Unfortunately Pat's legs are completely gone so if they play him consistently it's not going to improve them, great character for the dressing room. If they were willing to look into giving David Moose a personality transplant from Uncle Pat's used socks it would be worth while, but I doubt it. Go Patriots!

that's the problem with hedging your bets. West Ham have only contracted Moyes to end of the season. Their thinking is, he keeps us up we might keep him on and even then, that's a big if, or if we go down he's defo sacked. Problem there is you can't back him In Jan with decent money, as you've no long term plan in place. Why give money to a manager who you might have replaced in a few months. West Ham were pulling away from the relegation zone, but now a few injuries and they are getting pulled back into it. Evra great player in his day, but come on, one league you don't want to play full back in at his age is the PL.One of the few leagues where teams even poor ones still have wingers with genuine pace.

His legs are worse than Zabeletta's and he's had less recent PL experience. Love the bloke but he'd be in danger of embarrassing himself in my view, while for West Ham it would be a desperate sticking plaster.

He's rubbish so I'm not sure what the point of West Ham signing him is.

West Ham have Masuaku who has impressed me and Aaron Cresswell as left backs.

Hope it works out because I adore him but looking at his competition, his form over the last year in the PL and age I can't see this working out. It looks like a vanity signing by West Ham.

Reuniting with Moyes, that legendary combination that for a few minutes gave us hope of beating Bayern in the CL.

Kind of glad his last contribution to football isn't going to be the kick at Marseille, but it could be worse if he is completely off the pace of the Premier League.

Musuaku is apparently suspended for 6 games so that only leaves them with Zabaletta and Cresswell as FB's for now. Personally, I think he can still do a job for them. He wouldn't be good enough for us right now, but we never should have got rid of him when we did. He should have stayed and been a mentor for Shaw until Shaw was ready to take the mantel...

Two news I picked up on Masuaku:

West Ham United’s Arthur Masuaku has been handed a six-game ban after being sent off for spitting during his side’s FA Cup exit at the hands of Wigan Athletic on Saturday, the Football Associationhas confirmed.

The 24-year-old was shown a straight red card by referee Chris Kavanagh after he was adjudged to have spat at Wigan’s Nick Powell, having reacted to a challenge from the midfielder. Television cameras picked up the moment that led to Masuaku’s dismissal, and Moyes confirmed afterwards that the club will take action against the Frenchman.

“He will deserve everything he gets and he will get something he deserves from us. It's unacceptable,” said Moyes.

    And

West Ham want to fine Arthur Masuaku more than the standard two weeks’ wages for his spitting shame.

The Hammers are frustrated that the rules prevent them from doing so instantly without consultation with the PFA — the players' trade union.

Seems they went out of their way to punish him. Signed another player in his position :)
Think he's already two games into his suspension, and they have Cresswell so this signing doesn't make sense to me.

Done deal. Good luck to him. Will hate to see him playing against us but he'll definitely get a great reception from our fans if he stays for next season to play at Old Trafford.

Nope. Don't like this at all. Love the guy. One of my favourite players to have played for us (I have a thing for gung-ho fullbacks, it seems). Loved everything about him when he was here. That attitude and charisma, he had the lot.

He's still a red, he doesn't shy away from it on social media, but I'm not going to like seeing him play for another Premier League team, especially for that lot and especially against us.

Hopefully it's just a stepping stone for him to come back and be a coach. His personality is huge, a total winner, would be great to have around.

Didn't his missus hate England though?

I wasn't happy at first as I have a strong disliking to West Ham.

But when I mentioned it just now in the office that he'd be back in the Premier League, all the scouse fans started piping up. "Feck sake, what's he doing back in the league?" etc.

    Now I'm delighted.

He wasn’t good whenever I saw him in the French League so I hardly think this is a good move for WHU

I'm not really fussed if it's a good move for West Ham or not. I'm just pleased to see Uncle Pat although I wouldn't like to see him line up against us.

Weird move for West Ham, Cresswell prob one of there most consistent players and evra has been a bombscare at defending for years. could play him as a winger as he was always a good crosser of the ball

Can't blame him, it's a great opportunity for him and another wage packet, who could deny him that?

Will always love Patrice, but it'll be horrible him playing against us. Seems weird seeing him in another English clubs colours.

Uncle Pat is my favourite player since I've been watching United. I love the guy and I hope he does really well even if it is West Ham. Would hurt me if he plays against us.

    For people surprised by this move;
Evra kicked a supporter in the head and got a lengty ban, so he terminated his contract with Marseille.

I guess this is an emergency move

Legend, pity it’s West Ham, but great to see Pat back in the PL.
Second only to Denis Irwin in terms of LB’s I’ve seen play for United.

So fecking weird the amount of hype they're doing for this.

Even in his prime, he's a fecking left-back! West Ham are promoting this like they've signed Dybala.

Biggest name player they've ever had in recent years TBH, they've probably only signed him to boost their social media.

This upsets me as I love Uncle Pat and really dislike West Ham!

He will provided something for them inithe dressing room withwhis personality and his experience but don't see him having much impact on the field.
