Ferguson hardly does any of the training, so it's obviously not all him.

Mike, why do you have so spectacularly shit hair?

Why is it so hard for me to fall in love with him? Is it because he is dull? Is it because he doesn't have nice hair and a sexy accent? Is it because it's so damn easy to picture him cleaning Fergie's toes and put out cones? He loves his cones, does Phelan.

I'll never approve of him. And I'll never rate United's chances of winning anything until he's fecked off.

You're probably underplaying the role quite a bit.

Granted Fergie will still have a huge input but he's rarely on the training field.

I think I never forgave the "playing days" Mike Phelan for that slug, who the feck did he think he was, Magnum P.I?

Stop repeating the points I've made, cw1984.

I swear to Christ, I'll have my lawyers on you for plagiarism.

Let's face it, which other team would have a bald, former player who was mediocre in his playing days, as an assistant manager?

Obviously Chelsea has turned it into some kind of game to have as many of them as possible what with Di Matteo and Wilkins etc.

But seriously, do any of you think Danny Mills will suddenly be made City assistant? And if he was made assistant, don't you think it's fairly plausible he'd be forced into wearing a tux? Like a travelling, entertaining penguin for the lads to enjoy during away days?

Mr Phelan has still given me one of my favourite moments when he burst that balloon and frightened the life out of Fergie sitting next to him....

by the way, not sure if this has been asked before and excuse my ignorance...but what is Carlos up to at the moment...totally forgotten...

Has this been reported by a reputable media outlet or are we just going on the @TransferNewsCen tweet?

I remember and mentioned before how much people slated Queiroz when he first came (2002/03) and we really struggled at the start of the season. He was blamed for for the dour football and lack of goals. Then we won the title, and people were so unhappy he left for Real.

The assistant is a nice, comfortable excuse. Easier than to blame the manager, who is - at the end of the day - the man in charge.

Rene Meulenstein is highly rated. And I'm really not, people totally overrate Queiroz and in turn undervalue Fergusons input. Who are we to question who he picks as assistant manager?

Twitter seems to think that they're speaking to Claudio Ranieri (for a second time) and Ray Wilkins as well.

you guys are blind to the truth, the reason behind our success isn't ferguson or queiroz or anyone like that. It is Albert Morgan.

Big risk by WBA, if true.

We can always "promote" Giggs if Phelan were to leave.

I've always been a bit of CQ (at United) fan but I don't think he'd return and whilst Phelan seemingly is more a shorts and background kinda guy, I've no idea what his contribution is at United. If West Brom are approaching him then he must be doing something right.
