Given the last thread we made was ages ago thought it'd be fun to try and do something with a little more rules to make it more interesting and come up with some more unusual names. On the 1st January we'll refuse any more entries. We'll then review all of the lists come December 2018 and see who's the king of Scouting. Given we're starting now, it also gives a chance for players who may not be making appearances this season to flourish next season. Feel free to name players from all over the World.

The Caftard with the best list may also win a prize. Maybe. @Damien

    Rules:
1 - Must have 50 apps or less in senior football. Any youth competition will not be counted.
    2 - Players must be 19 or less by 1st January 2018.
3 - Caftard can only post 5 player names.
4 - No post editing, Mods will eat your face.
5 - If you want a longer term punt then feel free to write down a 6th name (won't be part of your final 5) to look back in the future and say "knew he'd come good eventually".

    Judging Who's Won:
A panel will be selected to create a list of 5 caftards with the best lists. A poll will then be made and we'll have a vote off, caftard with the highest percentage wins. This will be done in a years time, December 2018.

Example of players who break the above rules:

    - Mbappe
    - Pulisic
    - Donnarumma
    - Lafont
    - Upamecano
    - Ryan Seesagnon

All have 50+ senior apps. I could name more, but it's easy to find out how many apps they've had with transfermarkt.co.uk or the like.

sorry to be an arse and what with it being near the end of the year do you mean players who turned 20 this year are eligible for this, or do you mean 19 or under for 1st Jan 2018? I'll edit my list if needed.

    Douglas Luiz
    Brahim Diaz
    Kai Havertz
    Justin Kluivert
    Ryan Sessegnon

They have to be 19 or under by the 1st January 2018.

So Maffeo and Gomez are both 20 atm and thus not allowed. Can't believe I forgot Sessegnon.

I honestly think Ryan Sessegnon will be a superstar, and i also think he will adapt to a winger/inside forward, and only 17.

Only two I think are close to certain to make an impact at highest level.

The rest I only really know U17 English players tbh I quite like George McEchran and Foden/Gomes but would like to see more of other countries before I commit to remaining players in shortlist. When's deadline?

Correct 53 apps. So he wont count in any lists. Updated OP with him in example.

No bias here. You should probably take Brewster out considering he's at Liverpool now. You could surely fit another actual Chelsea player in instead.

I only really watch Chelsea's youth sides! My list is a bit of a joke but they're certainly all very highly rated.

I've no idea how so many posters can have an opinion of all these kids thatthey've never seen play more than once or twice.

True, that. In fairness, the Chelsea kids seem to be extremely highly regarded. Not sure what happened with Brewster moving to Liverpool (?) but he is the one that I've heard of most from your list. He has an insane scoring record for England at youth levels.

Much easier route into the first team at a side who does not challenge for titles. Can't really blame them.

I just heard on the Football Weekly podcast that George Graham use to scout using newspapers so I will never disparage Youtube scouting again.

Am surprised no one has mentioned Amine Harit from Schalke. I believe he is one to watch. I see some similarities with Zidane in the way he release his passes. He is what i had hoped Januzaj would become.

    Amine Harit
    Justin Kluivert
    Houssem Aouar

Edit: i just realised the player has to be 19 and below so Harit doesn't count i guess.

He also signed players based on how much money he would personally make in illegal payments. Using newspaper reports is a step up from that!
