There is no point in even trying this season. His agent already said he wont leave this season and Inter won't sell him anyways. He will sign new contract this season.

Heads can be turned especially if big money is offered. He's a way better player then Toby

Never really watched him play. Is he a Vidic or a Ferdinand? What kind of potential are we talking about, 80 million is a lot for a CB.

Never seen him but the name is suitably imposing, so he's a must-buy for me.

If this two had a love child this would be the outcome. Has a bit of both. Although I’m sure he himself has said he doesn’t want to leave Inter yet, as he wants to gain more experience or something.

Reminds me of Bailly actually - strong, quick, aggressive, good in 1v1s, maybe a little bit rash, pretty good (rather than great) on the ball, not particularly dominant in the air.

I think he's a very good defender, but maybe not a perfect fit for us stylistically (too similar to existing options).

Caveat emptor I am obviously not an Inter fan, so the above is based on a handful of games only.

He's the only defender I can think of which is worth breaking the bank for.

Isolated that might be true. And he is a lot younger with a better injury history. But Toby is extremely good playing out from the back, and has a sweet right foot. That is something we lack, and that would add a big value to our team and general play.

Mourinho appears frustrated by our lack of ability in the build up, and Toby might be a missing piece. Similar to Terry he often plays the long ball accurate.

He'd be a great addition to the team. Cheeky swap deal for Lindelof + cash? I'll even throw Jones and Rojo in for free. :D

So? I had a dream week ago that Jose is working at Madame Tussauds as a guide. We had a nice chat later, but couldn't find my phone for selfie with him.
Almost smashed my phone when I woke up.
    I kid you not.

This is the feel I got when I watched a few of his highlight reels.
Yes, I know you can't judge a defender by watching a highlights reel but from what I saw, he is a good player who may or may not become world class

Curiously enough, he can play either role at a good level at this stage of his career — kinda like a watered down version of Nesta: not in stylistic terms per se, but having the tenacity of a rugged stopper but also the finesse of a more conventional defensive sweeper. Long term, he's comparable to someone like Boateng when he was at the peak of his powers — and not only looked like the best German central defender since Kohler but was a key part of Bayern/Germany build-up play. Maybe he won't hit those heights, but Škriniar really has everything in his locker to emerge as one of the best central defenders of the post Godín/Ramos/Chiellini era. Would be a very exciting signing for United considering the potential of in situ youngsters like Bailly and Dalot, though I can't see him moving just yet...another season at Inter will do him good, and there should be no shortage of suitors considering Madrid and Barcelona have also been linked with him:

Yeah More of a love child between Stam and Vidic than Rio & Vidic other poster above cited.

Edit: To be precise, the way he defends in the box, and aerially is like Vidic. Outside the box, his marking, tackle style is like Stam. Vidic tends to go to the ground more often outside the box (still great precise with his tackle) trying to sniff the ball away from attacke rin one go. Stam is more about persistent harassing , then whop in when opening appears.

Inter needed to balance their book again. Unlike Perirsic case where we draw a line how much we're willing to spend, Kriniar is worth going all out for, so it's not as black and white.

Skriniar is surely worth at any price but the man said that he will stay and Inter dont want to leave him go. So this is a clueless rumour.

ps. Inter will find the way to "balance the books" (well actually is to "balance the ffp settlement agreement") with selling the youngsters from primavera.

I’d imagine him to be an ‘unsellable’ (or gigantic money) player alongside Icardi. Far too good to cash out on right now they’ve just got back into CL football and are on an upward trajectory.

Inter is negotiating contract extension with Icardi. Even with CL money which numbers shows up next financial year, it would be something to be looked at now. They're limited on what they can offer to Icardi. If they don't resolve, they would lose money if Ircadi pushed for a move then, and that they are no guaranteed to be in CL the season after. A good enough offer for Skriniar which both secures their financial health & some to spare on transfer may turn head.

Never watch Italian football. But the youtybe-vids made him look a lot like Vidic. Willing to put his head where most wouldn't put their foot. Looked like he could find openings further up the field. Didn't seem like the tallest though and his ability to defend in the air was non existent in that video... That was what I found a bit worrying

He's not particularly good in the air. Not terrible, but certainly not Vidic either.

I thought Skriniar just signed a contract extension with Inter until 2023. Also, I read that we wanted to stay at Inter.
So, what happened? Is he available and Inter want to sell him?

Koulbaly has a good passing range and he is very composed. Also, he is strong in both the air and his tackling. But he is not that good on the ball like Hummels, Bonucci or Ramos.
