More competition. Even after the hat-trick Big Sam said he has no guarantees, that when he approached SAF, the boss told him if he is going to get games, at which Big Sam said it's up to the boy isn't it?

i.e. if he is performing when he is on the pitch and showing enough in training - then he'll play.

On the other hand, Eurosport isn't the best to trust.

he is behind that kalinic and they play a 4-5-1

i'd be disappointed if he wasnt their 2nd choice striker

Is the Jones that's starting in the middle for them that young lad that debuted against Chelsea last year? Because I thought he was a CB

He isn't going to play instead of Samba or Nelson but can play it around a bit so plays a bit of a holding midfield role.

Yes it is. He's started all their league games in midfield so far this season. Here's what Big Sam had to say about it:

Jones is an absolute monster, watching him for the U21's he's twice the size of most of the other players. England's U21 defence looks like some sort of freak show with Richards, Onouha and Jones about.

I really think he's got a great future that lad.

    Good for Diouf.

    Smart movement from him there.

May sound silly after scoring 3 midweek but before that he looked maybe lacking in confidence, that'll do him the world of good.

It was a tap in but great movement in the box to get into space then across the defender.

Will people stop comparing him to Manucho now, not only is it lazily racist, he's already scored twice as many goals in his loan spell as Manucho ever did...in two games.

Can't argue with a hattrick in the midweek and then a goal against Arsenal. But I have to say his touch is disappointing. I didn't think it was poor back in Norway, only inconsistent. But to be fair, I've never seen anyone with a worse touch than Tevez when he's not in top form, he would make O'Shea look like Scholes, but when he is it is fine. Let's hope we'll see some improvement on that when he's played more games, gained more confidence and adjusted to English football.
