Liverpool legend retires

He was playing till now?
I completely forgot he played for Liverpool.
I do love Liverpool and their wacky dealings.
Shame he spent his last season in anonymity. Wish him luck.
Rickie Lambert played for Liverpool.
Never forget that
I would also retire if Woy gave me a call and said he wanted to sign me.
I can only imagine him playing for Southampton
Or Norwich. Even though he didn't play for them.
Solid two goals for Liverpool in just one season, which makes him one of their more successful buys. Not as great as Carroll or Ngog though, with their 6 and 9 goals respectively.
He worked in a beetroot factory dontchaknow.
Is he celebrating?
He also had 10+ England caps.
No wonder other nations laugh at us.
He played in a world cup. Never forget this.
Was linked with Palace a day ago.
Cant blame him for retiring.
I saw him play for West Brom live. Absolutely bloody awful, looked unfit and completely disinterested.
That Liverpool move not working out probably really got to him.
If only Andy Carroll was not injured all the time, imagine that strike force
Fair play to him. Was a lower league player for fecking yonks, then eventually made it to the top flight and did well enough to play for England as well as his his boy-hood club.
Had a decent career, fair play to him.
I never realised he was that old. Always assumed he was early 30s cause he never hit form until his mid 20s. Did well all things considered.
Eh, as ridiculous as it may seem he'd gotten 15 and 13 goals in two PL seasons consecutively, which isn't awful. Not a particularly remarkable player but was probably semi-worthy of a call-up to that England team.
Had a v good career, fair play to him.
And scored on his England debut. What’s your point?
There’s been worse players playing for England, believe that
Was a great striker for Southampton.
Could have been subject of the greatest football fans player chant ever if Southampton fans had any wit.
"Rickaaaaaay! Rickaaaaaay! Rickaaaaaay!"
I still find it bizarre Liverpool signed him.
Why? He was always going to be 3rd/4th choice, cost next to nothing, and was willing to run through walls for the club.
Great for Southampton, not so much for us, but his story is a great one, and he forged a solid career for himself overall. In hindsight, perhaps he should've stayed at Southampton, but ahh well.
Our song for him!
He stood just over 6ft3,
He took us to the Premier League,
He got the ball,
He took the ****.
He wore the shirt of Matt Le Tiss.
Southampton's goal machine.
He was great for us and cost £1 million which was quite some money for a league 1 club at the time.
Could do with goals now!
Forgot to mention, he's also the top goal scorer in England this millennium!
Fair fecks to him. He made more out of his career than he had any right to. Got to play for his boyhood club and for England as well before it was all over.
Much better player than Andy Carroll.
218 goals is not bad at any level. Good luck to him
I liked Rickie Lambert, don't know why though. Assumed he retired ages ago.
Liverpool have signed some shite over the years. Not that he's a particularly bad player but never a top level striker.
Had an amazing career, fair play to him.
I still remember some poster from RAWK saying he was a great signing.
Separate names with a comma.
