I have done this multiple times over the years and the results are always about the same. The interesting thing I have always found is most people tend to be in the same area when you ask the right questions and they answer them objectively. Often in discussion and debate people get entrenched in one line of thinking and it clouds other people's views of their true political and economic beliefs.

Just for shits and giggles I am taking this test again.

I am actually pretty close the UK Green party. Will post an image when I figure it out.

I have had lots of people do this test over the years. No one gets out of the green quadrant. Even staunch GOP voters I know score well inside the green area.

Too many of the economic questions in this one seems unable to distinguish between efficiency and fairness, which makes it difficult to answer.

Didn't get the race question. Since I don't consider myself racist and I've never met anyone from another race except the human unless someone informs me of the opposite, I'd say N/a but that's not really a choice, is it?

Anyway, I answered 'Agree' on that but here's my full pic. Seems a bit too much to the left, otherwise probably as expected.

@rcoobc you've posted the generic image, you need to scroll down for your own - it has a red dot.

EDIT: I did the other one as well and ended up with Democratic Socialism.

Not surprised how far left I am socially, thought I’d be slightly more central economically though.

Yeah, pragmatism plays a large part in politics obviously and in how certain politicians are perceived. I've tried it a couple of ways though where I'll sometimes answer exactly how I feel and will sometimes answer in a way more akin to how I'd moderate certain views etc. Always end up comfortably in the bottom left-hand corner though.

Very black and white questions. A bit more nuance would make it a lot more interesting and relevant I guess.

I don't like that my dot is that close to Libertarian. I hate libertarians with a passion. Granted, the people giving libertarianism a bad name (and who I hate) are the conservative, free-market loving, corporation-fellating, dogwhistle-racist types, but still.

And yes, I'm idealistic, but I'm also a realist. I answered the questions according to my own ideals, but I know that a lot of that stuff will never become reality.

The Republican party being red is probably the single most aggravating thing about US politics.

Always knew I was like Ghandi. The wording of these questions is very suggestive though.

"You cannot be a moral person without being religious", I mean, really? Even my old school reformatory christian friend doesn't agree with this.

    or

"People with serious inheritable disabilities should not be allowed to reproduce." I mean really? Ofcourse they shouldn't be allowed to reproduce trololo

I had a student ask me about that just last week actually...

The only thing I could figure is that since the GOP used to be the liberal party in American politics, it adopted red, but by the time it flip flopped to being conservative, the colors were too ingrained in the American political landscape to change them.

BUT! Apparently we used to have the GOP as blue and the Democrats as red until the 2000 election... after that we flipped it.

    https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Red_states_and_blue_states

    In short, we’re nuts.

Hitler comes out as a centrist on that. He's about one block to the right of centre, extreme authoritarian.

I had done this before many years ago and was further to the right if I remember correctly. There's never a party I can really vote as they all support interventionism (domestic and abroad) to some degree which I abhore (be it military actions or restricting free trade and social liberties).
