What a whiny little shitbag. He's like a little girl. "buhu, i have ligament damage", well grow a new vagina and get on with it, like the other members in here

Exactly how I feel, he looked like one of the best players on the team before he got injured.
If he and Martial were on form, getting top 4 would not have been a problem this year.

I dunno... personally I think we should give him another season. The big problem though, apart from his injuries, is his mentality. Let's face it, he is quite sensitive. Now, in another environment with another manager, I think he would flourish. Unfortunately right now at United, the circumstances are all wrong for a young player in this situation. The massive pressure the club is under is not subsiding at all, and in this environment, someone with his personality will not cope well.

I really think until we get back on track, we shouldn't buy anymore young players, just the finished product (as long as they're not too old!). We just can't attend to their development at this moment imo.

Therefore, as much as I don't want him to, I think for his well being, it's probably better he leaves at the end of the season. Just start somewhere else without all the insane pressure. I'm sure he'll do well, but we'll just have to take it on the chin.

You always have to take these things carefully, but even before he was back in the side there were rumours he was battling with some mental issues, possibly bouts of depression due to the severity of his leg break in the first place. Again, you really have to take such claims with sensitivity, but if true, the response of his current manager and the scrutiny delivered by fans is absurd.

Young players should be nurtured and taken out of spotlight in any scenario, let alone ones where they are dealing with serious long-term injury issues. The treatment of Mourinho to put the spotlight on him in particular (though he is one of a couple) is absolutely mind-boggling.

This is off topic, so I will not dwell on it. But if you have a point to make, just make it and move on. No need to be insulting. I mean if this was a face to face chat, would you call me a moron just because we don't happen to see eye to eye?

Learn some manners. Just because it's online doesn't mean you should causally throw about insults.

It's not about two different opinions. It's about people being utter fecktards. Have you seen the amount of hobby ______ (insert whatever ranging from hobby psychologists, teachers, lip readers, doctors). There's a video of Michael Carrick and Wayne Rooney asking what's wrong, none of them seem to have much of a reaction whatsoever, and apparently it's conclusive evidence that they think he's a fanny faking injury (which seems to be ligament damage)

Like I said, learn some manners and maybe a little bit about the nature of debate and the possibility that people often have diverse, conflicting views. Perhaps, when you grow up, you will get it. Right now, you sound very immature; too immature to contribute to a useful debate.

Not really: if you really think calling people you have never met absolute fecking morons and utter fecktards is a grown up, mature way to go about a debate, then you are clearly immature.

I will leave it there now.

Thing is you did kind of suggest Shaw was faking injury based on nothing but Wayne Rooney's face. Think about that for a second.

As a footballer I'd imagine faking injury is the worst possible insult. I don't see the need for name calling but to complain about being called a moron seems a bit hypocritical in this context.

So basically. You are right to call me immature on the basis of something i've written, even though you've never met me.

But i'm wrong to call someone a fecking moron on the basis of something they've written.

    Interesting double standards that.

How so? I commented 'that's quite telling' on Rooney's and Carrick's reactions, meaning both looked quite dissapointed. It is quite a leap to 'he is faking injury'. Perhaps you guys are on a witch hunt and reading too much into comments like mine?

So what did you mean then when you said those dissapointed looks were "quite telling?"

    Telling of what?

That was way way later towards the end of his career at United, when he kept feeling that something was wrong even though none of the medical staff could find the slightest issue with him.

Everyone wants more of the latter, but it reaches a point where it's just downright stupidity when every single injury is being questioned.

Not to mention the fact that if the management staff had shown some common sense in relation to Pogba, he might have been available for the City and Swansea match

But I have already tried to explain my comment and you, seemingly, just ignored it. I will try again: My comment meant the video was telling in that they both looked disappointed. Nothing more, nothing less. If you can interpret that to mean 'faking injury' then I would say you are putting words into my mouth.

I asked this elsewhere and no one has bothered to reply, maybe you can help: has anyone, in this thread or elsewhere, actually said that Shaw was faking injury? I must admit I have not seen it. It all seems like just insinuations made up out of nowhere because some people on the forum have decided some other people on the forum are accusing players of faking injuries.

No this just doesn't make sense. If all you were doing was acknowledging that Rooney had a sad face "It's quite telling" is an odd choice of words. It's even odder to then have an argument with another poster about this who would surely agree with you. Cos you know...Rooney does look sad.

The over-reaction in this thread about Shaw is hilarious. He's having a run of bad luck with niggling injuries after coming back from a year long, serious injury. Is this suddenly something new? Or do we simply have to panic, state how he's never going to make it at the top, is a wimp, and his career will be curailed by injuries forever? Can we not just sit back and think that maybe with a full pre-season ahead of him, if he puts in the work there's no reason he can't come back stronger than before? To say he should be sold now is baffling to me. Stick with him for at least another year.

It's funny how if José has said that Shaw faked the injury some will still lap it up.

Well, perhaps my choice of words is odd but, even so, I don't see how you get to the faking injury interpretation. And if you read the to and fro, you will see that other poster never once asked me to clarify what I had meant. He just assumed he knew (that I meant Shaw was faking injury) and straight away decided I was an absolute fecking moron. He had some preconceptions and didn't bother to check closely if my post really confirmed them.

Such a shame for him. He's been ruined by injuries in his career so far. Not just physically, but the mental part too. It always seems to come as he has some bit of momentum going too.

That was the intention of the tweet. When else have you ever seen the reaction of a player to another player being injured highlighted? Or the minute of the injury? That's what you said was telling so you can understand the confusion.

That's proper shit then isn't it. He won't be fit for the start of the season, will take him about half of the season to get himself moving again, if he rushes himself he'll get injured again.

I just took it at face value. I don't know the intention and since I don't look at most tweets or reports regarding injuries, I do not know if it is unusual at all. I think @bucky posted it because another post had asked to see it. Not sure anyone thought it was evidence of faking injury.

And by the way, did you see my question: has anyone actually said Shaw faked the injury?

I posted it, because others missed it and I wanted to check again. The reaction from Carrick and Rooney was definitely unusual, but I am not going to guess whether they were annoyed by Shaw or that it was just another injury to one of our players.

I think people in general, myself included, are annoyed by the injuries and that it's always the same suspects. Do I feel sorry for Shaw? Yes. But I also want us to sign a left-back now, since we can't wait on him anymore. It's a tough business they are in and there's no time for sentimentality. Injuries have hampered our chances for titles in the past and this time around it's hurting our chances to get into the CL.

The "Shaw needs to man up and run it off" crowd have gone awfully quiet since it turned out it was a ligament injury. Funny that.

Silver lining here is that selling him in the summer now seems unrealistic. Whether you think he'll fulfill the promise he showed as a teenager or not, I don't really understand how anyone can really believe him not to be a better option at left back than Darmian, Blind, Rojo or Young.

As Bucky said, it's just fraustration rearing its ugly head. The same players getting the same knocks, tweaks and sprains all the bloody time when our squad is already thread bare takes it out of you.

You didn't know the intention, you don't look at reports of injuries(whatever that means), or many tweets, your comment of "its telling" was just you saying Rooney has a dissapointed face with no other inference.

Time to fess up me thinks. You bought into the idea Rooney was dissapointed with Shaw's reaction. Nothing else makes sense.

You're not the only one to jump on the fake injury bandwagon then retreat when proven wrong. Nobody else is rushing forward to say they were out of order.

His first season with us was ruined by niggling injuries too. I would say there is room for concern about his future here.
