The FA or whoever must be seriously out of touch with current events if they didn’t know where Sanchez was that day every man and his dog knew.

If I am not mistaken it should be Arsenal's fault because Sanchez was technically an Arsenal player at that time during the drug test, he was away because he went to Old Trafford but Arsenal failed to inform FA or UEFA about it.

I doubt we will get fined, we can appeal it as well and we got a good reason to explain it. Let Arsenal take the responsibility and consequence.

Interestingly, they were happy to leave the City player who missed the test anonymous, but they couldn't name Sanchez fast enough.

From your second link. So there's zero chance Sanchez gets suspended.

Interesting how un-free players are during the football season, though.

How did they not know his whereabouts? Were they not following the Sanchez thread?

Come on. We didn't have a clue where he was either. He was still Arsenal's player anyway until he put pen to paper for us.

A nothing story to every club except us. Involves Man Utd, so of course it's news.

Ignoring the merits of the whereabouts system, you'd think the testers would have enough gumption to find out where he was on a day that the media was filled with stories detailing his precise movements.

You would think that right in the middle of a player changing clubs is not the right time to do a test as he was obviously going to be on the move.

Indeed. Maybe it's just one bloke carrying pots of piss around without any access to social media, news websites or a mobile phone?

Deadline day? This summer then? Transfer bans for both Arsenal and City then please.

I wouldn't even go as far as blaming Arsenal. Both clubs were a bit busy trying to negotiate a high profile transfer and since everyone with a television, internet or even a paper knew where Alexis was, they probably assumed the FA knew.

If you're carrying pots of piss, the last thing you want to be doing is fiddling around with your phone. That's asking for trouble.

But that's not going to stop us spamming sensationalist headlines and reaching out to everyone we can think of for comment, because clicks > actual news.

    Waterproof now, aren't they?

Anyway, it at least explains the Pep or Money schtick: Sanchez obviously didn't have a pot to piss in at Arsenal. B'dum tish.

As a self-proclaimed United fan while growing up he should have known better than anyone else that you can't miss drug tests. Didn't he learn anything from Rio's case? Hope they set a strong precedent and ban him for 16 months.

I think the issue is that Arsenal didn't inform the testers that Sanchez wasn't going to be there when they turned up to test him. It looks like an Arsenal problem as a breach of the whereabouts rule.

I still don't understand after 15 years how Rio got an 8-month ban for missing one test by a matter of hours, yet other clubs (heh) have repeatedly missed tests and get only a fine?

We tracked him through the air from London to Manchester. We knew where he was at every minute.

As a United supporter since 1913, I feel this behavior is disgusting. This wouldn't have happened under Sir Matt during the good old united days. Nowadays, we've acquiring disgusting and negligent players. Our neighbours Liverpool though, now they're an excellent role model for any club to follow. They've assembled a good non-doping team full of spirited young lads.

He never actually say he's a fan. He said he always wanted to play for United.

The conspiracy theorist in me wonders if City helped somehow with this ‘random’ selection process.

Or were they too busy looking up at the orange tree convincing themselves the juicy oranges at the top are the same as the worm infested ones at the bottom.

I acknowledged the deadline day mistake in an edit (I was still half asleep when I posted it) before your post was made, and according to the reports he did miss the test. Please share your source to the contrary?
