Lindelof, Mkhitaryan, Darmian, Shaw. Can't think of any others.

Lindelof is new and I’m willing to give him time.

Add Lingard and Mata though this is just my wishful thinking.

I’d be delighted to see Herrera, Mkhitaryan, Fellaini, Shaw, Valencia and Darmian replaced ASAP so if we can move some out in January we should do it. Only if we can get our desired replacements though which is obviously unlikely.

    Mkhi, lindelof, Shaw, Lingard

That's my personal opinion, whilst accepting Lindelof can still turn into a very good player I just don't see how he would.

I don't know about selling. Mata, Fellaini, Carrick and Ibrahimovic are all out of contract in the summer. They might not all leave I'd be surprised if 3/4 do not. Shaw looks a certain to leave for next to nothing.

The fullback situation is an interesting because our current two main fullbacks (Young and Valencia) are 32 and with obvious weaknesses. Yet it's the younger ones (Darmian or Blind) who are more in peril of being sold because they don't contribute enough.

Personally, I think Jose will want everyone to stay until the summer as I really can't see us signing replacements in January.

It'll be a case of trying to drag us over the line in some shape or other and then rebuild in the summer.

    Leaving:

    Shaw
    Darmian
A CB (not sure who, maybe Smalling as he could command a decent sum)
    Mata or Mkhi

Sell everyone. Clear out all the deadwood.

Then do the exact same thing in two years time.

The glazers can feck right off with their penny pinching. It;s their fault we're in this mess.

Strange, I thought our wage bill might be OK after losing a few high earners recently. Also, taken some on as well I guess, like Pogba

We won't be closing the gap on City anytime soon with tight purse strings

We're in this mess because of absolutely dire decision making from several managers including Jose.

Young, Lindgard, Blind, Smalling, Valencia, are good squad options but need replacements.

    I don't want to see anyone out in January, but next summer;

    1. Shaw - replace with a first choice LB
    2. Darmain - replace with TFM if he does ok at Palace, otherwise buy a Valencia replacement
    3. Lingard
    - we've got to upgrade our right wing, he's a very poor backup
    4. Blind
    - replace with Mitchell
    5. Mata
    - Ozil or another world class 10
    6. Fellaini
    - don't mind if he stays but if he goes, give Periera a chance
    7. Carrick - We need a midfielder who is a deep lying playmaker
    8. Smalling/Jones - Of our 4 CB's who's in the class of stam/vidic/rio? We need 1 player of that calibre and he should come at the expense of our weakest CB.
    9. Mkhitaryan - he's been poor this season, give him 1 more, if not get rid - maybe even Jan '19
    10. Ibra - Lets see how this goes this season, but a part of me is itching to get Celtics Dembele before someone else does.
    11. Valencia - No rush here -but we should upgrade when we can.

The guys in bold i'd like to see us ship off and replace in the summer, the others, maybe the summer after, you can't have too much change in 1 window.

    Penny pinching?

3rd highest net spend in Europe in the last few years and the highest wage bill in the PL.

How exactly is that penny pinching?

Penny pinching??? We have spent a ton of $ over the last few years. I'd place the blame at the feel of the people making the decisions on who to buy as opposed to the Glazers.

lol - just read the BBC article . If we want people to sell in Jan, Shaw, Mata, Lingard, Darmain. Wouldn't miss any of those guys this season.

What a load of nonsense. We will be adding numbers and quality to the club and rightly so. Shaw and Carrick need replacing and on top of that we need another creative midfielder and another winger.

Oh come on, of all the things levelled at the Glazers, penny pinching? The only ones at fault that we are in 'this mess' lies at the managers who have spent a fortune on average players over the last 5 or 6 years.

Fergie was handcuffed with debt repayments and couldn't invest for years. All of this "no value in the market" nonsense saw us replacing Scholes/Rio/Ronaldo with Cleverly/Smalling/Young.

Moyes and LVG were dire in the transfer market but Jose has been largely excellent bar Lindelof who deserves more than a few months.

From when they took over to SAF retirement we had a lower net spend than Stoke. During that time Man City were investing massively in players who they still benefit from today I.E Aguero/Silva/Yaya/Kompany. Same with Madrid, they invested massively in Ronaldo/Bale/Benzema/Modric/Ramos/Marcelo etc and still reap the benefits.

Our squad was so full of mediocre players that the entire team needed to be overhauled, had we been regularly strengthening each summer it wouldn't need to be so drastic but guys like Cleverly/Rafael/Evans/Young/Welbeck are mid table players and Rio/Vidic/Carrick/RVP/Giggs finished.

The Glazers only started to spend when the new TV money started pouring in and our results without SAF fell off a cliff, they've always been a leech on this club and the sooner they're gone the better.

He won't get rid of Mkhi or Lindelof, however hard the Caf might wish it. They are his signings, and he won't want to lose face.

Mata, Blind (not Jose type players), Shaw (disaster), possibly Martial (see Mata/Blind) all seem more likely.

