Keane CAN say what he wants about United. It's a free country, last I checked.

Obviously. Because he's "bitter." Despite constantly stating that he isn't. And praising us. Constantly.

He does say that he left under a cloud, and that he fell out with Fergie. Both are fact. Both seemingly drive you insane.

Again, why does the truth annoy you so much?

    Keane is a falcon

Sir Alex is an eagle, a fierce, kill a buffalo and pick that fecker up, and fly it to the nest type of eagle

Praising United, then tacking on that he praises United even after they hurt his feelings and that Fergie is the bestest manager, even though he doesn't get on with him.

Yep, those extras are just there for the sake of it. No bitterness at all.

The only bitterness I see here is flowing out of you.

    I've already admitted I think he's a gobby cnut.

Did someone flick your switch back to your default Lance Uttercunt mode today? You've seemed so nice of late.

It doesn't seem to me that Keano will bother to make friends with anyone anyway.

So you admit that, in fact, you are the one with the problem. Glad we cleared that up.

I actually think he'd probably be a very interesting guy to have a yarn and a beer with. In spite of wishing he'd let the whole "United hurt me, me no like Fergie" thing go I actually do listen when he speaks. He just clouds it for me with his seemingly constant sniping about the club.

I'd say he'd be a good drinking buddy. Until he knocked someone out for looking at him wrong that is.

My problem being I can clearly see that Keane is still bitter about what happened and don't let a man crush on him cloud the fact. And also that I can separate someone being a great player but still saying cuntish things about the club?

Is so, then yes, it's me with the problem.

Hate is harsh but almost agree with those sentiments. The only thing I can think of in his defense is that leaving United hurt him deeper than he let on...the langer.

    why so bitter?

We adored him as player, and we know the circumstances under which he 'left' the club.

A legend for both club and country. He doesn't give a feck about sensitive Utd fans who treat any constructive criticism with utter disdain. He's interested in the die hards who he served impeccably for many years. The fact that he walked away from a WC because the FAI were treating him and his team mates like a team representing a third world country says much about his principles. Despite what the knobs say he is Utd and Irish through and through. I only wish Rooney, despite his talents, had the drive, leadership and determination of a Roy Keane.

he's said this before we get the point he is just bitter, United did stand by Keane a lot and SAF actually helped prolong his career by talking him out of retirement when he was a alcoholic wallowing in self pity, obviously SAF knew how important to the team Keane was when he did this just like at the end he was able to realise that Keane was more trouble than he was worth which Keane brought on himself.

He's a cracking pundit in fairness. Doesn't have Neville's knack of being insightful without offending someone but can really does say what he really thinks is going on. Much admiration for him for that.

Geez man you're really wound up today. I'm not saying you can't give an opinion but you seem so revved up over something that I think is a pretty trivial matter. I'm not arguing with you. I'm just saying despite the fact that he's still holding on to it, it's not really anything new.

Just speaks to the fact that he is a man of principle.

I still dont see why you're wound up by all this. He's chosen to still hold on to that time when he was mistreated by the club but as he says, he won't let that get ahead of his loyalty to the club.

That's a strange comment considering we usually got less points over a season than we have done this one. If it had been for City's ridiculous spending (something Keane never faced) - we would have won the season by lightyears

So die hards support Keane, those who don't are just standard fans, if even that?

I take it you support Keane, therefore you're a die hard?

    *******.

Personally, I support United, with or without Roy Keane.

What are all these things he is supposed to be saying you reckon is cuntish? Your rambling on about them since this morning & haven't told us what they are.

I can just never understand the undying loyalty some people feel to certain players that the loyalty to the individual seems to overtake the loyalty to the club. It's like Keane can spout off as and when he wants and some will never view it as uncalled for. It's just Roy being Roy, or he's just saying it as it is, when anyone else would get slaughtered for some of the things he says.

Reminds me of the gimps who sang for Tevez when Fergie was giving his end of season speech. Some people get this image of a player as being above all, when the most important figure at this club is Fergie and the only thing more important than him is the club itself.

I'm sick of reading an article or a quote from Keane and seeing all this old bad feeling dredged up, and wish he would just move on from it. He's one of our legends and he taints his legacy, as far as I'm concerned, when I wish I could just love him for the player he was without the negativity when he talks about the club. Some might say he isn't bitter but it's clear to me that he is, and if he isn't then surely he must see how bitter some of the stuff he says comes across. I know the press looks for stories, but he only answers whatever questions he wants to, and how he wants to answer them. If he never wanted to talk about the leaving issue again he'd never have to. The fact that he's quoted on it so often is an indication that he talks about it a lot. I wish he'd just let it go, he was too important a player for us for anyone to want the kind of ill-feeling he brings his own way at times.

You've read the articles as well as I have.

Here's a hint, this thread isn't the first on here about things Keane has said with regards United. It's not even the first this season.

I always try to ignore ex-player shenanigans. Ian Wright I remember for his 179 goals, 10 years of being a bit of a harmless dick I turn a blind eye to.

All I'm seeing is people reading what they want. You constantly raving on about him being a cnut towards the club despite him saying the below says it all really.

“I'd never write them off. United are still the best club, still have the best manager and the best supporters. I was pretty upset the other night when they got beaten and I don't like feeling that way because you have to try to move on. But I still have loyalty to United, no matter what way I finished with the club, or whatever my relationship with the manager might be.”

My point on that quote, as I've fecking said a few times now, was why feel the need to add the last bit in? It's a lovely sentiment, but he does his usual and sticks a little cherry on top of his platitudes by once again mentioning his fall-out with Fergie and how he left on bad terms. Only instead of a cherry it's a little turd he plonks on top.

We all know the terms he left United under, we all know he isn't on great terms with Fergie, but it's Keane who brings it up. Every single fecking time.

Seriously mate, what part of this are you not getting?

Keane and SAF are very strong personalities. Would be shocked if they agreed on everything. What I don't doubt is their love for the club.

Keane will always be a Legend to me.

I still have huge respect for him as a person. He is honest..says what he thinks. I don't always agree with him. Don't have to.

Clearly you still feel interviews are conducted at gunpoint or in front of a firing squad whereby the interviewee has to answer every question how the interviewer wants them to or they will be shot on the spot. You clearly don't grasp the concept of a footballer being able to say in an interview exactly what he wants to say, and not say something he has said time and again. If he chooses not to.

What do you think of United Roy?

"Great club, great manager, still love them"

    Nothing else to add?

"Nah, that'll do for now thanks"

You sure you don't want to mention how you left there on bad terms and how you and Fergie don't really get on?

"nah, I've talked about that plenty of times"

Are you sure now? Go on Roy, give us a quote so we can write a headline about it.

"Oh ok then, United, left on bad terms. Me and Fergie don't get on. Make sure you say I'm not bitter though, yeah?"

Not a problem Roy, thanks. Pleasure as always.

"You're welcome interviewer. You mentioned that I still like United didn't you? That bit about me not getting on with Fergie was just window dressing remember, not me being bitter"

    Don't worry Roy, it's grand.

So you want him to lie. Do you have any morals whatsoever? Is pride an alien concept to you? Do you have no self respect?

He doesn't have to lie, he doesn't have to talk about it at all. As I've said "I've talked about this enough times already and won't be drawn into it again" is no harder to say than "me and Fergie don't get on, I left on bad terms, it hurt me so"

    I have some morals.

I know it comes before a fall.

I post on here, what do you think?
