The break didn't help. I just feel apathetic now. Plus, it's getting too silly for me. Lincoln's mother's a big cheese. What?!!!

It just keeps getting worse. The plot is one convoluted mess. That whole pregnancy thing last episode had me cringe as well. I'm just watching it to see how they end it all.

I've gone this far, so I'll stick with it to see how it ends. But if they'd ended it after the first season it would probably be considered a classic, as things stand it's just a bit daft.

Been going steadily downhil since season 2 but theres like 2 episodes left so I'll finish it, if only for nostalgic reasons for it being so good in season 1

It's become load of shite. I've been watching from the beginning so I feel guilty if I miss an episode. The last 2 weeks has been a pile of shit.

    When does it actually finish?

Only watch this out of habit to see how it finishes. Michael's 'acting' can be perceived that he's just trying to make everything intense. Imagine him and Sara at a restaurant:

Michael: *intense* 'Waiter, I want some water.'
    Waiter: No wine, sir?
Michael: *intense* No. *close up of his face*

*Prison break jingle... and ad break*

I thought this series was ok before the break. Went gay near the end but it wasn't a bad watch, but as GE pointed out, the last two episodes have been awful.

One good point of the show for me is the discovery of the brothers and their acting talents.

Lincoln and Michael are like the Pacino and De Niro of the TV world.

 Yeah, they are quite terrible to be honest.

Mahone is by far the best actor on the show in my opinion.

im glad it is finishing, Series 1 is the greatest season of TV ive ever seen, season 2 wasnt too bad, series 3 was ok and tbh i actually liked the beginning of this season, only felt it went too quickly with them getting the cards, maybe if the whole season was about them getting the cards it would have been better.

T-Bag is good aswell, as was Abruzzi and Kellerman.

But yeah I would go for Mahone as the Creme de la Creme.

First season was amazing and the second was good (the open world gave the series a new dynamic) but after that, it's been steadily shit

Ok so I have just finished season one. I thought it was pretty hokey and often relied too much on a formula of 1. create hurdle, 2. knock down hurdle. I found the political and legal casework stuff rather tedious. However, inside the prison there were enough fun characters and situations to keep me entertained. It also has a pace and energy to it that kept me gripped. By the end I was really caught up in the silly world. I was dissapointed with the season finale, as it offered little catharsis or any sense of a conclusion to the chapter. It was just another cliff hanger problem - that will no doubt be easily solved in the next episode with another trap door escape.

And so my question is, should I stick with it, in the hope of getting some closure, or does the show just string the audience along for another season? I'm not sure I have the time or energy to do it all again if there is no pay offs. Particularly if they continue down the 'company' story path.

Yea you will be strung along for another 3 seasons.

I loved the first season so much, enough for me to put up with the merry-go-around just to see what happens in the end. Not sure many others would have the patience I did, mind you.

Season 1's as good as it gets and you'll find very few cathartic moments at any point in this series. I think the only good thing that happens after the first season is they bring in Mahone but even then he's a bit sketchy.

Yeah season one was great. As far as I'm aware it was supposed to be a one season show but it was far more popular than they expected it to be so the network kept it going. Just like Homeland.

I finally got around of watching it last month, and finished all the 4 seasons in about 2 weeks (had loads of free time).

Have to say, the first 2 seasons were great. It really kept me on the edge, wondering what would happen in the next episode. 3rd season onwards, it went downhill, really. Everything they showed, or tried to, was preposterous. They are just breaking in and out of everything possible.

Watch the whole first series, I enjoyed all 4 but it does go a bit downhill especially in the last series. But series one is some of the best writing I've ever seen its just so clever.

T-Bag was the best character in the whole series, quality acting. Even more so when you actually hear the actor interviewed.
