What the hell is wrong with some of our ‘fans’?

We have undergone a complete sea change since Olé came in, yet some want to crucify him after a few meh performances.

Have they quickly forgotten how bad it had all got?

Have they already forgotten the PSG away game?

It CAN’T be sunshine all the time. But at least it’s sunnier than it has been for a long time. Now get behind the team and let’s look to improve for the remaining games. There’s still a hangover from previous regimes and it’s a miracle that Olé has done as well as he has so far.

Losing two in a row is a real downer so you can understand it to an extent. The FA Cup was a competition we had a real shot at winning and these players do have a tendency to bottle it when we need them to perform. Don’t think it’s anything to do with Ole.

I think mods should allow the knee jerk threads because people will bump old ones or post the same thing in other threads anyway.

I’ll start to get concerned if we put in a similar performance when we play Wolves again

We've got a 2 week rest now. After that there will be no excuse.

This place is a nightmare after a defeat. Best to avoid until the next game.

My favourite matchday-thread kneejerk was the calls to get rid of the FA Cup.

"We're losing, so just get rid of the whole competition" is some next level "I'm taking my ball home"

To be fair, what about the PSG away game was especially un-Mourinho? Have we been playing in the opposition half, starting games well or putting in 90 solid minutes for a couple of months?
More worryingly for me though, the football was noticeably better in Solskjaer's first couple of games than it has ever reached since, which would suggest the new manager/player freedom bounce effect was in full effect and has dropped off a cliff recently. Where have the triangles, one touch football gone?

I don’t think there is massive amount of kneejerk behaviour with the perception of Ole. The underlying metrics were suggesting results were flattering for a while, and now the results themselves have tailed off with the average performances continuing. There’s actually just as much evidence that Ole only has us at the level of competing for top 4, as he does competing for league and CL.

Manchester United isn’t about things being better than they were or could otherwise be. Our manager has to show that can make us competitive at the highest level to earn the job. Mugging off sides and getting a great feelgood comeback isn’t sufficient.

Fans sound look like children at times, reactionary clowns. It's a bad night, hopefully we will bounce back. It's natural to be disappointed but the threads after a defeat are utter diarrhea in here.

No knee jerk here, hope Ole can learn from this loss and move forward, but what worries me is that fact that there was no tactical response to Wolves dominating our midfield in the second half.

Solskjaer deserves criticism more for this result than the Arsenal game. The knee jerk term is subjective, those who are ringing him to be sacked than fair enough but there's been lots of meaningful debate regarding the struggles of the team which has also been evident in results that's gone our way.

There's no context to the discussions in here sometimes. Some fans just expect us to turn up and steamroller Wolves like they are a pub team, even though we have several players who have just come back into the team after injuries. We need a little time to gel again and get match fit, not to put the underperformers on the bench (or even sell them) because they had a bad day.

We looked very good under Mou in his fist couple of months here as well. The first few games under a new manager don't mean shit. Now is the time to judge Ole and it doesn't look all rosy anymore.

You can switch it around and say people are knee jerk when we win too. Or when a player scores a goal after months of being shit they are suddenly great. It works both ways. People have a startling lack of conviction in their opinions on here

Yeah evaluating him only after his first two defeats in a row, that's completely sensible.

If a span of 18 positive results can be a fluke then maybe, just maybe, so can the two negative ones.

For some people, the players are only as good as their last game. Lukaku's stock has gone up now, so at the moment he's better than being a Championship player, but I think for some Rashford has taken that position.

Most of the complaints are complaints we've heard for 5 plus years now. Not kneejerk.

The OP loves this type of threads. His last one on similar lines - We will go on a... It isn’t the end of the world - worked out really well.

It's amazing how many people are averse to having a football discussion on a football forum. Everything is either kneejerk or "not safe to go into..". People are going to react to an awful performance is an important game. This was our only chance to win some silverware this season and we hardly put an effort. How did sages imagine the ordinary mortal poster would react?

Nobody judges him on 2 games alone. We haven't looked very good for some time now and fluked some of our results. We will see how we will fare from now on but the jury is very much still out on Ole

Agree with this. I hope the board are looking at alternatives and it's also important to not let emotions dictate who gets the job in the summer.

Is Ole the right man to get United consistently compete for major trophies? I'm not so sure and I don't see anything wrong with asking quesrions.

It’s refreshing to see a Noggie with that perspective. I, obviously, love OGS and wouldn’t mind him getting a crack at the job full time but I’m sick to death of Norwegian United fans that want him to get the job just because of his passport.

I think in fairness he will be self critical of that.

He could have made changes before the second goal;recall how he took Bailly off in Paris when he was exposed.

I know our strike force is looking a bit worse for wear and we have injuries and players returning etc. However with the approach in Paris being so much bolder with young players being given a chance and Fred/Pereira on the bench they could have come on or even started.

It's the second time he hasn't coped with a well organised 5 man midfield

Give over. I’m reacting to the multiple comments on multiple threads, saying that it’s the worst they have ever seen United play.
Worse than Jose, worse than anything under Moyes, etc.
Do you only read one thread?!
The thread you quoted is an old one, so you’ve had to dig for that.

Come on, give us YOUR actual opinion!
You want Pochettino? You want a.n.other manager that has a ‘reputation’?

I’ve thoroughly enjoyed Olé and the return of attacking football.

Seems that there’s some very confused people here.

I didn't watch the game today but against Arsenal we were very good, just unlucky... Game just wouldn't go our way. No room for panic yet. Ole's got my full support.
