On MNF tonight, been surprisingly decent. Not the most eloquent, but better than I imagined. Actually interesting and insightful when talking about attacking play.

Meh he's hardly reinventing the wheel with his analysis, he's about to speak about United so that'll be interesting

Really surprised me. The most articulated i’ve ever seen him. 2 scousers on together and understood every word remarkably

He's a bit shit, but likable as a character. Carragher has had to bail him out a few times.

Punditry seems to be the standard for top English footballers when they retire now so no doubt he's warming himself up for it.

I don't think he's been good at all.

He's so inarticulate, and he's got nothing to really say anyway.

There's been a few times he's been struggling and carragher has had to step in and talk for him.

Rooney's story about how he earned Roy Keane's respect by switching to the X-Factor and hiding the remote whilst Roy Keane wanted to watch rugby sounds like something a child would make up in the playground to impress his mates :lol:

    Bless him.

The humility he shows when talking about taking the back seat to CRonaldo is great to see.

Nothing really surprising said about his time here with us, Carragher should have asked about the transfer requests

Underappreciated for both club and country throughout his whole career. Will definitely go down as a true great over time.

I haven't seen it but the praise I see him getting is likely a result of low expectations.

Interesting he says his best position was no9 and at the same time doesn't think of himself as a goal-scorer.

Also, was a bit surprised he chose Tevez as his best forward partnership.

These clips are making me sad. The counter attacking pace and power was a thing of beauty. People praise the current Liverpool team for example, but Rooney, Ronaldo, Tevez, Saha, Park, Nani etc was on another level.

Absolutely incredible that season. The complete centre forward. What could have been if he didn't pick up that injury in that shitty night against Bayern.

Thought he did alright. He's never been great when the cameras were on him but he was able to at least give a little insight. Maybe with time he might improve if its something be would like to move into when he hangs up his boots.

I know I'm biased but quality counter attack football with pace and power is the best type of football to watch. I've always enjoyed it more than possession based tiki taka football.

Always loved him and respected him he is one of this club legends. Hope if he is warming up to be a pundit then he speaks big about us like Garry does.

Good insight at the end, to be fair. Always interesting when you get contemporary players coming in, instead of old farts from the 70s.
