Done deal. A good signing for them. Still has a lot to offer.
Very excited about this signing.
Great piece of business for them.
Guessing we would have signed him had Sanchez not become available.
His 'lofty' goal will be to better Lamela's contributions. Pretty manageable I think .
Is it just me or does he not look Brazilian at all in his welcome pic?
Came into the window thinking we could get Lucas, came out of it with Sanchez. Result.
should have bought him for the cheap price ala 25 mill, as he is a proper right winger as well.
Decent signing for them.
Should've gone for him last summer instead of the overpriced Sissoko.
We did but would have had to pay £50 million apparently to get him.
Great signing for Tottenham, brings something different to their squad.
Hope he fails.
Contact until 2023
Levy really does like ball-and-chaining them up for the longest possible time to get maximum resale potential in case he comes good.
Very astute businessman.
Alexis is clearly available for a while by the look of it. It's the matter of final push to get him to us
Best of luck to him!
What a cheap signing for spurs! Great player!
Wasn’t we in for him last season and again this season?
Will certainly make spurs stronger!
It's interesting that our name was first used before Spurs signed him and Aurier from PSG.
If we hadn't signed Sanchez I would have been a little disappointed. But we do did get him so I couldn't care less. We can go for a better RW player in the summer.
Typical spurs filler signing.
Fergie wanted him and was very closely signing him once upon a time.
Shame. I'd have loved to see him at United instead. He is rapid, has quick feet, and can shoot. Albeit inconsistent like Nani.
Excellent, excellent coup for Tottenham. Shame his team will be embarrassed the same day by us.
Mentioned it in the Spurs thread but think this will turn out to be a shrewd piece of business. Has barely played all season so he'll be at full fitness just don't expect him to be very match sharp. Might take a few weeks to get the rust out of his play. But Spurs have been crying out for a player like him on the right.
Trust Eriksen to be back for this game he just had to be didn't he :/
Me too. It's really a shame that we were not in for him especially at that price and considering our barren RW position he would fit our team like a glove. And aside from his qualities on the pitch, he's a clever guy too. He learned French at PSG in quite a short period of time and his English is probably better than most of the players in Premier League too (yes, i also include some of the British players in that). That's pretty impressive for a South American player as they generally don't give a shit about learning the language of the country they live in.
Obvious upgrade on Sissoko but he'll have a tough time getting into the starting team when everyone's fit. Kane, Son and Eriksen are guaranteed starters as things currently stand, and if Alli and Lamela can reach their form from last season then they should both be keeping Lucas out. Great option to have though.
I thought he'd have turned into a remarkable player by this stage. Not Ballon d'Or material but an important part of a CL challenger and the national team. When he was in Brazil he didn't have the natural technique that Neymar had, but he was much more team-oriented and hardworking, and he just seemed more mature on the whole. He's become a much better finisher in recent years, but other than that I don't think he's developed at all. Still good for a few amazing dribbles per season though. Anyone with that kind of ability to beat a man is good entertainment value.
I'd have taken him here in the summer but Lingard has earned his chance.
Good signing for them they needed another attacking player. Good price in this market too.
Will add another dynamic to their attack. Good signing.
I think a good move for him, competing with Sissoko and Lamela. At one point was touted as one of the next big attacking talents in Europe, quite a coup by Spurs for 25mil. Im guessing it means that N'koudou guy is out the door(already sold?) and Sissoko out as well? Alli, Eriksen, Lamela, Son, Moura seems enough for a supporting cast to Kane and Llorente.
Didn't you say he isn't good enough player for ManUtd when we were linked?
Or is it way of saying he is good enough for Spurs level but not for what ManUtd are trying to achieve?
I echo the sentiments above, good luck to him.
Good signing. Isn't Lamela back now though? Good depth for RW.
This could well turn out to be a fantastic bargain.
He'd have been a squad player for us which isn't what we need. We need a first team right winger (that's not Sanchez either imo). What Spurs need was someone who can play on the right and would give them pace and a bit of trickery as they don't have anyone that fits that criteria in their squad and they desperately need their attack reinforcing as they rely way too much on Son, Alli and Eriksen and have nobody else of their caliber to rotate with. Moura could be on their level once he gets back his match sharpness. Lamela is the only other attacker Spurs have who I rate and he's coming back from a long injury.
He wasn't available that summer, Sissoko joined them in 2016.
How would he be a squad player for us when he'd instantly become our best right winger? Which isn't hard as we don't have any actual right wingers but still..
