What on earth was he thinking?

Sometimes, very occasionally, I think....am I being harsh on Kenny? Then I remember shit like this. What a tit

Is it true that the owners asked him to resign more than once and he refused, so they had to sack him?

King Kenny not so stupid after all... getting all the $$ he can. He knows he wont get another job.

It's a shame Spearing is in the way, but really nothing could ruin that gif.

A shame we won't be able to use it again with Kenny as their manager.

Alan Hansen...this is why I can't take the man seriously. So much wrong with this. No mention of the Suarez-Evra affair, which means he's saying Henry and co didn't at all consider it a factor in their decision. Which I highly doubt.

Who would want him? He has been a disaster both on and off the pitch.

    :houllier:

Grant Holt for 30m and Danny Simpson for 25m? English and great stats..
Or maybe not finish with the lowest points total/league position in years.

    The caf will
    and finally

    What was Kenny doing there?

I'm surprised Liverpool fans didn't get on Gerrard's case for talking back.

The Liverpool Echo etc are laying into the owners. Baffled, he's been a disaster.

Don't know whether this has already been posted, so apologies if it has. But some scouser was on talkshite last night, saying that the owners got a right fecking grilling at their annual sponsors meeting, AGM i think. Wanting to know why the club was so long being associated with supporting a racist!

Don't know whether it had any bearing on the owners eventual decision to sack Kenny, but public image is very important to sponsors, so i can't see how that can not be a major issue for them.

Kenny has dug a huge hole for himself, and probably got what he deserved for that incident alone. You might not walk alone Kenny, but you certainly stood alone on that one!

He got away from his handlers and started wandering aimlessly around on the pitch. Gerrard told him to get off the pitch in the only way he knows how, which is coincidentally the only way Kenneth was going to understand

I wonder if the next manager will be made to get rid of Suarez, that is clearly a situation that has stuck with the owners and I'd be interested to see if they want a complete refresh over the summer.

This is hilariously batshit from Hanson. If a goal had been incorrectly awarded to Liverpool it could have saved him? He should be posting with our friends on RAWK with that kind of crap.

They don't have nearly enough quality players to be able to do that. It's a miracle Suárez has gone anywhere near them, they won't be so lucky the next time.

Appointing Dalglish was a stupid idea from the start. They had to know that if he does a half-decent job, he'll be untouchable; if he does a half-bad job, people will scream that he deserves another year.

The only way out of this for Liverpool would have been if he either had a brilliant season and that was never going to happen because he was a dinosaur in charge of a mess of a club or if he had failed utterly and miserably. Not just in the league - where he did fail in the funniest way possible - but in the cups as well.

I hope they don't get Martinez, he's a likeable guy.

It's our fault for not properly imememting a Keep Kenny @ klanfield campaign.

We at Redcafe did not use our collective might like we did during the Miss Albania campaign of 2010 or indeed KRAP which helped keep Benitez at the helm for so long.

Let this be a lesson to all on RedCafe that it's only together that we can get what we want.

Gutter indeed. He seems to have found a bit of sense in leaving the post, unless his statement was delivered at gunpoint. If he'd been as idiotic as he was in the job, he could have made replacing him incredibly difficult for the owners. Maybe he's capable of reason without a camera in his face all the time, clubs do need figures like him so long as they're in a position where they can be muted & are not the main shot callers. At least we'll always have this last year to savour.

He turned down their offer of a compensation package

Not many in the game who would do that.

It was when Reina got sent off at Newcastle, Liverpool had made all their subs and Kenny just wandered onto the pitch in a similarly awkward manor to the guy who invaded the pitch in a wheelchair last year.

If Dalglish really wanted to show his altruistic side he should take full responsibility for the disastrous league campaign (their worst in 60 years or so?). I mean there's transition and then there's a season that's obviously gone very badly wrong and lost any semblance of direction. Liverpool's was the latter. If he admitted as much he could take the pressure of the owners and the next man coming in. Instead he's already got a lot of (imo, unjustified) backing from the public and the press, especially the local media.

He should also look at the wider picture and ask himself if his stance over the Suarez case and public posturing during it was really worth it, and whether he helped or hurt his club's image (which has a knock on effect for sponsors, etc). His bizarre, bolshy attitude in interviews, even after fairly tame, uncontroversial questions, made him seem laughably out of touch.

But, of course, he'll acknowledge none of this.

Fantastic. He's leading the charge to undermine the new manager before he's even appointed.

    Class, all the way.

New manager will last 6 months.

Mourinho's on about £10M, Wenger and Ferguson about £6M. Dalglish's unpaid contract is said to be around £8M.

Absolute bullshit he didn't take his pay-off. Twitter mythology.

If he really didn't want it, he could donate it to charity or people who need it more than LFC and their multimillionaire footballers.

Perhaps an anti-racism charity, to counteract the damage he's done to that particular cause.
