Don't get me wrong, Iniesta is world class player & very very consistent one.
But has he improved to what he was 2-3 years ago?

Why? He is already at the top of his game. When you are the very best of the bunch, what else could you possibly improve?

No comparison, do you know what effort it takes to write 6000 shitty posts?? After 32 league titles you get pretty used to it I guess.

When you are Iniesta, there is no room for improvement anymore. He was born perfect. As a Gunner you should actually know. Even back in 2006 he changed the whole game in the CL final when he came on after the break. People don't remember that anymore but Ronaldinho had a below par game and it was Iniesta's throughball that led to the equaliser.

I have only 1 criticism of Iniesta. When it's not a Champions League semi-final or World Cup final by chance, his finishing is Ramsey-esque. His passing isn't as "smooth" and well-weighted as Xavi's either. And that's about it. This season he was injured for like 2 or 3 months and for the rest of the time Pep mostly used him on the wings so Fabregas could play. Definitely not his best season but nothing to do with his abilities.

Definitely my favourite player to watch. Can't get any more elegant. He's floating over the pitch.

He's already more or less there, but if he's to be regarded as the best midfielder in the world once Xavi goes on the wane, he probably needs a bit more of Xavi's consistency or Fabregas' goals. Two goals in the league this year isn't a great return for someone playing sufficiently advanced in such a dominant team. Moving him back into the centre should help on both counts as he's not the type of player to cut in from the left flank and drill a powerful shot into the far corner.

Despite the party, La Liga isn't quite over. The CL places will probably go to Valencia and Malaga. Levante should get a Europa place, anyone's guess on the other one.

Racing are down. Sporting are almost certainly down. Zaragoza have somehow started winning - which leaves Villareal, Granada, Rayo still in danger - mathematically at least.

In the other competition, Messi has 46 goals, Ronaldo 44, Falcao 23, Higuain 22, Benzema 20.

Guardiola has been complaining about refs giving them penalties, "now - when it's too late." So, it'll be interesting to see how many they get in their derby match tonight.

All tonight at 9pm Spain, 8pm UK
    Athletic Bilbao v Getafe
    Atletico Madrid v Malaga
    Barcelona v Espanyol
    Granada v Real Madrid
    Mallorca v Levante
    Osasuna v Real Sociedad
    Real Zaragoza v Racing
    Sevilla v Rayo Vallecano
    Sporting Gijon v Real Betis
    Valencia v Villarreal

I hope Villarreal don't get relegated, such a great club and well run too, just having a very crappy year with injuries and Cazorla departure.

Too bad about Málaga's late resurgence, would have loved seeing Levante in the CL. Although this way is probably better for the Spanish coefficient.

Typical Atléti, blowing their chances of CL footy against Betis and Sociedad like that. Now, even if they beat Málaga they will need a Sporting that's still mathematically in it on the final day, a big ask.

Zaragoza have a slight edge over Rayo in their next two opponents, although they'll probably find a way to feck it up against already relegated Racing, now that they actually stand a realistic chance of avoiding relegation.

It's not a humiliation. If Iniesta does that to you, you should be honored to witness brilliance from up close like this and thank him after the game for it. :D

Real Madrid ultras thanked him in their own style after he got substituted in that game:

    "Death to Iniesta".

What makes the flick so amazing is the timing and the fact the ball just bounced off the floor.

if messi had at least one good offensive player, his assist number would be over 35

If it doesn't end up as a goal, it is not an assist. It is just a pass.

    You are welcome. :)

Well, he still has 29 assists across all competitions and has seen at least a dozen wasted like the Keita one.

How have Madrid been playing? I know they're fielding a weakened side, but surprised at how long the odds are on them at the moment. Only just tuned in mind.

If Malaga reach the CL, would you expect them to sign plenty of players then? Or how rich is the owner?

Been off for significant periods throughout the season. As has Xavi's, and Messi's, which is rather mind-boggling considering.

Iniesta is a bit like Berbatov fast forwarded in terms of simple yet beautiful skills although If I was gay i would rather shag Berba.

They're owned by a Qatari sheik so... probably

in fact if I recall correctly they (or maybe PSG) have spent most money on transfers this season

    I disagree. Especially not Messi's.

Xavi is fighting with calf injuries for a few months now. At least since the Leverkusen first leg game.

The owner is a billionaire supposedly, but the signings so far have been clever rather than showy. With CL football its quite possible they will seek to go up a level in terms of signings though. The Costa Del Sol is an attractive lifestyle option for players.

    Granada look up for it.

For Madrid, Di Maria and Kaka are underwhelming. Sahin and Granero in midfield look dozy. Everyone else just looks vaguely hungover. Ronaldo is alternating between underhitting and overhitting every pass.

 I was actually surprised he wasn't playing though. Surely they'll want to give him some game time now that there's nothing at stake? There's no reason not to.

I can understand Ronnie playing as he'll be chasing the pichichi, but resting Benzema and playing Higuain wouldn't do any harm.

Cazorla has really been the main man for Málaga this season, him and Falcao have been the best players in La Liga outside the top two.

Isco and Toulalan have been great as well, but Málaga really need some better central defenders, Demichelis and Mathijsen are too old and slow, and prone to mistakes.
