It just works, want to see more of it. He's got the right decision making, acceleration and trickery to be a threat there. Not a huge burden when he roams out of position as well when compared to the central areas.

Well it more less relieves him of any midfield duties. He's great when all his game is just based on attacking.

That is the formation and that is his position. If Jose changes it after that I’ll personally deliver a turd through his letterbox.

Yes he's much more effective there.

What works is freeing him up to go wherever he needs to be on the pitch and drive our play forward. Bring in someone like Kanté to partner him and Matic and let Pogba roam freely and we look like a completely different team.

I think the thing about Pogba is that he is a bit like Rooney or even Giggs in a sense that when he's on form he can play a few different positions and can influence the game from all of them.

I'll lose my mind if Jose reverts back to playing him deep with Matic. We're night and day with him further forward.

What we need now is a CM that can do something similar on the right of a midfield 3. That'd free up both our 'wingers' to get central and totally change the dynamic of the attack.

He's by far our best outfield player and he should absolutely always play in his most effective position. Sticking him in a midfield two and telling him to defend is like buying a Ferrari to do the school run. Utter waste of money

Not a huge fan of playing him on the left but i like having both herrera and matic there to compliment him.

It's no surprise he plays best in a 4-3-3 - that's where he largely played for Juve and largely where I've seen him do well for France in.

Martial and Pogba are the type of players who flourish when they are relieved off their defensive duties. Who would have guessed? Skilful attacking players suddenly showing their potential when they don't have to track back.

I've said it before, I'll say it again...

Just make sure he's in a 3. He's like a midfield Wildcard, but he must, must have 2 other CMs around him.

If he'd been in a mid 2 today, we'd have not seen that great performance (from the whole team).

    Pogba - Fellaini
    .......Matic

It's no surprise that's his best position as that's where he played for Juve. The problem is Herrera is absolutely awful and offers nothing, so we need to add a new CM.

Fellaini is missed big time, as he would work very well there with Pogba and Matic.

It’s clearly his best position. On the left in a 433 he has complete freedom and he was pretty much everywhere. Having him 40-50 yards away from goal is a total waste of his talent. He is not a dictator of games he is a creator.

It’s the 433 that lets him drift out to the left and join in our attacking play, it’s the way forward for us.

It doesn't have to be the left all the time. He was given a free role in the attack and relieved off defensive duties. Another CM of similar quality is what we need on the other side and then we will have a proper midfield to challenge the best teams in Europe.

That is the Pogba we need and want to see every week. Buy a midfielder to change Herrera and a proper RW - we'd be extremely comfortable in a 4-3-3 with these additions and could even do especially well in the CL.

Clearly? I think Pogba can be both a creator and a dictator of games. Sure he has more attacking freedom on the left but I still prefer having him in a 3 man midfield with the ability to roam out wide when need be.

He's not playing on the left, he's playing as the left-sided midfielder in a 3 with licence to roam and go forward at will.

Which has always been his best role, although I think his attitude was the most pleasing thing in the second half - not his position.

The comparisons with Yaya Toure continue to ring true- he can boss the game if you let your attack revolve around him, or he can disappear playing too deep.

    He's Yaya with more flair.

And that’s the player that can take us to the next level. Just think of those years that Yaya carried the City team.

Pogba was tearing it up from a conventional CM spot earlier in the season. I wouldn't be in a hurry to jump to conclusions about how he needs to play from the left.

He's at his most dangerous when on the left. Was for Juventus, and nothing has changed. He needs to be played there if we want to see consistent top performances from him.

To be fair, he's had some good performances on the right side of midfield, as well. Rather than the position, I think it's freedom that he needs.

4-3-3 with 2 8s suits us so much better with our current squad than forcing life with a 10 in a 4-2-3-1
