    Team News
    [IMG] Marseille
    • Luiz Gustavo could start at centre-back with Rolando struggling with a knock. Rudi Garcia will give the Portuguese boss every opportunity to prove his fitness ahead of the Europa League final, however.
    • Kostas Mitroglou is also a doubt, which could see Valere Germain lead the attack.
    • All in all, Garcia isn't expected to make wholesale changes to his first choice XI.
    [IMG] Atletico Madrid
    • Sime Vrsaljko returns from suspension for Atletico Madrid, though Diego Simeone may continue with the experienced Juanfran at right-back.
    • Filipe Luis may get the nod at left-back ahead of Lucas Hernandez after the former's full recovery from injury.
    • Jose Gimenez and Vitolo are both doubts for the La Liga giants, though have been included in the travelling squad, with Stefan Savic and Angel Correa in line in deputise in defence and on the right flank, respectively.
    Possible line-ups (from UEFA.com)

Marseille: Mandanda; Sakai, Rami, Luiz Gustavo, Amavi; Anguissa, Sanson; Thauvin, Payet, Ocampos; Germain

Atlético: Oblak; Vrsaljko, Giménez, Godín, Lucas; Koke, Saúl Ñíguez, Gabi, Correa; Griezmann, Costa

    Rudi Garcia, Marseille
We have a pretty small chance of winning but we are going to give it our all. Playing Atlético is a big event for us. This is a club who have played two Champions League finals in the past four years, a club that won the Europa League not long ago. But a final at home in France is a fantastic opportunity. No French side have ever won this trophy; it would be fantastic if we could be the first.

    Diego Simeone, Atlético
Everything is set up for a great final. [Marseille have] been improving and they have a coach who has so many options at his disposal and a lot of nous. They're very dangerous, particularly in midfield and attack. It'll certainly be a tough game. As soon as we got knocked out of the Champions League, we immediately embraced this competition. Being widely billed as contenders to reach the final heightened our sense of duty and responsibility. And here we are.

Why is this on during the week? How inconvenient, I'm going to miss it :(

I think Atletico will win anyway.

Same here. Had a soft spot for Atletico normally but can't stand them in the last couple of years because of this dirty bastard who is in charge now and his dirty team too. Just hoping that Marseille have enough to win this.

Me too. Sick and tired of seeing Spanish teams dominating the European Cups (but totally supporting RM this year of course). Marseille have been a really entertaining team this season and beat some really good teams to reach the final. I can't bear to watch Athletico win another game 1-0.

You do know that our manager(your handle) employs the exact same tactic, right? I actually like Simeone but just can't sit and watch his team play!

Let's hope Marseille can pull off an upset. Atletico are heavy favorites.

Yeah Mourinho have a similar approach. I was not speaking about the tactics Simeone employs though. He can set his team up the way he wants. I just don't like him as a human being. He was a dirty player in his playing days and is a dirty manager now. The child is father of the man eh? His team reflects that perfectly too. Loved it when Varane wind him up in 2014 CL final

Should be a good game to see how Thauvin can do against a very tough defensive side on the biggest of occasions. Is he a very good player, or is he really a tier 1 player that every team should be looking at? The stats say he hasnt been as effective in the Europa as he has in the league this season. A good performance today can fix that.

I was rooting for an Arsenal vs Atletico final, it would have been CL worthy and would have had 3 times as many viewers.

This is pretty CL worthy. Marseille won the Champions League in 1992-3 (and were European Cup runners-up in 1990-1991).

I wanted Arsenal to win, of course, but I'd love to see Marseille take it.

    Atletico to win 2-1.

Meh, even I knew about it only a few hours ago.

Pity Wenger didn't make it, the EL final needed Arsenal. To come and lose of course.

Atletico to score the winner and defend for their lives for the rest of the game as usual.

It’s funny because I usually support Atletico as they are usually underdogs. Quite the opposite today.

Hope Marseille win but happy either way.

Yes, it is usually Germain, Mitroglou or N'Jie upfront.

Completely forgot there was still the Europa final, thank feck for this thread.

Nice to have a game where I don't care who wins, unlike the FA cup and CL finals. Hopefully see some decent football.
