Incredible record, Jose really knows how to turn his home grounds into a fortress.

You're gonna get called a jinx now.

Shame about the volume of draws last season. But certainly seem to be putting it right this year.

Didn't realize we had made it to 40 games, very impressive. Being hard to beat at home gives a great chance in KO competitions too.
If City had not gotten off to a flyer, we'd be confident of taking the title challenge to the last few GameWeeks.

Wow -that’s amazing when you see all the wins in there too. Now, it is only fitting for us to break the record on Sunday!

Couldn't you wait until AFTER Sunday's game to post this!? that's our hardest game in all of those 50 games combined. It all comes down to this, the winner takes it all...

I have a good feeling we will take them down this time around.

Interesting thing that when they came the last time, their star player (Aguero) couldn't play if I remember well and we were the favourites to win with our new star players (IBRA, Pogba, Miki) all buzzing. Yet they won.

This time around, it's our own star player (Pogba) missing and they are favourites.

I have a positive vibe that we'll beat them and the loss will trigger a poor run from them as it did to us last season.

    2-1 United.

I believe it's already beaten the previous record of 37 set by Ferguson so a new record is now set every game.

Not Sure. Mourinho had a run of 60 at Chelsea (his entire first period in charge) and his personal record is 190 consecutive unbeaten home games (Porto, Chelsea, Inter, Real).

I'm starting to appreciate defense lately. Same with boxing, I liked seeing all action brawlers but watching Floyd Mayweather was very interesting as well. United's defensive stability at home is a joy to watch IMO.

What you forgot to state is that they had a GK, who committed a red card foul, which was not given to us.
He should've been sent off and we should've got a penalty.
MCFC were very lucky to beat us that day.

A few weeks later, we played them in the League Cup, I think it was...and they were not so lucky. We beat them.

MCFC are not as great as the media and some football fans make them out to be.
What I am worried about is David Oliver. He will look to send off a MUFC player, without a doubt. He will be MCFC's 12th man.
Of course, Pogba is also a huge miss.

On the plus side, we have Jose as our manager and it's home game.

Floyd Mayweather has an unbelievable defence. The way he slips and slides. The sheer speed at which he is able to move, keeps his opponent chasing.
And like you, I am also appreciating a good organised defence.

Unbelievable record. And accumulated while winning four consecutive league titles in three different leagues, right?

    We've scored 85 goals and conceded 17.

United’s top 5 unbeaten home runs
    1. 40 matches – December 1964 to April 1966
    2. 40 matches – September 2016 to present
    3. 38 matches – December 1998 to April 2000
    4. 37 matches – April 2010 to October 2011
    5. 33 matches – March 1955 to October 1956

Amazing how football throws up subplots like this.

City, the very last team to beat us at OT, are the team we face on the day we can set a new home record, whilst preventing City from setting a new winning record.

Either way, one record will fall on Sunday.

You're aware that to win a league title you need to play away games too? And subtracting many win at home this season, the Ds stands out as a sore thumb last season, and remember that many of those wins last season were in cup competitions too. There is one point last season, our record look like we're doing better in the league away than at home point wise.

Btw you missed the point of my last post entirely. ;) Right, @EyeInTheSky ?

Great record, no doubt. We can all agree there were a few too many draws last season, but we've won our last 12 on the bounce, conceding just 3 goals and scoring 33.

Safe to say Mourinho has made Old Trafford a fortress again after the calamitous years of Moyes and van Gaal.

I'd love to win for obvious reasons but I'd especially look forward to the post game Pep interview if we do. More head scratching and awkwardness to be enjoyed.
