England are going to go owl the way this summer.
I don't know. But if I had to pull 10 names out my ass, Hodgson wouldn't be there. I'm not saying he'll flop or be a success. I'm just like, wow.
The reporter asks:
"What about the Euros, are we going there to win?"
We have no chance of winning it, what a ridiculous question, ffs!
Who was that journo who just asked about Redknapp? Idiot, grow up.
Nick Collins asked about Rio and Terry but how likely is it that they both be in the XI or the squad?
In my unbiased opinion, I think England made the right choice, if it came down to Roy or Harry. Roy is far more tactically astute than Harry.
I'm interested. Name ten managers you'd prefer that England could actually get.
I won't even insist on them being English, as the FA apparently have.
I don't think it's a bad choice.
He needs to sort out the Terry thing for a start, and appoint a captain.
Me personally? I'd leave Terry out, and make Gerrard captain (if he remains fit).
All piss taking aside, isn't it nice to see a guy who's worked his whole life with the dream throughout his career being to manage his country. One bad spell at Liverpool shouldn't distract from the fact he's a talented manager with a lot of integrity (possibly too much for the England job, but there you go).
"Will Stuart Pearce be putting out the cones?"
Why not give him a chance ?
After the last few managers and shelling out 5m a year on a guy that produced a team that didn't look at all interested to even be at the tournament, what's the worst that could happen ?
I agree fully and sincerely. I have a lot of time for Roy.
You forget amidst the madness that he's one of the few managers who has always said he'd view being his country's manager as the highest honour he could receive. He's already ahead of Capello on that score.
Judging by the questions being asked by the journos, they're gonna make this job very very hard for Hodgson.
I give it 5 more minutes before the journalists start chanting Dalglish.
The sad thing is that there is no way for him to succeed at the Euros. If he gets to the Quarter's that will be a disappointment for the journalists. If he gets to the Semi's it will just be enough.
Seriously, every other question is about Arry'. feck off!
I meant who I'd think the FA would select. But here goes
Redknapp, Pearce, Martinez... I'm scraping the barrel here
He said that? Good man
These reporters asking about Redknapp, do they not realise how childish and from their point of view unpatriotic they sound?
Sticking the boot in and undermining Hodgson at the first press conference is hardly to the benefit of the national team. Supporters indeed, rats in the gutter more like.
Much prefer Roy to Harry.
fecking hell this press conference is unbelievable, the English media are twisting their tits off in rage that Redknapp never got the job. His names been mentioned more than Roy's for feck sake.
The media are the reason why nobody will ever succeed at that job. Fergie would never have taken it for that reason, and also being Scottish of course.
I hate journalists so much.
Unfortunately not, but that's the answer it deserved...
british journos in farcical behaviour shocker
whats the rawk reaction?
Probably the best Englishman for the Job atm, Spurs Epic collapse and Levy wanting a zillion pounds to release Harry probably worked against him, that and the fact he's tactically a retard.
Ian Holloway would have been brilliant if the FA had some balls.
The press are such a bunch of whiners.
Don't know why the FA Press Officer didn't just say no questions about 'Arry.
Would he though? His teams invariably defend horribly. He'd be entertaining, but I'm not sure he'd be anything like the best man for the job.
Journos didn't get their best pal 'Arry so they are going to treat Roy like shit from the get go.
Your acting like England have ever been able to defend
It'd been great to see him go "Right lads, just go for it!". Plus his press conferences would make Englands inevitable knockout funnyer.
I like how they think Glen Johnson won't be taken due to being a Liverpool player, rather than due to being possibly the worst player to ever feature in an international tournament.
A distinct lack of the letter r in that whole press conference from the blokes behind the desk.
However, I'm pleased with Roy's appointment. Just hope the Liverpool boys don't poison the other players opinions before they start Euros prep. Hodgson was accused of too long team talks / too long training sessions... don't think any of the England boys should complain about that to be honest, they need all the help they can get!
That presser wasn't even the writen media just tv and radio but it is likely to be be even worse.
De ja vu for Roy with regards to the Liverpool job. Fans didn't get Dalglish so they treated him like shit.
Right that's enough of RAWK.

He'll do a fantastic job right the way through the England camp. He's be involved with the Under 21's, Under 19's, and the England B team. He'll give players like Agbonlahor, Bent, Jarvis, Lennon, time to prove themselves.
What I'm not 100% on is if he will get the best out of players. I'm not worried about tactical ability, just whether the "A team" players and media will take to him.
Couldn't have asked for a better choice though really.
feck off wilkins
well done Woy, and good luck - boy will you need it !
I haven't really been following this. What the feck happened to Harry? Is there any suggestion that he turned it down?
Separate names with a comma.
