This time around - I don't think it's knee jerk. Out against Basle in the group stages of the CL? Against Athletic Bilbao in the Europa league? Against Crystal Palace in the league cup?
And throw away a bloody 8 point lead, all the while crowing about all the experience we have?
No, I guess a reaction is deserved this time round... And I guess SAF will get it from the team. And I think there's going to be some moderate to major rebuilding of the team now.

NextSeason already adopting a Liverpool mentality judging by his user name and the thread.

So there's been a John Terry (knee jerk reaction). So what?? If the players showed half the passion that the supporters do, it might be a different story. When people are upset, things get said in the heat of the moment. And if people aren't upset about the title possibly going to City, there's more wrong with them than there is the people who are showing a bit of emotion even if that emotion is a bit OTT.

I hate the condescending mass generalization displayed in the OP.People are upset after being in such a great position to win title, it's a perfectly natural reaction

Nothing wrong with being upset at a derby defeat of this magnitude. Would you rather we create a RAWKesque thread about our titles and post in there. Get a grip. Some of the stuff said has been over the top but its to be expected really.

Perspective? We've surrendered an 8 point lead in just 4 games. Meaning we now have to rely on other teams doing us a favour otherwise our city rivals will win the league. How's that for perspective?

I have no idea either, yet.

One thread you get abuse for boundless optimism, and another you get abused for saying says City are better.

A lot of the posters on this board are a bit spoilt but I think on the whole, there tends to be a lot less knee-jerking on here than on other football boards.

You've just surrendered an 8 point lead in 19 days. That's the kind of collapse we specialise in. There's a very real possibility you'll end the season trophyless.

Personally, I think Ferguson is the only reason you've stayed in this long in the first place but I'm not sure quite what reaction you expect when you've seemingly just lost the title at one of your biggest rivals and without a whimper as well.

On a day like today, I'm just grateful for the Newbie system... it could be a lot worse around here otherwise...

Anyone saying that United are shit is deluded. We've got some good players in there, some are world class (Vidic, Rooney etc) while other have great potential. This season was a bit unfair to them mainly because they are still young and also because of the injuries.

However we've got one big problem in CM and it wont be solved by playing kids, rely on the old guard to produce miracles, or moving defenders, wingers and strikers in CM. Ando and Clev are injury prone, Giggs and Scholes can't be relied on for long, Fletch is sick, Pogba is just a kid and Park is a bloody winger.

What worries me also is our attitude towards the Shitty and Bilbao's games. Even if United were SHITE (which we are not) you'll expect some reaction and pride from the players on the pitch. FFS we played the derby and we werent able to give 1 shot on target. Where's the pride lads? Where is the fear of losing your place (synonomous in playing with a big club) if you dont produce week in week out? It seems that its accepted now for players to vanish in treatment rooms for months at a regular rate or pass from long spells of bad form. We didnt had that during the treble season didn't we?

To conclude We're better then what we've shown in the Shitty game or against Basile/Athletic Bilbao however those results are screaming for action from the United front. Lets get off our high horse and act.
