare to Goretzka who has a similar profile and was supposed to be the next big thing in German football?

That didn't go so well, at least, so far.

They are nothing alike. The only thing they have in common is that both are dark haired and rather tall young German CMs. Goretzka's main asset is his physique and dynamism but his technique is nothing special. He's your vertical box to box midfielder. Havertz on the other hand is characterized by his technique and passing ability. Goretzka is a midfielder for a team like Liverpool, Havertz for City. It's like comparing Gerrard and Iniesta.

Brandt reminds me a little bit of a young Eriksen at Ajax. Makes it look effortless with nice technical ability, covers a decent amount of ground as well, would love him here!

I'd love if you could wait with that for one or two additional years and then save us from having to see them in a Bayern shirt :D

Eriksen is a good comparison but Brandt is less of a typical playmaker and a little bit more direct than him. He's not about distributing the ball but more about dribbles, skill moves, one twos and combination play in tight spaces and at full speed. Eriksen for me is a typical Pep player, Brandt would fit perfectly into Sarri's Napoli side.

That'd be amazing. Given our issues at CB, Tah would be an especially great acquisition but you just know that we'll wait for him to move to Dortmund and then make 100mil bids

The more I see of him the more I want him but I really just don’t see where we would play him. See he’s played on the right a couple of times but looks a lot better through the centre. If we played a diamond he might be intresting.

Surprised he hasn’t been linked with PL clubs yet. Think I heard Voeller say they are determined not to sell him to another German club. I’ve seen very little of him but can’t he play in a midfield three as a sort of #8?

That's just the media misinterpreting his position. Havertz hasn't played as a RW under Bosz in even a single game. We play a four man midfield with two CDMs and two 8/10 hybrids with Havertz being one of the latters

Following him for a while now, especially when Pogba leaves he needs to come in. He is just so present in every aspect of the game; goalscoring, assists, technique, pressence, creating, build up play, playmaking, two footed, strength, height.

I think he can play great as false 9, a bit like Ajax played this season with Tadic and how Liverpool plays with Firmino. Martial and Rashford as the two strikers/wingers.

Brandt is the other 8/10 hybrid. Bailey played as a left winger but didn't impress since ~1.5 years.

Both him and Brandt would be brilliant signings. Havertz has a really good goal-scoring record in Bundesliga this season (16 in 33), considering he’s only 19 and not even an actual striker.

Brandt on the other hand feels like he could be positionally moulded into something similar that KdB is for City. He’s similarly technical and dynamic, but perhaps a bit more dribbling-oriented.

Havertz is brilliant. Kind of young, expensive, but attainable quality player should be going for. If not us, some other big fish will.......and get a world class player from it, too.

The problem with Havertz is he doesn't fit our system, he plays behind the striker and typically we play with no 8 / 6's midfielders.

Unless he can do Rashford's role similar to how Klopp developed Firminho. Outside of Bayern not many top clubs in Europe play with a double pivot midfield we've seen this happen with Isco, Ozil etc.

And really, that's absurd, isn't it? Bayern continually having a free run to Bundesliga talents with seemingly no opposition from the likes of us.

Maybe he could be a false 9 in the 2 striker setup we played under Ole (Lingard role)

I haven't been as impressed by a youngsters season in the BL since Kroos for Leverkusen in 2009/10.

Great German players tend to stay in Bundesliga aren't they?

Bayern is the pinnacle of every great german player.

Would be an anomaly if he goes abroad.
