Oh agreed, and he's still at it now. But my point is Rooney played through his youth while Ronaldo got the occasional mid winter break in his early years. Did that contribute to his longevity? Hard to tell as he's a determined so and so anyway.

No worries about Rashford either, while his appearance statistics are high for his age, he's often sub or been subbed.

Something else to consider is the genetics. I think Owen was more genetically pre-disposed to those injuries (I recall an interview of him saying his dad or his brother suffered similar injuries).

Besides i don't think we're overplaying Marcus Rashford. Right now he's getting all the games, but if Lukaku/Sanchez get into form, that'll be a different story, there will be more rotation at the top.

The change in form since Mourinho left has been remarkable. I know Redknapp's comment was over the top, but when you look at how things have panned out, if Mourinho had stayed on long term you wouldn't blame Rashford for leaving. If he was in this form for another club, you'd have to conclude he was right to leave.

Good job Mourinho was shown the door before that ever had a chance of becoming a reality.

Owen admit it was due to genetics not due to burn out. He admitted his family were also had the same problems, in fact Owen doesn’t believe burn out even a thing in the football. At the end of the day it depends on Rashford natural fitness as well.

"Look at Rashford now, there were even talks of selling him in the summer" - Jamie Redknapp

There were no talks, it was just you desperate for him to leave you cnut.

In a fair world he wouldn't be given a platform to talk the moronic shite that he does, let alone getting paid for it.

A little over the top, but now we can see how something massive needed to change for Rashford. Under Mourinho he was either putting in average shifts on the wing, or getting 2 or 3 games up front a season, where he'd be rusty, then the manager would call him out for it afterwards.

Can you imagine. Mourinho still around, Pogba, Rashford and Martial gone (after the summer at least), perhaps De Gea and Lindloef as well. Could have been the situation, really. And Mourinho were to replace them with whom?

Rashford and Lindelöf would still be here, they got plenty of game time, even if mismanaged by the miserable one, but still no personal trouble. The other 3 probably not, because Pogba and Martial had some personal issues with him and De Gea wouldnt see any chances for trophies.

Rumours of Martial wanting to extend his contract came during Joses tenure. DDG as well while he backed Linelof to the hilt.

Hard to say anyway, which demands Mourinho would have for the summer window, what other players he would fall out with. Rashford didn´t have it in his genes to score goals. Which other players would disappoint him before end of season. Pointless to speculate, of course, but I think it´s safe to say that United is today a more attractive club than it was a couple of months ago.

Rashford needed to leave the management of Jose Mourinho to really kick on.

Redknapp has been proven right once again.

There are still posters who have the opinion Mourinho needed to be backed, buy Perisic, Willian etc and get rid of the players he didn't want. The reason he failed was because the club didn't spend money.

In hinddight he probably needed to leave if Jose Mourinho was going to be there for the forseeable future. Rashford would still be stuck as a winger/forward on either flank or on the bench constantly.

But thanks to OGS, he's back on the same road as when he was playing under LVG... as is Martial for that matter.

Why the hate. Redknapp was right. As we can ALL see. Those who kept saying ‘he’s getting minutes’ need to be the ones questioned.
