I am sorry. What happen?
Can't be a very bad signing that. Who's to say he's bought to be a first teamer straight up. Might be just a replacement for Malouda.
So they have finally decided to buy wingers.
But this time they seem to have gone for talent rather than established stars.
He's basically like the Mata of the German setup really......like 5th choice.....except being 5th choice for Germany isn't as impressive as being 5th choice for Spain when you look at the depth further down.
The rumoured £6.5 ain't too bad though I guess, there was a time when he was valued at double that.
Looks like a replacement for malouda doesn't he? Although I have to say its a nice little purchase for them because this guy is quite young and has room to improve. Mind you though, he didn't play too well in the world cup (at least the matches where I saw him) and seems to have stalled in his development. If the price of 7m is accurate then its a bargain deal; maybe chelski have the FFP in mind.
Anyone else think his poor season is simply the same as it was with Evans. Young player going through a bad patch of form.
I think he could be a top signing for the chavs, and at that price well worth a punt.
It's not so much him having one poor season as him having more poor games than good ones in his entire Bremen career, and the longer he's been there the worse he's got.
But he is young and could quite easily come good. Time will tell how good an acquisition he'll prove to be. If you look at Malouda, He stepped up under Gus and for a period looked good but competition could get the best out of both of them
I'm a bit baffled by this one. He's reasonably good but not a special talent. It strikes me that Chelsea have got a limited transfer budget this summer. It could be due to ffp. Cheap, relatively low wages. Just guessing on that.
He's a special player. His technique is excellent, on par with Messi.
I do not know if he is even fifth choice. I even would say that a Großkreutz would be nominated before him - and hopefully Löw does not even get the idea for that. The last time he was nominated as a reserve player for the German team was in 2010. He has been good a year before the world cup but since then did not really shine very bright and had a couple of injuries. He was one of the biggest talents in 2009 together with Özil, they even played in the same team - you see where Özil is now and where Marin.
In the offensive midfield the choice Germany has is pretty impressing. There is no forwards coming behind Gomez and Klose and there is not really a good counterpart for Lahm on the other side - no matter if he plays right or left.
If there is one diver with the Germans it is Marin.
The Chelsea scouts mustve seen something in him.
Havent seen him play much, but he looks tiny. Ramires has done very well to establish himself in an otherwise big Chelsea squad.. wonder how Marin will fit in.
Malouda, Kalou will be on their way out.. There will be room for new players in the squad.
I have raved about him a few times on here in the past, as I have been impressed with him most of the times I have watched Werder in the Bundesliga. I haven't seen him play in about a year though, but a few years back he looked like a very exciting player who would glide past players with the ball for fun. He did however also have a tendency to disappear completely in matches where things weren't going his way.
Hope he flops.
Never really rated this lad so not too worried about this signing. I expect it to work out like our Obertan signing, where it's a bit of a long shot that could pay off but is far from guaranteed.
Is that a joke? Give over.
Maybe his advantage is that the PL defenders are not used to a type like him. He is very small and dribbles really well - hard to get off the ball without a foul. And it might be an advantage that the referees do not know him - the referees here think twice before giving him a foul. But thinking of that little small shirt in an infight with tall and bulky defenders it might be something else...
He is a lazy cnut, with some interesting skills.
Never been a big fan of him.
Can dribble quite well but is a massive diver and much too often doesn't produce any end product.
The transfer isn't a total surprise because Marin to Chelsea was a big rumour last summer too, Emenalo is a massive fan of him.
First of all Marin's signing means Malouda or/and Kalou will be on their way out and it could mean more time for Sturridge in the centre.
But i don't rate Marin (Maybe because the other german players in his position are much better than him) and i think his role at the Stamford Bridge will be just a squad player (Because i doubt he isn't good enough for Chelsea and he is only a Emenalo signing according to my informations).
- Chelsea needs wingers.
- 7m is a good price in both ways for Chelsea.
- Marin is very fast, is agile, can play on both sides and is good with both feet.
- He had a bad season (Injuries and only 1 goal + 3 assists), is inconsistent, makes poor decisions in important moments, doesn't much track back and is too lightweight for the PL.
- I can't see Chelsea plays with Mata and Marin against big clubs.
Will be a good signing for them.
I hope his interesting skills are in the football department.
Just been mentioned.
Why doesnt he play at all for the Chavs? Wasnt he supposed to be a good talent?
I think he's their Not Allowed.
such a shame, i had high hopes for him but he seems to have stalled. hope he can kick-start his career, he certainly has the talent.
Not good enough.
Arrived and got injured. Hasn't got back in since.
More like Obertan a player that was once rated fairly good but couldn't even secure a starting spot at Bremen.
TBH I never quite understood that deal to begin with, at least not from Chelsea's side.
yes he did and was brilliant at times alongside Özil and Hunt. he just suddenly faded away.
I highly doubt that he is as shit as Obertan. Being good when you were 14 does not count as 'once being good'.
He was never brilliant, he had a good phase and profited from better players around him.
He can dribble but not much more, always has his head down and falls way too easy.
If you compare him to someone like Özil, or any other of the German talents in attacking midfield positions was very obvious what a limited talent he is.
He's a wimp.
Yeah alright that comparison might have been a bit unfair.
Obertan was the best at the toulon tournament so he was definitely once good. But not at a first team level.
They got Marin on the cheap so it was never likely he'd be in the first team plans. However Moses getting gametime has to be worrying for him
Just joined Sevilla on a year long loan.
Good for him. What a waste his past year has been.
Was always a weird signing anyway. His stock had fallen massively in Germany before he arrived.
Chelsea loaning out another player

He was extremely highly rated at some point, wasn't he?
