This will be Real's first 'proper' game of pre-season so we should look the better side hopefully.

I just want the season to start already. These pre-season matches aren't doing anything for me apart from making me hate this transfer window even more.

This will literally be a cricket score to Real

Jose to character assassinate the entire squad.

Martial will be flogged publicly for his role in the defeat

Weird seeing their squad knowing that Ronaldo isn’t there any more.

I reckon the club hates this tour as much as Jose. These lineups are pathetic and no recognised striker really can't be a selling point for our brand and marketting.

The club has presumably organised it :D

Ditto the one immediately post the 2014 World Cup, which LvG hated, despite doing well on it.

The pathetic lineups are due to so many of our players taking part (and by and large performing well) in the WC. It would seem sensible to have organised something much more low key, involving less travelling, in a post WC summer. But we have American owners who appear clueless about football and are only interested in getting the exposure, even if it results in a negative image.

Is it forbidden to provide some entertainment for the local fans who have paid good money to watch their favourite team play?

    Too much to ask?

The mood here is depressing. No way Real beats us convincingly tomorrow.

Madrid haven’t played a game this preseason and just landed in Miami yesterday. They’ll be jet lagged and more than a bit flat. A good chance for Mou to get some positive momentum going

Well Jose told them not to waste their money so there's that. Its just best for everyone that the season gets under way as soon as possible.

    And if they do?

We won't be able to use the ol' pre-season match fitness excuse anymore.....

Really though, even without the pre-season advantage, Real's squad still looks like it will do us over.

Apparently it doesn't matter if we get beat because they're meaningless friendlies, so with that in mind, plus all the senior players have got more minutes in their legs than is the norm and to keep playing them risks injury how about just playing the kids against Real Madrid, if they get shown their backsides so be it, and those that perform best put themselves forward to be selected in the starting XI against Bayern where the fit first-team players will have to return so close to the start of the season.

Seeing as our creativity is non-existent, I doubt we're gonna be seeing anything other than a draw.

Just trying to be positive here. I simply don't feel that Madrid is going to have a very good game here. Lopetegui's first game with the squad and little preparation time together with jet lag must account for something.

And if we lose, well it's the reigning 3 time European champions

Do we have anyone remotely first team level back yet? Seems to be Sanchez + kids in every game so far, hardly surprising we have struggled.

It is not good for them to get smashed 6-0.

It's Real Madrid's 1st pre-season match so I don't think they would win 6-0, and even if they did the young lads would learn more of what's required of them to make the step up from that, than being thrown on for the last few minutes as will probably be the case.

They dont gain anything by getting smashed. We still need our first team players to actually play because the season is approaching. There is little to gain from naming a youth eleven.
