He comes across as being very mature to be honest.
He was never going to start today. Probably some way off of full match fitness.
Just saw him on Everton bench! Didn't realise he even was there!
How has he been doing at Everton?
He was very good today, I watched the Everton game. Looks much more comfortable playing as a box to box player who defends a bit rather than the anchor playmaker.
Is there a reason Gueye didn't start today? How Barry steals starts I'll never know...
He was great today for about 60 minutes and then he got booked and it clearly effected him for the rest of the game. His passing and little one twos in midfield was really impressive.
Gueye never started because we are not desperate like others rushing back our players from the AFCON.
Barry is still more than capable of putting in good performances. Even in recent weeks he was superb against City and was good today. I can't wait to see Gueye, Schneiderlain and Davies together in the same formation as we played today though. It will be an absolute overload in energy .
All the jokes Liverpool fans made after the derby and now they are only 6 points ahead of you guys. too good
Yeah figured it was AFCON. Agree with that trio, be very tasty indeed. As long as Barry is far, far away...
Back playing well when given a chance as a box to box player, rather than us trying to shoe horn him as a 6. Shock horror.
I'm pretty sure he played as an 8 for us too. He just played shit. Not LVGs or Mourinho's fault
Convinced he has the ability to have made it here, but maybe just didn't have the mentality to force his talent through. Every training session is an opportunity to convince a manager you should be playing, but he never was able to 'demand' selection and be more than a bit part player. Shame, but it was the right move to allow him to move on.
He very rarely played as 8 for us under Van Gaal to be fair. Mainly only played doing the dog work in midfield.
Just scored his first for Everton, a really good finish.
He's been really good apart from his terrible performance against Spurs last week.
Happy to see him do well.
He's a decent player, no doubt. Everton is his level. There is no shame in that at all, but to me it was clear he couldn't handle the burden of playing in such a spotlight. He just wasn't expressive enough on the field. He was shocking against Spurs, which someone else has noted. He'd have gotten shredded by fans and probably dropped here for that. So again...Everton is his level.

No surprise. Clearly coached out his natural game into the role LVG wanted.
What about under Jose? Schneiderlin is just going the easy route there imo. It's easier to say van gaal was horrible than 'I was not good enough for United'
I don't see that as a "it was not my fault I didn't make it at United" kind of a comment. Confirms what we all saw on the pitch 2014-2016.
True but his robot comment to me seems like 'I was asked to not play like how I could' meaning I could play well but I wasn't allowed to. Which in that case, we should have seen an improvement under Jose like we saw with herrera.
Maybe I'm overanalysing it
Schneiderlin was only here for 1 and half season (1 full under LVG). Agree with the context. Mourinho let him be more of himself, but he just didn't meet the requirement. LVG however, tried to change him completely.
You just went to another extreme! You're just like LVG in a sense, even though you're not like him
Aye, it's hard to know without the context. But you are right that it'd be quite normal for a player to shift blame after failing at a club.
Edit: Found the article on L'equipe, but it's behind a paywall.
We all know that players thrive on confidence and regular playtime.
Clearly lvg broke this lad mentally and he was never going to get a proper lookin under Jose as he just didn't fancy him for whatever reason
I imagine LVG threatening to get his balls out again would disturb you.
Wanted the players to get horny, but prevented them to experience pleasure...
Morgan most likely could not get to grips with LVG's system. Some things just are not meant to be. Hope he can kick on and have a good career.
Compare his comments to Johnny Evans as an example...
“Whatever people say about him and his spell in charge of United, he was a fantastic coach. I learned as much in that one year as I did in a lot of years as a Premier League footballer. He was very into his positional play and team shape, no matter if you were a centre-back, a midfielder or a winger."
From Telegraph interview. http://www.telegraph.co.uk/football...defender-jonny-evans-left-man-utd-right-time/
One might expect Evans to be bitter but he obviously sees merit in LVG's coaching.
Unsurprising really, I'm expecting a lot to come out in the wash from LVG's tenure. LVG was clearly a massive mentalist and the players were caught between wondering what the hell they were trying to do and just taking the piss cause it was LVG.
You buy Pogba and that is curtains for Schneiderlin. Pogba is the whole package, Schneiderlin is a box to box player who can defend a bit (not a robotic 6 like last year). Weigh the two up, it was pretty clear that he was never getting a game once Pogba came in. Sharp move to leave, after he pretty much destroyed his chances of playing at the last Euro I think it was the right move for him. Needed to get back control of his career.

Seems to be finally getting his mojo back. This is the player I thought we were signing. Fecking Van Gaal. Such a disastrous influence on this club.
He's been fairly underwhelming this season so far but him and Gueye is a solid platform to have and a big reason for us not losing a game so far.
I'm sure he's a fount of boring tactical knowledge. Which some players will find interesting/uesful. That was not his job description though. He was hired to recruit and inspire a team of talented players. Which he made an absolute pig's ear of.
Had more to offer, shame it didn't work out for him.
He was awesome an Saints. One of the players we've had who I really am disappointed it didn't work out.
Still believe he could have made the DM role his for us
No regrets. He can make some tackles now and then, but it doesn't make him a good player. DMs from lesser teams are rarely forward thinking or playmakers like Matic or even Carrick and we shouldn't be buying them. Or, we should be careful when we do buy from lesser teams to make sure we are getting a gem.
LvG made a mistake in buying a midtable player like Morgan. Then his tactics reduced Morgan from midtable to championship level in quality. Jose sold him because he is not suited for a top club, he's found his level now.
Forgot all about him until I saw him celebrating with Rooney for Rooney's goal last gameweek.
He isn't good enough. He knew it, otherwise he would have stayed.
DM alongside Pogba = starting spot with the french NT
Limited player - currently playing at his level
He wont start for France with Kante around. Kante's a better DM.
I believe he could have been good enough, he was sold by Mourinho, he didn't kick up a fuss to go
