17 year old English kid making his debut for Everton today. Heard great things about him. Watching him at the moment and his first few touches and passes have been great. One for the future?

I've heard good things about him too. There was a Everton Youth Academy coach or director or something on a radio station that said he was the best talent they've had since Rooney.

He's looked very good so far, has a bit of class and confidence on the ball it seems.

I saw him two or three times for Everton reserves and England..........really a outstanding talent.

But he must stay fit in the next years, he had a bad injury (Broken leg) already in his career.

You think Ross Barkley has a hot body...?

He has looked handy on the ball I have to admit.

He's a professional footballer. He better have a good body. Haven't seen it. No topless celebrations or taking off the shirt after the match.

Midfielder. Played on the left and in the center but from what I understand he is more of a central player. He has a good first touch and nice awareness to beat his man and a very good passing game. Same sort of passing range as Rooney when he drops deep. Mature decision making for a 17 year old. Motm for them today.

Will he cost more than Rodwell? Maybe we should set up a direct debit with Everton's academy

Hopefully he goes the same way as Ronney and not the direction like Jeffers.

He just seems to have genuine talent. Hope he stays fit because this Everton team need some inspiration if they can't afford to buy anyone.

Kenwright has admitted they have to sell players in order to pay back the banks. If Barkley pans out this season, it's only a matter of time before he leaves. And he's young, British, and plays in central midfield. Hmm......

Apparently played well today again. This guy is a genuinely exciting prospect. I'll be following his progress closely.

I'm unsure if this is the most up-to-date thread on the lad (In fact, I'm sure it isn't as there's been discussions on him before here), but feck me, what a talent he is.

I think he's the talismanic midfield player we've been looking for with nigh-on a decade.

I watched the last 20 mins on a shit stream so couldn't really make him out that well. That Deulefeu looked really good though. It's annoying that Barkley seems to have his best games when I'm not watching.

Far too selfish and not composed enough when he had the 1 v 1 to score. Not really a good game from him.

Forget Baines....there is no player in the P.L (which we realistically can get) that I want more than Barkley.

I only saw him towards the end but his footwork amd dribbling looked good. As with most young players, the decision making wasn't there. That's not something to worry about too much with a young player.
