    Absolute madness

Well played Madrid their selfishness could have just fecked the whole of Spain.

I’ve backed Spain as well....no chance now.

    Zidane even a bigger legend.

These are Madrid’s dirty tactics. He left on top before they could get to him.

I love it. I will love it even more when Real Madrid faces all the scrutiny from the media. I will love it even more when things will go bad for this Spain side.

    Chaos is a ladder.

What the feck! Absolutely insane by the Spanish FA! LvG announced he was going to United before the 2014 WC as well right? What effect should it have on the team that sacking him is a better option?!

    Sam Allardyce to the rescue!

All jokes aside, this is the worse decision I've ever seen from a NT. So what if he's leaving after the World Cup? I don't see the big deal.

Pep's chance to manage Spain now, if City would allow it.

Why do they view him being announced as Madrid coach after the WC as such a serious issue?

Apparently they found out he was the next Madrid manager a few minutes before it was announced at the press-conference.

Marca are claiming that the players have talked the head of the Spanish FA out of sacking him.

Benitez is a good shout but I am not sure how well liked he is by the players?

Must have been player pressure. Probably refused to play for him so left with no choice.

Absolutely crazy. You're gonna lose him after the tournament and all preparation are already in place, why sack him instead of letting him leave after?

    Del Bosque to the rescue?

Complete and utter mess. The mighty Real Madrid show they are too big to turn down, even bigger than a nation. Lets see how this will all pan out, Florentino Perez has a lot to answer for if Spain are embarrassed in the WC.

Fair play in my opinion. If he's been approached without permission then fairs fair.

Still amazing they went through with the decision.

What a shambles from both Madrid and from the Spanish FA.

This could become ugly for both Spain, and ultimately for Madrid if their season doesnt go well.

Has to be a Del Bosque emergency right?

Well this has turned into a great big mess  I don’t see the big deal though, even if this was announced on short notice, him joining real after the World Cup shouldn’t have any influence on his job in the World Cup

I would say he should be the choice.

In the situation he is probably the best choice. Done it all in the past, will have the respect of the team, knows them well. Seems Logical

Rafa in? Spain to win the world cup?

I guess Lopetegui didn't check with the Spanish FA before taking the job? Real lack of respect if that's the case.

Can't see him doing to well at RM either, his appointment does seem like they got a fall guy. Poch will get offered the job in the next couple of years.
