Make of this what you will:

Manchester United; Mourinho calls Bundesliga superstar to offer him a five-year deal at Old Trafford
    [IMG]

What looked like a done deal is still not signed sealed and delivered and now reports in today’s Mirror suggest that Manchester United are back in the race for Borussia Dortmund striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.

The 27-year-old has been talking to French giants Paris Saint-Germain and a deal looked to be in the offering but it’s understood that personal terms are yet to be agreed. The journal states that Italian football journalist Emanuele Giulianelli understands that United boss Jose Mourinho has personally spoken to the player over a proposed five-year deal at Old Trafford as he looks to bolster his attacking options this summer.

With Wayne Rooney edging ever closer to the exit and Zlatan Ibrahimovic recovering from a serious knee injury, Mourinho wants the Gabon international to lead the line next term along with another big name signing.

With Antoine Griezmann now staying put at Atletico Madrid, Real Madrid’s Alvaro Morata is thought to be the Portuguese tactician’s primary choice to link up with Aubameyang and form one of Europe’s most potent attacking line-ups.

I'd love it if this were true. It doesn't look that promising yet though.

Would be a dream signing- he's fast, but not just a speed merchant. He's great in the air and has an aptitude for being in the right place at the right time.

Maybe, now that Lukaku could be going to Chelsea, who is left? Belotti is too expensive, that leaves only Morata and Aubameyang from the reported mainstream targets. And Lacazette.

We need a striker to hold the ball up. We play deep and need that to get up the pitch. Does Auba offer this?

I really really hope this is true. He's the striker I want above all else that are available. Would score 25+ goals easy.

He's off to PSG forget about it. Morata is our last hope and he wants to stay at real eventhough they don't want him

We don't know that. Plus we can outbid PSG for the fee and wages. And I can bet he'd rather play in PL than Ligue 1.

I can play this game too, we don't know that either. Anyway, it looks pretty clear he is off to PSG, let's pray I'm wrong.

We have more money than PSG, that's a fact. I do hope you're wrong and he ends up at OT because he scores for fun.

At some stage we have to get on of those thunderbolt superstar signings like other clubs do where no one is linking us with the player and then bang 48 hours later he's ours. (It has to happen sometime right :wenger:)
