French speakers, the translator says negotiations at the dead point?
    That doesn't sound good.

So contract negotiations with Martial have stalled. Most likely due to the Sanchez situation.

He’ll probably want assurances, we also have the option to extend with that extra year option don’t we?

Yeah, they allegedly had a meeting in december but Martial didn't receive any offers since.

Yeah it says in the article that his agent has met with United hierarchy in December, with an offer supposed to follow through but didn't materialize. They also say that the arrival of Alexis is stalling the offer, and that Martial was thinking of buying a house in Manchester but is having second thoughts now.

Unpopular opinion probably but apart from his debut season I really dont think he's warranted any kind of pay rise etc, I definitely dont want us to give up on him yet but he has so much more to prove and his work ethic is shocking at times,

It's painful because with more drive and hunger he can be a smashing player

Blame on both sides. While Martial could be a bit more flexible and adapt quicker in an environment when instant results are needed, Jose should recognize he has some good stats this season and should not have been messed around with due to Sanchez, who can play in other positions. Need both to sort this out ASAP.

Sounds like the usual media/agent/club circus when it comes to negotiating new contracts.

Martial was on fantastic run until Mourinho forced him to play on right side. He was the player of the month of the club on January.

Can't exactly say I blame him, we'll get rid of him and use his wage to go towards Sanchez's wage I imagine, he'll go someone and be a starter he's too good to be sat on the bench. If Mourinho sees Sanchez as the better option then so be it, perhaps a tad unfair after he was doing well on the left until Sanchez joined but that's football.

Not surprising. His role in the team is uncertain again and we continue to be linked to Bale. Management might think it better to sign Bale - or another established attacker - and sell Martial so Rashford still has a route into the team.

Our top scorers from our current squad:
    1. Mata - 39
    2. Martial - 36
    3. Zlatan - 29
    4. Rashford - 29
    5. Valencia - 25
Not bad considering he's been on the wing most of that time.

Selling our most talented attacking young player for an injured star. I don't think Jose's stupid enough to not lock Martial down. We can all see the kid's got the gift. Hope Jose can see it too.

But Mourinho said previously he's not going to sign any other forwards in summer. It doesn't make sense to sell Martial then.

Mourinho disturbed everything with putting Sanchez on the left. He should have just put him on the right and kept Martial in his favorite position on the left. Terrible decision.

Things change. Since then we've seen Alexis is first choice on the left and Martial has become a bench player again, while we are struggling to score goals. Signing Bale who is better on the right than Martial would be seems probable.

I wouldn't do it but can see it happening.

And can't stay fit and is also 29 this summer. It would be a very stupid thing to do, instead of just putting Sanchez on the right.

You're such drama queens. He's had a couple of games on the right. If it doesn't work we'll try something else.

The Sanchez thing is obviously an afterthought in all those articles. The negotiations stalled in December, for whatever reason, when we had no intention of buying anybody. The Alexis link is just to get you mugs to click.

If we lose Martial just because we brought in Sanchez to play on the left, we will have made a massive mistake. Put Sanchez on the right or centrally ffs. The left wing didn't need improving, Martial was doing well there.

That's what's disappointing to me, right wing is painfully weaker than the left and yet we sign another left winger.

This is the second talented attacker Jose has fecked over in the space of a week. Seriously, if Woodward hasn't connected the dots at this point, he needs fecking firing.

If Woodward was half smart he'd have done Martial's extension before Sanchez signing. Its completely expected that Jose would ride Sanchez and Lukaku until their legs fall off before he plays Martial consistently and he'd be looking elsewhere for regular starting spot. It wouldn't surprise me if Rashford does the same.