Probably all press bollox, though the rate these stories are emerging is a bit worrying.

If we can do this I would be buzzing.

    Sell:
    LB:
    Luke Shaw
    Sign Danny Rose

    CM: Ander Herrera
    Sign Sergej Milinković-Savić
    Recall Andreas Pereira

Have a go at Mesut Özil as well as he's got 6 months left.

    Probably
    Shaw
    Darmian
    Mata
    Carrick

    Wishlist
    Shaw _ crock.
    Darmian _ not good enough.
    Young _ not good enough.
    Valencia _ can't cross and can't attack.
    Jones _ too injury prone.
    Smalling _ too injury prone.

I know all these players won't be moved on but the sooner they have moved on the better.
There are too many mediocre players in the first 11 some games.

We are really fecked. We are rubbish at selling players anyway but when you look at the fringe players who could leave it's seriously worrying.

Most of them have between 8months and 1year and 8 months left on their deal. Blind, Shaw, Mata, Herrera, Fellaini, Darmian etc we are not getting good money for any of these players.

the Glazer's have spent loads in the last four/five years, whatever you can say about them in the SAF era you really can't accuse them of penny pinching since he left. I'm really not sure what more you could possibly expect. The only two clubs in world football who outspend us now as the 2 oil ones.

Mkhi immediately. Buying someone wouldn't even be a deal breaker for me, just get rid of Mkhi.

Shaw can feck off, Carrick should go, but that's about it. Ideally Mata too as I just don't think he's going to be much use in this team.

So yeah, Mkhi, Shaw and Carrick replaced.

Shaw will surely leave in January. Think Villa want to buy Johnstone too. Hard to see anyone else being sold until the summer.

Mkhitaryan, Mata, Darmian, a CB (money and allows Tuanzebe space to progress). We need to improve all of those positions (apart from CB).

It's a combination of the two, really. Penny-pinching from 2009-13 caused the squad to deteriorate to unacceptable levels. What followed was a period characterised by a mixture of incompetency, desperation and panic buying from 2013-16. I think we've recruited fairly well since Mourinho came in, but it seems that mid-way through last summer Florida decided to turn off the taps to prevent the costs spiralling and we're now back in 'sell-to-buy' mode.

We also now appear to have a manager and chief exec who are happy briefing against each other.

Are you going to completely ignore the spending under SAF and not recognise a large reason we're in this mess is because of that? Mourinho has been excellent in the transfer market so far and if you expect him to compete with City then you have to fund moves for players on the same level as Aguero/Silva/KDB.

I'd be willing to give myki another season if this one doesn't work out for him as he Did ok last season.
It is a case of one step forward, two back with him this season though which is annoying.

I hope this is true and Jose starts selling players. He has offered far too much leeway to some players and have overrated mediocre talents like Fellaini and Young. I hope Shaw is sent on loan. Maybe next summer he can go all out in selling many players. Darmian, Mata(love him as a person), Young, even I would say Smalling. It's sad he will never sell Fellaini and with him Jose will always be inclined ot put him and we start lumping the ball around without playing proper football when chasing a goal.

If it prevents him from buying the likes of Lindelof then it's not all bad.

He should be getting a hell of a lot more out of the talent already at his disposal - including the £30 million left back he's actively sought to throw in the bin. Give him a shot, at least.

Mourinho has been backed extensively and the club's stance (if true) is reasonable at this point.

You're right that the penny pinching from 2009 through to the following few seasons left the squad in a state. But we've had 3 or 4 years of massive spending which, if it had been done right, would've left us with a much stronger squad. We've spent a fortune, and how many world class players do we have? 1 for certain in De Gea and one debatable one in Pogba. The recruitment has been shocking (less so by Jose than LVG and Moyes). Our spending, without digging out the figures, is probably comparative to City over the past few years, and the difference in quality is astounding.

Mkihtaryn, Shaw and Mata need to go. Bring in Griezmann and a top Quality LB and go all out for Sanchez. That would be a start.

We can't afford to move out the likes of a Herrera, Fellaini, Mata or Mkhitaryan in a January window without a proper replacement. We're 1-2 injuries away from being reliant on any of those players. Jesse loves his cup games so I'd keep him around until summer.
I would not be upset if we sold Shaw and one of Darmian or Young in January. Anyone else should wait until the summer.

In the summer window we need to be looking at 4-5 players minimum and I wouldn't be upset if one of Smalling or Jones were sold, along with any of Valencia, Young, Darmian, Mata, Mkhitaryan, Fellaini, Herrera, or Lingard.

We're also going to lose Carrick and Zlatan which is okay since neither have featured this season.

fecking leeches our owners. Sell before you buy for the biggest club in the world, shameful by any standards. We will fall even more behind than now till the time these idiots are our owners. It is clear we did not buy another player because we did not have the money in the summer. For all the claims about the money we have by woodward this is embarrassing.
