Massive win for Madrid
That's a biggie.
Injury time in spain isn't a minimum of minutes added, it always seems to be a maximum. Refs seem to blow a good few seconds before the 3 minutes or so are over.
3 hard fought (if barely deserved) points.
What's with the refs position. He was about 30-40m away from the ball there.
Lot's of disappointed Barca supporters after this result. In the end I thought the referee was quite good.
Im happy for RM. as much as i hate that club i really want them to win the La Liga.
He was alright, though crucially he and his assistants missed the blatant penalty when lass caught the strikers leg as he cut back inside.
As others have noted the offside was a shockingly bad call.
Saying that I didn't expect any other result.
Madrid didnt look too good, especially in the first half. Another off day for Ronaldo. They still probably deserved the win although the decisions certainly helped. Maybe 2-2 would have been fair but you have to credit Madrid, they didnt stop and got the rewards.
Anyone watching the Valencia game?
Big youth structures. People talk as if Madrid can't train young players, they can and do, in quantity - it's the jump from reserve team to first team that fails.
To give a scale to it. 18 Barcelona trained players debuted for Spain in 2000-2009 compared to 14 from Real Madrid. But 7 of Barca's players were actually still playing for Barca at the time of their debuts, whereas only 2 of Madrid's were.
Mourinho's told them that it's because the press, the fans, the agents get carried away with contract talk and demands for first team time and, in consequence, the players want to rush things.
Well, I've got it on the telly, but I can't claim it's caught my undivided attention. Real Sociedad better than normal, Valencia worse - though to be honest I've thought Soldado's form has been hiding a good few of Valencia's weaknesses recently.
Spot on, they've hit the post but I'm not confident they are going to score.
Madrid have 63 goals in 18 matches.
Barca 51 in 17.
Surely both will break the 100 barrier with relative ease.
Clear foul by Higuain for the goal.
And Real Sociedad score
Who do you think will get the 4th spot in the league?
I keep expecting Sevilla to sort themselves out, but they've not got forever to do it.
Malaga still don't have the squad depth they need, but if they get lucky with transfers this month I reckon they could sneak through.
Then there's a whole bunch of maybes.
Nobody's getting goals - a good run of form from one of the strikers will probably decide it.
What was clear about it? There were a number of us commenting on the game whilst watching and none of us mentioned it. Hardly clear then and I don't think any of use are biased Madrid fans.
Been really impressed with Isco for Malaga in the games I've seen him
What time do Barca kick off?
half past whatever hour this is wherever you are
Poor ol Ruud. Starting to look his age now
What I meant is Ruud looking great for 36
What a goal. Take a boo son.
Wow. Wonder goal for Sporting in injury time.
Yep, twas a screamer
Isco is going to become some player
Should have scored.
Tons of chances for Betis.
3 chances for Betis in two minutes..

And now it's 1-0 Barcelona. Xavi
Too easy Messi 2-0
