Funny for two minutes. Not enough to make a whole film franchise out of it though...

Yep, Henry's no mug - he didn't want Ken Knee but a new management team as coach/DoF. He'll get Lambert and a smart boy like Nick Hammond. (Well that's what I'd do).

There's no chance Benitez will be offered the job, from what I remember hearing the current owners don't exactly hold him in high regard.

The new owners have learned their lesson by going with the fan favorite. They will now protect their investment and do what they deem best.

Isn't AVB nailed on to get the Inter job? Would be very annoying if Liverpool got AVB who despite the Chelsea fiasco will be a fantastic manager.

Would be interesting and probably a disaster. I had heard he was headed to Inter.

If the Liverpool fans and players treated Roy the way they did, they would probably do the same to AVB. He already had tons of resistance from the players at Chelsea, same thing Roy had at Liverpool.

What difference does this make? They won't be in the CL for another ten years.

Martinez is my bet, albeit I love him as a manager and would hate to root against him. Hope they pick someone stupid.

Rafa has been hanging round Liverpool like a morbidly obese vulture waiting for Kenny to die.

It's a sad day; there is no chance they are going to get a gift that keeps giving like he has. So many idiotic press conferences; so many useless signings; so thoroughly, thoroughly embarrassing.

    They'll probably get somebody half-decent.

    The bastards.

FSG should probably save themselves the trouble and just appoint Rafa. Unless it's Mourinho or someone of that ilk, nobody will be good enough to appease the Liverpool faithful.

At Liverpool, If you don't have history with Liverpool or seen as a high profile manager, you're doomed. Here's the difference in reactions from the fans:

Kenny loses to West Brom at Anfield - Net spend, Shirt Sponsors and Carling Cup means progress, so who cares.

Martinez or Lambert loses to West Brom at Anfield - Shit Manager, Shit Owners and it's a conspiracy because they are friends of Whiskeynose and were sent here to destroy us because the Mancs are scared and jealous.

Why would AVB want to coach Liverpool? He would probably be better on the continent not at a job with worse players and less money than he had at Chelsea. Plus theres no guarantee of job security with the dippers because FSG have fired three coaches in three years.

I doubt it'll be Martinez. He gets on way too good with Fergie for him to take the Pool-job and be accepted by the clubs fans. They need someone delusional, bitter and clueless. They need King Kenny.

Where does that come from? I distinctly remember Martinez (who I like) publicly supporting Benitez during one of Rafa's various rants about Fergie's undue influence in the game.

I just remember Martinez and Fergie having plenty of good things to say about eachother. I might've been wrong though, but I've always thought of Martinez as someone who gets along very well with Fergie.

Or maybe it was the Wigan chairman?

Nazi salutes to the KOP. Priceless.

We need to start an e-petition, or better still, get the scousers to start it, they love a good cause.

Doesn't mean anything other than lots of people are betting on AVB.

Generally speaking when the odds fall so much that the bookies stop taking bets its pretty much nailed on as a rule. I hope though its not true as I do rate him.

Part of me really hates this as I wanted Kenny to age another ten years so to drive Liverpool into the shitter.

BTW the above could be a load of shite as Mick McCarthy has gone from 25's to even money with some bookies for the Villa job, so what do I know.

I'd say it'll be one of AVB & Capello, as neither would require compensation to clubs - LFC's owners are tighter than James Brown's band.
