Okay okay - time out everyone! Let's get back to discussing what this thread is supposed to be about, that is Ljajic.
Whilst I'm gutted to miss out on a young, up and coming talent, particularly one as good as Ljajic seemed to me, I'm prepared to trust SAF's judgement on this one. Nor do I think that it was a financial thing and that the owner's intervened. Reasons for this view:
1. Fergie over the years has proved to be a good judge of young talent. He's made mistakes like everyone, but generally speaking, he's got most calls right. So, if he doesn't think the boy was good enough, that's fair enough.
2. I'm actually pleased we said about how Ljajic hasn't developed. For once, a football club is speaking it's mind. Too often these days, everyone is politically correct, not saying what they really think. I say good call for coming out and being honest about it. It's tough for Ljajic, but to succeed as a pro footballer, you have to be able to deal with criticism.
3. It's not the Glazer's. Fergie has said countless times before that the Glazer's haven't interfered with his running of the club. If Fergie wanted Ljajic, the Glazers would not have stopped him doing so.
Conclusion: In my view, Fergie has someone else lined up for the 10m we budgeted for him. Whether that's in January or to sign a deal in January for a player to come at the end of the season, I don't know.
Don't know if this's been posted...
United pull plug on Ljajic deal
Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson has opted against bringing highly-rated Partizan Belgrade midfielder Adem Ljajic to Old Trafford.
The 18-year-old was part of a £16.5 million deal that saw his former Partizan team-mate Zoran Tosic join the Red Devils last season and was due to team up with his fellow Serbian again next month.
The reigning Premier League champions had made moves to secure a work permit for the youngster in October, but have now decided to pull the plug on the deal.
A United spokesman said: “We had an option to buy the player but, having closely monitored his development over the past 12 months, and taken into consideration the young players emerging through the ranks at the club, we have chosen not to pursue the transfer.”
Partizan’s president Dragan Djuric, however, has denied the deal is dead in the water.
Djuric understands there may be a problem with gaining a work permit for Ljajic’s signature, but has also hinted United’s financial problems could be the reason behind the collapse of the transfer.
“I read the news in our media about the possibility that Adem Ljajic will not go to Manchester,” Djuric said.
“All this is in the field of speculation. The truth is that Manchester United has not yet arranged a work permit to our players, but so far none of them refused.
“Maybe the news came because Manchester United is in financial crisis but, believe me, we did not get anything official.”
Ferguson had previously spoken of his excitement at the prospect of adding Ljajic to the first-team squad in January and the Serb’s representative, Mladen Furtala, remains upbeat that the deal can yet be resurrected.
“As far as I know, the only problem is the work permit,” he said.
“Manchester can solve this quickly. Journalists called me, asking what was happening, but I am confident that everything will be OK at best and, that from January, Ljajic will be officially a Manchester United player.”
an ode to adem
so whens he joining?
Stan Collymore is currently on channel 5 attempting to make himself look intelligent by wearing glasses. He's failed... miserably.
Now, you may say this post doesn't belong here but then seeing as this thread has almost completely veered away from the Ljajic issue I thought it was just normal protocol.
Where's fishfingers when you need him? and I wonder how is Italian boycott is going.
Great thread though.
Then we will need a Cafe meltdown thread to monitor our sanity.
Mind boggling it is.
Yeah Weaste is very hypocritical in that bit in bold
He's a staunch supporter of OOT reds, didn't you know?
It does appear to have all gone quiet over there. Let's hope he's back to spout more of his bullshit soon
Oh and no, funnily enough I don't remember the game from when I was two, obviously. You're a funny one to be commenting on good parenting though Weastey. Does your missus know what you've been up to I wonder?
Thats actually Jay Z.
Weaste got a slapper pregnant? What thread was this in?
Collymore? Intelligent? is that 'mission impossible ?
Latest update from Ljajic on his Facebook page.
How did he update his facebook while he was playing against Toulouse?!
he went off crying ages ago brad, it was mentioned in this thread about 20 pages back
This is pretty shit all round really. How did we end up with Tosic, who we don't even seem to need / want, and ditch Llajic who is considerably a far better prospect
Got this as a PM from a newbie at 9pm. Apparently he was subbed off (allegedly in tears?) after 52 minutes. Wouldn't be surprised if he had an iPhone in the locker room. Kids these days...
Simple it wasnt him? Or he has a internet phone after being taken off
You mean Poor F*ckin cnut.
Brilliant, isn't it?
When has weaste admitted to sleeping with slags and knocking them up?
Weaste or Ljajic?
Mature attitude shown, wish him the best. You'd be pissed as hell at United if they did that to your son though.
Obviously took his laptop to the game...like ya do...
What's that suppose to mean?
feck him, he is an egoistic cnut.
you like your e-battles dont you!
shit translator site?
feck me never seen any of you behave like this over a player who has never ever played for the club you bunch of fecking girls get a grip and support THE SIDE and not one player who isn't coming to the club. Sort it out - WEST HAM away this weekend and our current side are surely more pressing issues. feck a duck.
What's the difference between Weaste and Manchester United?
Weaste doesn't pull out at the last minute
Aye, Stockport has more City fans than County
I enjoy exposing hypocrites and bullshitters
I do feel sorry for Ljajic but I'm much more worried about the message this sends out.
Never mind his parents being pissed at United, it's the parents of future young prospects we should be worrying about, not to mention the clubs they play for. The club comes out of this very badly indeed. Would you be keen to do business with United after seeing how they just behaved?

Try actually reading the thread you fecking melon, you'll realise where people's grievances come from.
Yeh thank you, it has been posted. Try flipped back about 40 pages and you'll see it.
