    Im thinking both Welbeck and Nani will be given extended breaks following the Euros, as far as I know Smalling is still nursing the injury which ruled him out for England and I suspect we'll ease Vidic back in gradually so I'm going for;

    ---------------De Gea---------------
    Rafael---Evans---Ferdinand---Evra
    Valencia---Carrick---Scholes---Kagawa
    ---------------Rooney
    -----------------Hernandez

Subs: Lindegaard, Jones, Cleverley, Giggs, Park, Young, Powell

Think Cleverly/Anderson will get a chance instead to stake their place ahead of Scholes.

This thread would have been better if it was 'predict the team' to play in our first pre season game.

Why the feck do people think we have bought Kagawa as a winter when we have Nani, Valencia and Young?

    Valencia - Carrick - Scholes - Young

    Welbeck - Rooney

Kagawa on bench and on around the 60th for Scholes or Welbeck depending on score and how we shape up.

    1+1 = 3.

Rooney can play on the left and he's better than Young but we don't use him there because he is best centrally. Same applies to Kagawa.

    Rafael
    Ferdinand
    Vidic
    Evra

    Valencia
    Carrick
    Modric
    Nani

    Rooney
    Hernandez

SUBS: Lindegaard, Jones, Smalling, Scholes, Kagawa, Young, Welbeck.

So that means potentially no Alba/Baines(?), Evans, Anderson, Giggs, Park, Fabio(?), Cleverley, Fletcher(?), Powell or Amos.

Oh, and potentially no Modric I guess  but one can dream.

That's just a shit comparison, Rooney is not a winger in the slightest, he can barely dribble ffs.

Kagawa is suited to playing on the wing and drifts there even when playing centrally. Unlike Rooney, Kagawa is equally suited to playing on the left as in the middle, he can play both positions.

Rooney played there two seasons ago. It's not a shit comparison, we don't play with inside forwards, we play with wide men which Kagawa certainly is not. Our wingers are expected to track back, something Kagawa has never been expected to do.

He is not going to play as a winger for us, full stop.

Yes Pexbo, it is a shit comparison.

As I said before, Rooney cannot play both positions, he is just a striker. Kagawa is comfortable and suited to playing wide.

    It's not complicated.

The other part of your post was even dafter than the part I responded to.

In your mind, Kagawa can't play wide because he is in some way physically or mentally incapable of tracking back.

    Adds up..
