Oh thats fine then
The article is from today. Old quotes as said though.
If there were any actual truth in this, then I'd be seriously, seriously pissed-off
And then start considering our chances of bringing in Muniain as a replacement, as he seems to be buddies with DDG - muppets gotta muppet.
Would be insane to let him go, and for £25m? unless we pluck a unknown superstar from nowhere we are not going to get a player of the same quality for that price earlier in the summer we was going to spend that on a raw youngster who may have the potential to be as good as him.
feckinell Don't sell Nani SAF
Nani cannot be allowed to leave.
Selling the only player in our team who has the ability to beat players? That practically negates the buy of Kagawa who excels in a playing system of quick passes, good first touch and creativity.. If Hazard is at 32mil, Nani who is proven at every level should command at least 40mil and I doubt we can get anyone half decent in return.
To sell Nani will be insane.Young is shit so we will be doomed.
Maybe we want to keep him but him and his agent are being greedy and leaves us with no other option than to sell him for profit?
He's not though.
Without a doubt,i hope we sell him and recover our losses like Liverpool are doing with Downing.Young is a good player for a midtable team but for a team like Utd he is extremely one dimensional and serious lacking of quality.I would rather see homeless Bebe play before Young.
Young seriously isn't good enough, for him to be considered a full time replacement for Nani.
BEtter to get Nani under contract.
I hope Bebe comes good. If only for people to stop focusing on his homeless past all the time.
Have there been any fresh rumours in the press? There's been nothing in the BBC gossip column for weeks and they print just about anything. We're really grasping at straws.
I feel like we're manufacturing this all on our own based on a very cryptic piece written by SAF, in the context of Van Persie wanting to join us.
Miguel Delaney is reportedly saying that Ferguson is fed up with Nani and that he definetely wants to sell him.
Now, if that doesn't turn out to be true, that asshole should be sacked - definetely is what it is!
Selling Nani would be stupid, simple as that.
See i dont believe that at all, if he was fed up then nani wouldnt have played and started against valarenga, barcelona and hannover, then the season opener. Doesnt sound like something fergie would do if he was fed up.
I agree! It makes little sense, hence my annoyance with the use of the word "definetely."
However, you could look at it the other way, that Ferguson was letting him play those matches to get more buyers interested, but if he was regarded shit that wouldn't make much sense as you don't want to show him off when/if he plays poorly.
I sometimes wish Ferguson was ready to step forward and dismiss these rumours like he allegedly did with the Anderson to Tottenham rumours.
No chance, people kniw what Nani can do and he had an excellent Euros, there was no need to stick him in a shop window. I mean, why didn't Berba feature then?
Imo it's all complete bollox, just like the Rooney stuff. One off game and all of a sudden SAF is fed up with 2 of his best players, nonsense.
One more thing, why do some fans (not saying I read it here) claim that Nani doesn't work hard in training? How on earth could we know such things, now based on some rumours that he is leaving? - the muppetry really is beyong all belief.
Seems to me that, indeed, you are right, Mr. always right.
He did play Berbatov a couple of games, but imo Nani is another case altogether. The player referred to be Ferguson of wanting to leave must be Berbatov.
They probably read it on Twitter. Everything on Twitter is factual.
Bebe....oh by the way I don't think he is homeless anymore....
well spotted - but I can't help but think that Fergie doesn't waste words and would've weighed it up before he spoke. Then again, could reading too much into it.
Would be seriously peeved if we lost Nani.. I don't think he'll ever develop a great footballing brain i.e. stop making dumb decisions sometimes on the ball but he's developed into a fascinating winger, one of the most exciting to watch in the world and truly unstoppable when in form... he's so capable off either foot.
Gutted if he goes put simply.
I wish these rumors would stop. I still think it won't happen but it'll be a long wait until the end of the window.
SAF has obviously learnt a thing or two about how to treat players during contract negotiations too, some players need their egos massaged, others need to be given the shock of thinking they are not a necessity. It could well be that after a poor game vs. Everton, SAF just wanted to give Nani a wee kick up the arse.
Sure, but if the rumours are true, then Nani really isn't asking too much in the world of football where inflated egoes are walking hand in hand with their inflated pay checks. 130.000 is allegedly about the same, or slightly more than Young...
I agree, but maybe SAF is shaving 10-15k a week off him by showing him that he's not indispensable. Nani's not stupid, he knows this is the best place for him & career right now. There's zero chance of a move to Russia and the window is closing for the rest of Europe, he's going absolutely nowhere, he'll sign a revised contract once the window shuts and he'll be a massive part in us winning trophies this season.
Trust me, I'm always right.
I do hope that the hype concerning your nick is true
No one is indispensable, but to me Nani is vital for our success this year. He can do pretty much everything a winger has to do, and then some. Fergie knows what he is doing, so I'm not a nervous wreck, like all Liverpool supporters must be once they hear they are about to sign someone.
Just gotta trust the gaffer. If Nani goes then fine. The fact that a player would want to leave should indicate that we don't want them. I'm not saying this is the case with Nani but I'm only interested in seeing players who want to wear the shirt.
My main problem with this if it happens is that I can see him leaving with no replacement coming in, which would leave us short of a very skilful player.
Shaving 10-15 k a week from a guy whose meant to be one of our best players, so that he earns around half of what 2 of our players earn (Rooney/RvP) isn't going to give him the confidence that he obviously craves.
There's a hierarchy, and to be honest, at his age, we should be putting him on a good wage; his next renewal will be at age 28~, and he'll be earning less than people who are 'mid-contract' and worse than him soon.
We'd obviously value him at 30 million at the lower end; why pay him the wages of a 18~ million quid player.
His agent won't be helping, either.
I don't know how Madrid got Modric on a 70k contract. How do you buy a player for 35-42 million euros and pay him 70k pounds a week.
Spanish clubs usually pay foreign players net of tax and Modric's supposed to be on about 70k - which will cost Madrid about 140k. That's believed to put him on the same as Alonso, Higuain and Di Maria - those last two got payrises to that this summer so that appears to be the "going rate" for Madrid.
Whilst I completely agree, there's nothing wrong with trying to get a player to lower his demands. Thing is, none of us know the situation & I very much doubt the journos have half a clue.
I don't believe Rooney or RVP are getting paid over 200k per week by the way.
and conmparing Young to Downing
and as for Nani...25 million???
Get to bollocks.
Saying that though, how can we overvalue him, if he isn't being considered good enough to be placed amongst our highest earners. If he is on less than Young, then that is a joke in my eyes.
Nani has the potential to become one of the best players in the league. Young isn't anywhere near that level, nor will he ever be. If i had to choose between one of them to get rid of, it would be Young without question.
If nani goes, i will start to seriously consider that SAF might be losing the plot. I suggested this might be on the cards a few months ago and was subsequently hounded down for doing so. But i just could not understand why we would go for Hazard and then Lucas, without it affecting Nani or Young.
But considering we did not manage to acquire either one of those 2, wtf would we gain by selling Nani? Who is unplayable on his day! We would be considerably weaker in my view. Nani usually occupies the attentions of a couple of defenders, and we now have even more players capable of exploiting and benefitting from that extra space.
I just want the end of the transfer window to come and go with Nani still with us.
The only way I'd consider it is if the fee was substantially higher than 25 million.
