I hope they make the cnut play in curly slippers and a Fez.
That Times interview was interesting. He's had several digs at LVG using SAF/Wenger as examples of people and top managers which he has almost vaguely hinted LVG is not.
It's really hard to find players as classy as him in this day and age. Total class act.
LVG shouldn't have let him go until we found a replacement for him. He could still guarantee you 10-15 goals a season and some great hold-up play and first touch and intelligence. We should have kept him for one more year unless we signed a Cavani/Bale/Muller/Lacazette/Benzema. The EURO would have kept him motivated.
This might come to haunt us at key moments during the season when we lack the class up front.
Agree with this. He still had something to offer, and for the money we got we may as well have lost him on a free next year anyway
Imagine LVG seeing all that Chaos on the field no philosophy, no structure, people dribbling and pinging balls all about. He would have a heart attack I recon. Definitely will be more than twitching his ass
Have we now announced his transfer?
Still no fee agreed?
Yeah, the lack of confirmation from our end is odd.
It was announced almost two weeks ago:
Interestingly (or maybe not interesting at all) it was never put on the twitter / front page, but rather it was hidden away.
We announced it ages ago.
Ah, so we did. Surprised that no 'good luck' tweet was sent out. We do that with reserve loans.
@Lay I made this separate thread for discussing his time as a Fenerbahce player. I think that other one by @Rozay is to discuss his entire career in context with other players.
Is it just me or have we still not announced this deal....or did i miss the inevitable video comp?
It was announced on the Utd website, not on Twitter though.
I mean shit the link is just a few posts above you
Haha, how reliable is the club's official website though? not official until it is on twitter
Cant believe Fenerbahce got knocked out their team is pretty solid on paper. Even without RVP I thought they would win both legs comfortably but judging by the scoreline they got smashed tonight. That being said shakhtar are no donkeys.
Fenerbahce pay for Manchester United fan to meet Robin van Persie after youngster was reduced to tears by Dutchman's exit
That kid needs to man up.
I see he scored the match-winning goal in the 90th minute today. His first goal for his new club? Anyone got a gif of it?
Just watched last 15 mins, it was like watching english 3rd league, nice header from RVP but if RVP and Nani don't shine at that level we were totally right to sell them.
Can't agree more! RvP has wanted to stay so it's a no brainer. It was not a situation where he wanted to leave and gave up on us. All hes asking was give him a honest chance. He can execute some magic and turn a draw to a win, or a loss to a win. I miss him!
Is it me or does it look as if he was trying to head to the opposite corner?
he wanted to stay and play, with his terrible stamina he could only last for about 30 minutes so he wouldn't be given much gametime. he decided to leave as he was probably told that he will be rooney's back up... We've seen enough games to justify that Rooney and RVP are utter shit together on the pitch. Fenerbahce is RVP's level. I am glad Januzaj will get his minutes
The goal was more on the bad defending of the player than the brilliance of rvp
Awwww bless him
Lovely move by fener though
Can't remember which game it was but I remember RVP going to the line to hug Fergie after he scored a goal. That was really touching. Fergie retiring has hit him big time.
Reminds me of Ole, when he said that he'd get such confidence when SAF would say to the team, "if you don't score, don't worry, we'll just send on Ole and he'll score".
Nani has been getting slated already for his poor performances.
Really? He didn't do nothing of notice in these 15 mins as fas as i remember but i don't know how he is doing there.
