We haven't heard the injuries excuse lately as it's been all about "luck" right now but can that please stop? We have a few chances right on our plate and couldn't put them away today. The referee has been extremely favorable towards us all game as well.

There is no bad luck here. Just terrible tactics and/or players

Always amuses me when posters use the "game raising" thing. As if a team like Newcastle would try harder against us than a team they think they have a better chance of beating.

    Awful performance.

God knows how much spent, still bang on average.

Mourinho needs to go if we finish outside of the top 4 which is a real fecking possibility. What a joke of a team

Are many people complaining about luck? I haven’t seen much of it. Everyone’s just saying we are shit

I'd love to know why we're so slow and seem to unable to get out of 1st gear the majority of the time. We are tactically so flawed.

Wasn't really down to luck. We just weren't good enough today.

The only excuse is that we are fecking shit.

Absolutely sick and tired of the rubbish that plays for United.

They can’t even do the basics. We couldn’t build any rhythm or momentum because we have clowns who can control or pass a ball properly.

If anything, we're lucky to be second. Spurs and Liverpool are better teams than us. I think we'll eventually finish top four but either third or fourth.

I think a few of them are cowars, content with doing just about enough. When that doesn't work they don't know how to react..

And yet we sit above them both. They clearly aren’t as good as you think they are.

You are aware of how the league table works right? You go up and down. Sitting above them by a few points with 11 games to go doesn’t mean shit. We’re on a downward spiral, Spurs on the other hand are on the up.

You can see the difference in desire to get the ball between Sanchez and Martial and Lukaku. And I think Lukaku had a good game today but he’s content to hide behind defenders when we’re attacking. The less said about Martial’s desire the better.

I am. And we’ve sat above them all season. Including the ups and downs.

Not sure if we were unlucky to lose the game, but Newcastle didn't deserve their win. They scored with pretty much their only opportunity, whilst we squandered a multitude of our own.

Pogba was carrying a knock and should never have started. Jose needs to explain firsly why he started him when he clearly was not fit and secondly why it took him over an hour to take him off.

My favourite excuse is the one that all teams raise their game against us.

Just like Chelsea were above both all season. Up until last week.

And that means Chelsea was better than them up until last week. It really isn't that hard.

Agree. We had luck with injures lately so that is not an excuse.

We are second in the league. How is that bang average, literally?

You’re a bit simple, aren’t you? So while Chelsea were getting bummed 3-0 by Bournemouth, Spurs were still worse than them even though they beat United and Arsenal and drew against Liverpool, dominating all three. Yeah, sure.

Fecking hate this excuse of our league ranking. It’s blatantly obvious to most people that Spurs are a better team than us. Just because we’re a few points ahead of them with 11 to go, doesn’t mean anything.

We finished 6th last season but imo we were better than Arsenal. The only reason we finished behind them was because we gave up on the league for the Europa.

It's ridiculous. Newcastle are allowed to play as well or as badly as they like, it's up to us to be better than them. As you suggest what kind of relegation candidate tries harder against top four teams than they do against their fellow strugglers?

And will be above Spurs again if they win tomorrow. Maybe Spurs aren’t that great either.

You make your own luck by scoring more than the opposition. Simple as that.

Newcastle were actually really poor and there for the taking it was all about our incompetence and impotence.

Dysfunctional line up. Lack of passion and energy. Brainless players. Pogba and Matic. Why? Injured? Lukaku - no more excuses. I’m sorry to say this but Valencia is past it. One of my favorites but I’m not blind. Phil Jones must go, now. Negative and lazy. Smalling lack basic football intelligence. Lingard?

How in the fecking hell can we and up with Carrick, McTominay and 46 kg Mata in the midfield. WTF is wrong Mourinho?
