It's hard to escape the fact that we might be watching the best player of all time. If he can win the WC this summer it would be difficult to deny him.

This would be an interesting, intriguing contest if it wasn't for Messi spoiling it with his bloody hat trick :smirk:

You just have to hold your hands up and say, this guys too good for us. Be something of a novel experience to see Arsenal lose with grace should it happen

Clearly the best player right now, no doubt. Single-handedly gunned down Arsenal, took over after being down, thats a quality only the greatest players have

Shit, he always does his stuff in the middle, he also did this against us. I mean when he's in the middle he can either drift R or L so he is too difficult to mark.

That's probably because you've seen Maradona's career Sultan, including his peak

    Messi is 22!

Let's enjoy the ride and judge them at the end of it

More than his ability to finish his dribbling is just amazing. So difficult to tackle when he runs at you.

He never used to able to get a shot off like he did for his first goal and againt Stuggart, he would always try create space, now, what the feck can the defence do to stop him, doesn't even want space anymore.

I'm sorry, this is plain rediculous now.

Every time I see him play I agree with this thread more and more. Thumping strike, clinical finish and delicate lob. An excellent hat trick from one of the best players I've ever seen. He is literally impossible to pick up.

Messi has 38 goals already. Fat Ronaldo scored 47 in his incredible season for them. Surely Messi can get 50 this year if he stays fit.

The man's composure infront of goal is on Ruud's level, dosn't even flinch in big games, has been deciding them since he broke into the first team

Took him two attempts to beat Almunia there....sloppy. Peter Ndlovu would've buried it first time.

If Argentina and Messi have a great world cup. And although that looks unlikely right now, I still think they are potential winners it will be a very good argument for Messi being at Diego's level
