Any chance our lot will out sing a few thousand french? Sick of hearing only the opposition support on European nights at Old Trafford. You would think we were the away side with all the booing and whistling..

I hope Demba Ba walks past Mbappe and Mbappe accidentally slips. Nothing major but will need 4 days rest. :wenger:

Fortunate? Are you judging a caretaker manager on the same basis of a manager that has had time to put his own stamp on the team? So if we lose against PSG he failed the test, but if he win, that weren't the test? Seems like you are subtly trying to take away what he has done.

So who's their first choice RB. In the last 10-11 matches both Kehrer and Meunier have started the same amount of matches at RB.

Alves has been playing in midfield for the past two weeks due to their poor recruitment at CM.

So we are going to control the midfield most likely then? We are definitely playing with a 3 man midfield, but maybe Paul gets a lot of licence to run forward and we sit a bit deeper with Herrera and Matic? Not sure we should go with a high defensive line against these, not out the gate at least.

I am aware, but they could still move him to RB?

I'm really not, I just don't think he has passed many tests that he wasn't supposed to get past yet, and PSG should have been one but I don't think he'll shake it off with how decimated the team is, you can't deny it's a hint of good fortune among some others so far in his tenure. Two of the three best players are injured and they're facing a team that was rolling teams a month ago and is struggling a bit mentally with the constant injuries; a couple of months changed everything for the team. Now, I'm not saying it's just dumb luck, not at all, but it's undeniably been a part of his early reign. It's not really important anyways, because there are a lot of tests coming up soon for OGS and personally I'm a fan of what he's done.

Also, I never said anywhere I was judging him on the same basis of a manager who has had time to develop his team. I'd like to see how he does over the next month with the tough fixtures, but so far I'd really like to see him continue with the team and be given a nice budget to strengthen it according to his, and his team's, vision.

And, Ole changed everything with us. Or else we would be shit and wouldn't have been talking about tests or anything. Just shit. United have been fortunate with Ole, and he has been fortunate because the time was right for him to come in. Other than that, making us unbeatable since he came in has little to do with fortune and a lot to do with fecking awesomeness on his part, not much else to say. But also, sorry for implying. I agree it really wasn't that important.

I think we agree on pretty much all of that, I think Ole has been a huge breath of fresh air for a club that was in a toxic funk by a manager I've never been a fan of. It reminds me of when Zidane took over for Benitez, granted the team were a bit different in quality but the scenario was similar in how the team morale changed along with their form. It's an exciting time right now because of those tests coming up and this genuine feeling of not knowing whether they will be passed or not, but at least there's that legit hope that they can where as before with Mourinho, you're right...it was just shit and nothing to look forward to. It's a shame it took this long, but there's good times ahead for United to look forward to, and it may come at my hometown's team expense starting on Tuesday.

Take it you missed their match against Pool. Silva being past it is just your imagination running wild. Our defence is far from convincing, in fact we aren't even sure who's our best starting pair.

How convincingly do we have to win so those on the fence change from 'lets see how he does against PSG, City, Liverpool' to 'contract, now'?

Good shout but depending on the draw it could be someone outside of Barca, Madrid, Bayern, Juventus.

Financial Fair Play is a reality, which explains why PSG didn't invest another 200 millions last summer.

UEFA analyzes PSG from an accounting standpoint.

Meunier was acquired for 6 millions of euros: his accounting is value is around 2 millions.

If he is sold for 20-30-40 millions, then the realized gain from an accounting standpoint would be between 20 and 40 millions, which would enable PSG to redeploy money elsewhere.

Great! The evening would have been perfect with Neymar but great opportunity to see Kylian-Marco-Thiago.

The day is not finished :nervous:

Even with Parades? If fit I thought we might see him Rabiot and Verrati in midfield.

Rabiot wont play a game for them anymore, he isnt in match day squads.

It will either be Verratti, Marquinhos and Alves or Verratti, Paredes and Alves or even Verratti, Paredes and Marquinhos.

We will have to wait until after thess run of games. If we won against PSG it's because they were injury ravaged.

The excuses are unreal to be fair. I know it's killing some people but sooner or later you're going to have to admit that we're a good team under Solskjaer, a lot better than a certain Mourinho has convinced people we are.

How would you feel about Meunier leaving purely from a footballing standpoint? Is it not a concern given Alves' age and Kehrer being a bit of a utility player?

Woah, that's great. We should really put them away with so many players missing. I know their front 3 is still a good attack, but Di Maria and Draxler in particular should be easy to neutralise with the players we have.

The likely front line of PSG will still cost a combined 240m and even if it's not the best situation I hope nothing is taken away from us, if we win.

I think players like Meunier, Kurzawa and Rabiot have not a fantastic appetite to learn and be the best, which is the condition to be very accomplished players and part of the best players of their generation. They are all good offensively and have a great potential, but they can and should their defensive skills and make the necessary to be a starter.

For example, Kehrer is a not a right-back but he has a better fighting spirit and is more reliable defensively which explains why Meunier is on the bench these days despite being taller, better offensively and technically. The main and first quality of Ngolo Kanté is his mindset.

PSG can't win the Champions League with self-sufficient players. In this regard, we should have sold 2 years ago Rabiot instead of Matuidi.

You can argue that we haven't found a coach capable to make Kurzawa the French Nilton Santos and Meunier the new Fachetti.

Agreed, it's a good marker to see how far we are off Europe's elite in my opinion. I don't think PSG are in the top 5 or 5 but we should use this match to gage our position in that top 10.

Paredes won't play, or will sub Verratti around the 70's.

He isn't ready to follow the intensity of a CL game, however he will probably play in Paris.

As already mentioned PSG's team will most probably be :

    ----------------Mbappe-------------------
    ---------Draxler---------DiMaria---------
    -Bernat--Marquinhos--Verratti----Alves-
    ---Kimpembe---Thiago Silva---Kherer---

Tuchel will alternate between this and a 4-3-3 with Marquinhos, Verratti and Alves in the midfield and Kherer playing RB

Yeah, looks like this will be it, he was only included to cover all bases. You never know with Tuchel sometimes, he may overthink it like Pep in the CL.
