I find it another way to alienate/stick two fingers up at fans (delete as appropriate). Yet another £40 that fans will have to find every other year to have the latest home shirt. Many reds are happy paying that out every other year. To do so every year is simply greedy and twattish. It also ended a long succession this season. If we go on to win the title this season but had maintained last season's home shirt, every Premier League home shirt would have been worn in a title-winning season.

I've seen Arsenal, Barcelona, United, Inter, Celtic and Juve's kits for next year. Believe me if you wish, in last seasons new kit thread I believe I mentioned what they would look like and was proven right.

Lets just say this years crop is poor compared to last season. All the away kits are shocking except Barcelona, who switch to black. It also looks like a new kit will be coming out every season.

I don't get this... United don't benefit financially from bring out new kits every season. Nike does. And I suspect shit kits mean...fans are less likely to keep hold of them.

You were on the money last season MST3K. Can you do a mock-up yourself or even a quick sketch of the away kit if this one is not quite right?

By "our keeper kit from last season", do you mean this one?:

Sorry mate, I'm on my phone but the pic is close. I'm thinking of the purple kit Edwin wore, that's what the away reminded me of. Not the one with the chevron, my mistake sorry.

I hope there's no truth in the rumour, that kit looks awful. Cheers for the pic though.

Sorry, Jeebus. I really do not like that kit. The pinstripe shorts, the centered crest, the shoulder segments... yuck. The ones before and after it though, I do like.

Did yours come with a sponsors logo printed on or did you have to pay extra for that as well?

We should get a big feck off red devil on our shirt like the dragon/serpent thing that Inter have this season on one of their kits. :D

On the subject of kits, albeit an old one, does anyone know why the shirt we wore for the 1991 ECWC Final didn't have a sponsor on it?

I am not crazy about that one, although it does look pretty much the same as any other one lately.

As for this changing the kit every year, its a fecking joke. There should be a ruling that the shirt stays current for 3 years unless sponsor or designer change.

Teams in the Cup Winners Cup final never wore sponsors logos on the shirts until 1997. Not sure why, as they were perfectly okay to wear them in the earlier rounds.

I had Bryan Robson's long-sleeved spare from the match in my hands recently. Nice shirt, but the replicas were a bit poor with that foam/felt crest. Shame Adidas didn't make them more like the players ones with embroidery.

Long sleeve shirts pre 96 were never sold commercially weren't they?? Extremely hard to obtain. Only got a few long sleeve shirts in my collection with the oldest one being the home shirt from 00-02. Don't have an Adidas shirt in my collection yet though. Been trying to get one, too expensive on ebay though. Have all the PL ones.

No, they weren't (with the exception of some of the Admiral ones).

I'd love an original 1980-82 or 82-84 adidas shirt, but they are extremely rare and expensive in adult sizes. I've bought a couple of retro replicas of them and even though they get the details pretty much spot on, they fall down on the simplest thing - the cut. The sleeves are really square and ill-fitting and the neck/collar is always a massive, plunging thing like a women's top.

Yeah, would love the CWC shirt for example. The prices it goes to though, is a bit out of my budget, especially considering the exchange rate in these parts of the world. The most expensive shirt I've ever bought so far is the Home 2 Star European shirt with the Champions League Starball and Giggs 11 on the back at £79. The Newton Heath shirt for example I managed to snag on the cheap, before the height of G&G. Adidas shirts though, even the last white and blue somewhat tiger print, can easily goes up to nearly £100, plain. The CWC, I've seen it going up to more than £100 before.

I've still got the first adidas away kit 'somewhere' at my folks place. I'm sure my old man has probably been using it to clean the car with though :(

I'm not going to lie, I quite like that kit - still pissed at yet another new lot of shirts though.

Even more so that I buy one for my Godson too. It's an expensive game.

I quite like hoops, and it's a nice change. Only so many plain blue shirts they can do, really. I'm fairly pleased with it if it looks anything like that. Traditional in some respects, but different at the same time, while still retaining a true old-fashioned football look.

    They are alright.

My favourite United kit was still the latest AIG shirt. Simple, fresh and pretty.

I wasn't particularly keen on any of the AIG shirts, the logo with the box around it was too big and looked shit which ruined the designs. Having said that the black kit was nice.

I like the simplicity of the home kit above for next year, but I don't see why we need another new one. Not sure about the blue, I just hope we get rid of the horrible horrible piece of shit white one we stole off Bolton this year.
