A man who's received far more stick than he deserves over the last few months.

Thought all his substitutions were spot on. Obviously the second goal perhaps forced him to take a bigger risk than he'd have liked, but he couldn't have altered the game any better.

Rightly so, every changes he made is critically on the spot for this game.

Some players betray his expectations early on.

Yup - subs were spot on and, as he's just identified in his post-match interview, moving Lingard to a false right back gave us so so much.

Yep, as a confessed Jose hater, his subs were spot on tonight.

Yes definitely. He won the game tonight with smart subs and leadership from the side of the pitch. Great to see!

His belief in this team, even with so many detriments it seems is paying off.

He deserved that win the most.

Absolutely. The Mata substitution changed the game.

Too many are very quick to criticise him when things aren't going well during the game, but I see they've all retreated back into their shells after his match-winning changes.

Credit where its due, I'd have no one else in charge at United currently.

He deserves credit for being truly audacious towards the end. His subs were very positive.

He certainly did change the game with his substitutions (and possibly his half time talk), but let's not forget that we were a DDG world class save and a Matic screamer in the last minute away from losing points here against an awful Palace side. That first half was absolutely shocking.

He made good substitutions and the players are playing for him.

Does he deserve credit for that? I don't know.

Absolutely, spot on with his subs tonight. Completely changed it tactically in 2nd half which allowed us to control the game.

Moaners will still prefer to analyze the 1st half instead of 2nd so we're better off not visiting the Mourinho assessment thread.

His interview was good as well. Praised Palace, praised the ref but made a point of saying we made too many defensive errors, and not just the defenders.

Kicked that water bottle so imagine he'll be in the stands for Liverpool match. I kid.

He deserves massive credit for the very risky way we played after their second goal. Something we rarely saw post SAF. We saw similar thing vs Boro at OT last season.

We were playing with literally no defense for the last 30 minutes and they could have scored the third any time but we risked everything and we earned it. Brilliant feeling.

However, he should work on getting us starting better. Not every time we'll be able to escape like this.

Proper SAF style attacking football. The last time we did something similar was last season against Boro where we knew we had to win and we threw the kitchen sink at them. That was also the game where we had 2 at the back.

Yeah he does. He was very positive with his subs. Ended up with all of Lukaku, Sanchez, Mata, Rashford, Pogba & Lingard playing most of the second half and finishing the match.

He's really been getting it right with substitutions. I think we've scored the most goals from the bench this season, 6 more and we'll break the PL record.

Credit for turning it around with smart subs and upping the intensity in our play, needs to be braver with tactics from the beginning though, not this reverting back to our half after we’ve lost the ball against these poor teams.

I think he has deserved criticism this season, but not tonight, obviously. What struck me was after the third goal, when he was animatedly and at length instructing de Gea what to do. That was Mourinho doing his job actually in a match for me ... at last. :)

Wish he'd set us up to attack from the very first minute instead of waiting until we're behind. He does deserve credit for normally making the right changes, but he also deserves the criticism for the way we start. So there's good and bad points.

They showed it during his interview. It went into the crowd apparently. Jose apologised straightaway and I'd be shocked if something came of it. Wasn't an angry kick or anything. Bit of an innocuous swing.

I found it extraordinary that he came away focusing on defensive mistakes. I came away bemoaning more dysfunctional football. Players on different wavelengths, making easy things look hard and labouring to string passes together. When is he going to notice any of that and actually sort it out on the training ground?!? United aren’t about defensive coaches.
