Good move for all parties. Evans is obviously experienced with playing in the top 4 world.
If he went to City I personally wouldn't hate him but I'd want him to cost them points and do shite.
Wonder how he'd feel about going? Big step up from West Brom but he was with us most of his life. He might end up never really playing either and could regret it
A club at the level his talent deserves. Top player- it's a shame that LVG sucked the life out of him then discarded him.
10m? They're taking the piss surely. In this market he's gotta be worth 25 minimum no? If Van Dijk is worth 60 then maybe more...
Would be a good move for City. He's probably not good enough to be first choice but he's a great backup for them.
Backup CB. Wouldnt mind, doesnt improve them, but they do love an ex United player
Good news if that's the only CB they get.
Good signing all round. City get a decent back up, Evans gets to play back at a high level.
Another one of LVG's mistakes in the transfer market.
That's the bid from Leicester earlier in the window, I imagine City will agree a fee that's much higher, at least double.
Should never have sold him - I know someone at WBA, and Evans has been a dream since he arrived. 'Best footballer in the club by a mile'.
Well this came out of nowhere. Aside from the obvious stigma of signing a 'United reject', we need another CB, and he is a substantial improvement on Kolarov who was our 3rd/4th choice CB last season. I can only presume signing Evans rather than a more expensive CB means we are going to do all we can to land Sanchez/another world class forward.
It would be a good move for City, but I'm hoping West Brom get at least £25m for him.
He was injury prone. But yes a good defender.
Surely you don't need yet another forward?
I hope he doesn't go. I'd want him to be stone fecking useless there, and along with Stones and Co., cost City a shedload of points, but I like Jonny too much for that to happen.
No way WBA and Pulis can let him leave for anything less than £40m this late in the window. Captain and easily their best CB.
Guardiola is definitely hoping to sign one this window. Personally I believe we need to address CB and CM more, but at the same time someone like Sanchez is just what our attack missed last season.
Ok player. nothing to be worried about. let him go there won't substantially improve them or anything so it's whatever if they want to burn funds for this type of diminishing returns
I'd hate to see this. Evans is a very good player. The confidence vampires Moyes and Van Gaal got to him at United. I think he'd significantly reduce City's Kompany reliance.
West Brom should demand at least £50m. That's what City paid for Kyle Walker and for John Stones before that. Evans is at least at their level, and has three times the title winning experience.
Jonny and Corey are both big United fans since they were nippers growing up. I hope he tells them to feck off. Oh and Fock you LVG
His wife is a presenter for MUTV if I'm not mistaken..
I'd rate Evans higher than Stones.
He'd be an excellent squad purchase for them
I could see Mike Smalling going to the Brom if he goes.
If he intends to stick with 2 upfront, he has too. I'm not convinced it will be Alexis however......The Mbappe interest has been making more sense of late.....
think so... awks
Pretty sure WBA wanted £25m from Arsenal last summer. With the prices going around this summer, that will definitely have risen substantially.
I hope we don't lose her to city.
What's the deal with Smalling? The majority of the times I've seen him play over the past few years he's been your best defender and I'm normally impressed by him, although Bailly looked solid last season. Do I just watch the few games he plays well?
He was a liability for us on more than one occasion so let them have him.
Well you'd be wrong.
Good player, wouldn't really hold it against him. He's 29 now and he's earned a step up. If he was at United, he'd be starting against Swansea on Saturday.
I don't really think he's that level, I rate him as a decent CB but there's a reason he didn't stay with us.
Basically, do you want to go to City and get a pay rise to be Kompany's injury backup?
Nothing. He's a very capable defender who had some bad games last season that were blown out of proportion. A huge part of that was the vilification from Mourinho, who questioned his integrity to football when he got injured playing through a toe injury. Football fans have their punching bags in squads and Smalling is currently RedCafes/Manchester United fans at large.
Don't get these type of transfers,Evans is 29, would he want to go there knowing in all likelihood he won't play that often apart from(I'm guessing) League Cup and the odd premier league/Champions League games.
I've got no problem with an ex-United player going to a rival but it's the obvious lack of game time that puzzles me.
I'd rather have Evans as well. Stones costs City points regularly.
Stones higher level is definitely higher but over the last 2 years Evans has understandably been more consistent.
