Givet looks remarkably similar to Batistuta.

Givet sent off. This could end up in double figures.

Using location as a tagline: because I'm just not
    There are.

For example, Alex Song. He deserves a *** fest more than Scott Parker.

Disgusting tackle from Givet. His stud came up at the last second.

Any result here would have made me happy. Arsenal losing is funny. Blackburn losing is great because I hate them.

Lot of empty seats there today.

What a strange comment, Parker has had a better season so far than Song.

All too easy for Arsenal, Blackburn don't look bothered.

My stream has no commentary, it's great :D

Yeah, that's why he'll probably leave this summer. Unless there's a change in the way Arsenal is run (signings and - more importantly - selling) I can't see RvP wanting to sign a new contract. He's good enough to play for a team that's challenging for the CL and for the league and he's turning 29 this August, so he has to move away from Arsenal before he signs a new contract if he wants more trophies.

I didn't think the Givet tackle was that bad. It looked worse than it was because after the impact he raised his feet but at the point of contact (whilst his studs were up) he wasn't high at all. Indicated by the fact he caught RVP on the top of the foot.

Agreed. 29 goals and 7 assists in all competitions so far.. not even taking into consideration how inconsistent Arsenal have been, that's ridiculous.

Will Van Persie cope well with losing his pace as he gets older?
Or has his game never been reliant on pace anyway?

I seem to remember him being fairly pacey..not walcott/lennon fast, but no slouch either.

Basically if he wasn't so riddled with injuries in previous seasons he would be topping the goalcharts pretty much all the time. Best striker in the world right now by a mile.

You've answered your own question there. He was quicker when he was younger, injuries took some of his pace but his intelligence and skill level is so high that at the moment he's the best striker in the world without being the quickest.

If they can make the top four this year (entirely possible) and buy one good player this summer, they will be quite good next year after Wilshire returns and Oxlaide continues to improve.

Well, they had that bin-bag thing organised today. Guessing a few people stayed at home as well to highlight the issue. Snow and generally cold weather probably didn't help either though.

So in short: I don't know.

The fact that Givet himself (and the rest of the Blackburn team) accepted it right away pretty much tells you that it was the correct decision. Could easily have broken his ankle if the Arsenal player hadn't jumped.

I think he'll cope fine. His assist for the 3rd goal shows that he's got a lot more than just goals in his locker. Obviously he makes good use of his pace, but I think he's smart enough to adapt his game as he gets slower. Could easily be a top striker for 4-5 more years as I see it.

How many times have that been said before, though? "If Arsenal can just buy one good player, they'll be up there among the very best". Thing is, they sell a great player rather than buy one. RvP's contract runs out after next season and it's very possible that Arsenal will want to cash in while they have the chance to do so. On current form they can get quite a lot for him, even with only a year left on his contract.

This match is over. If I was Wenger, I'd take RVP off and give him a rest. Why not give Park a chance from a position of strength?

    Ridiculous ticket prices.

People wont pay those sort of prices every week, ecspecially an early K/O against Blackburn.
