Okay, so I've just come up with this chant for Alexis Sanchez.

To the tune of Peter Sarstedt's 'Where Do You Go To My Lovely?'

One for the older caftards - the one's who remember us getting relegated and all that.

"Oh he shoots like Ruud Van Nistelrooy,
And he crosses like David Beckham.
    He's our little Chilean maestro,
    And he's better than Mhkitaryan!
Yes he is, Yes he is...

He got sick of carrying Arsenal,
    Winning feck-all every year.
United are gonna win the lot,
Now that Alexis Sanchez is heeeere
Yes we are, Yes we are..."

Ok, so he can't quite shoot like Van Nistelrooy, or cross like Beckham. And Arsenal have actually won stuff in the last few years - but when do we let reality get in the way of a chant, eh people??

I fully expect to hear it being belted out from the Stretty on TV Friday night.

Am I the only one who cringes reading most of these?

Serious questions, as I have never been to Old Trafford (or any other game in the UK for that matter): Do any of these longer, song-style chants actually ever become popular?

The ones I can recognize when I watch United are typically the shorter and much simpler versions.

Only long ones I can remember remaining popular were the Georgie Best World one and the 12 days of Christmas.

We have fairly mediocre chants at the moment the latest one that has stuck has been martial and that’s 3 years old now...boyley will have to get his buddy’s together and think of a rashford song, surprised they’re isn’t a song for him yet.

The catchiest ones to me recently are the ones we aren't allowed to sing:
    1. The "complimentary" Lukaku one
    2. The Christmas Liverpool one - let them know it's Christmas time!

I don't believe in having chants for players who haven't done anything for us yet, like the Falcao chant.

Personally think we have some of the best and most original songs in the world. We have two very good rashford ones at the moment that get belted out regularly before games In the pub.

He thought it was bad in London Town
    Sanchez, Sanchez
But here its worse, Jose's around
    Sanchez Sanchez
    Ed Woodwards shite,
    He's signed no one,
    We'll finished behind Everton
Alexis Sanchez, your our only hope for this season so try not to feck it up ok, because I really can't be arsed with Jose's moaning for much longer, so just try and score some goals and play well and stuff yeah? Cheers.

    Alexis Sanchez, Sanchez
    You played with Cech
Now you're playing for the cheque
Sick of carrying the light red
Jumped to carry the team in dark shade
    Headless chicken Sanchez
Always running with the ball to the blind end.

    When Johnny comes marching home...

they came to take our Mikhi away Tara Tara
Alexis came the other way hurrah hurrah
Sanchez said no to the council house
3 years after turning down the Scouse
and we all get blind drunk when Alexis Sanchez scores

Then wind up your Scouse mates by saying you never heard of Torres chant, you're just remixing John O Sheas version which we sang first..

If you tried some of these chants at an actual game, the looks you'd get would be priceless (and not in a good way). Sanchez hasn't really earned one yet anyway.

Call me old fashioned but personally just looking forward to the first proper airing of 'United United United' at our first away
