Fair play to the guy for bollocking him. He's got more balls than probably anybody on this forum because I know I wouldn't have been able to do it.

State of this club where we praise people for hurling abuse at our own players :houllier:

The scapegoating of Pogba is like Sterling at Liverpool all over again

Sure, lets all just be bag-gobbling sycophants and accept that absolute dumpster fire of a season from any of our players. The guy in the crowd took his shot and I bet you wouldn't have had the balls to do it. At least admit it on an anonymous forum.

Shouting abuse at a stranger from a distance with the protection of stewards and a crowd around him? Not exactly brave  most people wouldn't do it because it's asinine, not because of fear.

Are we not tired of all these drama around Pogba? Thread after thread; post after post; analysis after analysis.

Pogba this, Pogba that. This alone is beginning to tilt towards the 'sell him' camp. There really shouldn't be this much of drama around one player. Something is just not right.

KdB point is excellent. We shouldn't rely on 1 player and blame him for everything, starting from creating chances to controlling midfield. He should be part of the team, not someone who can save us week in week out.

I swear if he left because of this one abuse, I'm dons with this club.

When he does good, he is praised like god, but when things go rough, he is harassed like an animal in a cage. Shameful behavior.

Why can't we give Ole a chance to have a good summer and see if Pogba improve next season in a more functioning, cohesive team?

I knew it was a mess when he said they told him they renewed his contract last year by post or something. They definitely took the piss out of him

And as long as the majority of our fans don't get that, selling Pogba, getting new shiny toys won't change much in terms of expectations followed by massive disappointment.
Last player we had like that was Ronaldo and worldwide, there aren't many players like that. Liverpool missed Salah and Firmino jut ending up destroying Barcelona because they believed in Klopp's system before and individual can make a difference

"...a major reason (if not THE major reason....)....."

The word 'if' as used in the bracket, is not definite.

    Does that help?

Why should the other players drop their levels because of Pogba's comments? You do know players like RVN, Schmeichel, Scholes, Ronaldo, Ince, Beckham and Rooney undermined Fergie before right? Im not even going to mention Keane because he was swiftly terminated. Becks had a few of those before the boot in the face incident which was the final straw. Schmieichel even hurled insults towards Fergie after a loss against Liverpool and Scholes refused to play in a league cup game. It never affected the team's performances.

Pogba was stifled by Mourinho, that's why he called for a change in the approach in home games, and that approach is what saved Mourinho's job in that game against Newcastle. Even before then he was still the club's leader in assists and he was the top scorer (yes i know, penalties).

You said major reason, if not THE major reason. So at worse he is major reason for our league position. It's very clear.

Yeah. System is more important than individuals. Wish we see ManUtd team play like that, where everyone knows their role and gives everything to play the game.

You can agree with hurling abuse towards a player behind the safety of a keyboard though. You warrior you, keep up the good fight with those keyboard fingers

Like Voldemort in Harry Potter, and like Di Maria's on redcafe, Pogba's name should be forbidden on here, as a great evil that must not be spoken of after his Madrid transfer.

And the way a top team generally gains in consistency is by elevating the floor not elevating the ceiling, the latter is extremely hard to do and it won't give you any sort of consistency if your floor is low, that's also where people are mistaken. The players that we should target are the ones at the bottom, players like Pogba and De Gea when in form can drag the team very high but if they are not at their best the rest of the team will drag everyone below average because they are average to below average.

Which is by the way an argument to sell Pogba, if his transfer can help us finance the elevation of our floor we will be in a better situation, we can then target top players when we have that higher floor. But if we can finance it without selling Pogba then it's even better.

Disgraceful the way we are turning on our only world class outfield player. Lingard earns half what Pogba does and contributes less than half on the friend for example.
I couldn’t give a damn if our players are from Manchester personally. Rashford is asking for 200k a week essentially because he’s from Manchester.
How about we keep our best players. ie Pogba!

It’s obvious he does care about the club or else why did he come back? Takes a lot of respect & guts no matter what the fee involved. He needs support from world class midfielders and McTomminay if he keeps up his improvement.

If Rashford left do you honestly think he’d return?

I think the other players are as much to blame for the shit Pogba gets as anyone. For the money we've invested in them in transfer fees, wages and both, we should be able to expect serious contributions from Sanchez, Lukaku, Rashford, Martial, Lingard and Fred, but none of them deliver, so we expect Pogba to do it every week. He's frustrating and inconsistent but he gets disproportionate criticism because he's the only one who's genuinely shown he can do better more than a handful of times. The others have made him a lightning rod with their sheer uselessness.

The guy is a top player, but it seems he's a bad influence as well, he did it along with the others for 14 games, then they downed tools .

It's not all down to him, what it looks like from the outside is that he doesn't help himself iether? So perhaps it's better for all concerned he goes, but there's a top player in there sad to say

The fact Pogba was so shocked at the abuse just shows how poor our standards are at United these days. Roy Keane, Giggs, Scholes, Rooney, Neville, Ronaldo, feck it even the likes of Fletcher and O'Shea would be sickened if their squad had thrown two managers under the bus in 1 season.

I've never disliked a squad more, fans paying thousands of pounds a year have every right to give Pogba or anyone stick for the season they've had to watch

Dont think fans are racist but they are easily led by certain influential media outlets that do like to vilify black and foreign players and create a hatred towards them and it works.

The same Keane who acted out and threw his own teammates under the bus when he couldn't handle playing second fiddle to Chelsea and got kicked out of the club? The same Scholes who refused to play in a league cup game and got fined two weeks wages? The same same Ronaldo who refused to shake Fergie's hand after being substituted against City and kicked a water bottle and snatched a tracksuit off a kitman and threw it to the ground? The same Ronaldo who also likened himself to being a slave when he didn't get his move to Real in 07/08?

    Definitely.

I can't blame him for wanting to leave. Even before the fan had a go at him, he's been dragged in the press day in day out. Who wants to deal with that? The English press are the worst feckers. Once they start their witch hunt, they don't stop.

Yes Pogba has faults - we know that. However, the way some report on him you would think he did something to them personally.

Supporters have every right to boo him should they feel it's warranted, but that kind of abuse is too far. I don't like him, and would like to see him move on but that was too far.

Erm, what has any of that got to do with anything I posted?

My post was not about loyalty or professionalism. My post was about STANDARDS. Pogba seems content with 6th, content with turning up for 1 in every 4 or 5 games. The players I listed would not be content with the standards Pogba seems happy with.

That fan had every right to voice his concern, the standards have been shocking.

Slate me if you want but i'm still backing Pogba. I think that when he sees the garbage around him it kills a bit of motivation. Is that his fault, yes, but it's also the team's fault for failing to acquire top level talent. So I want to see us make a big impact on the team's level and then see what Pogba can do. His stats are very good considering who he's been playing with, although a decent amount of goals are from pens.

Who told you that he was content? And the players that you mentioned were surrounded by far better teammates and coached by a far better coach. When they had bad games, their teammates had the ability to hide it.
