Messi just had a bad first touch.
what a player.
the gap between him and the rest of the footballing world is massive.
Wow, what a player.
I still think Ronaldo is better though
It's hard to escape the fact that we might be watching the best player of all time. If he can win the WC this summer it would be difficult to deny him.
This would be an interesting, intriguing contest if it wasn't for Messi spoiling it with his bloody hat trick
You just have to hold your hands up and say, this guys too good for us. Be something of a novel experience to see Arsenal lose with grace should it happen
Maradona must be shaking in his boots! Not even he was this consistent at the same age
Diouf is much better.
needless show boating lost the ball for an Arsenal counter attack....Average really.
Clearly the best player right now, no doubt. Single-handedly gunned down Arsenal, took over after being down, thats a quality only the greatest players have
Scoring three against an English team, must be a great player.
Not in Diouf's league though.
Imagine how good he'll be when he bulks up a bit!
He is unreal. Amazing composure.
Shit, he always does his stuff in the middle, he also did this against us. I mean when he's in the middle he can either drift R or L so he is too difficult to mark.
I still think Maradona was better.
I never watched Dona, so i'd say Messi is probably the best ever i have seen in my life time.
That's probably because you've seen Maradona's career Sultan, including his peak
Messi is 22!
Let's enjoy the ride and judge them at the end of it
Hes the best player at age 22 ive ever seen.
whether hes the best ever is yet to be determined.
More than his ability to finish his dribbling is just amazing. So difficult to tackle when he runs at you.
He never used to able to get a shot off like he did for his first goal and againt Stuggart, he would always try create space, now, what the feck can the defence do to stop him, doesn't even want space anymore.
I'm sorry, this is plain rediculous now.
He never gets injured. Would be a shame if he got injured before the end of the season.
Every time I see him play I agree with this thread more and more. Thumping strike, clinical finish and delicate lob. An excellent hat trick from one of the best players I've ever seen. He is literally impossible to pick up.
Messi has 38 goals already. Fat Ronaldo scored 47 in his incredible season for them. Surely Messi can get 50 this year if he stays fit.
The man's composure infront of goal is on Ruud's level, dosn't even flinch in big games, has been deciding them since he broke into the first team
Cal has to give him his due after this. Surely.
Maradona did it for Argentina, Messi will need to do the same.
47? feck me. Anyone know what the record is, assuming they are playing in na top league?
Took him two attempts to beat Almunia there....sloppy. Peter Ndlovu would've buried it first time.
yes. performance tonight was peerless. just scary how good he could get .... and I dont think world football has ever seen such a talent.
He's no Tim Sherwood Mockney
He's going to be the greatest, it's inevitable
this world cup will be very revealing... I hope he gets the protection he needs from referee's to showcase his talent.
Ian Woan had a better left foot.
If Argentina and Messi have a great world cup. And although that looks unlikely right now, I still think they are potential winners it will be a very good argument for Messi being at Diego's level
