Well I liked his face on Saturday when he scored. He got a bit carried away with Giggsy's pass - 'Everyone look at him. "You! You!"'

I'm not sure Giggs' pass was all that amazing, it was more of a tribute to Giggs in general.

Nice touch all the same, I thought.

If this wasn't about Berbatov, who has to be constantly defended, many more would find this funny.

Its a very old joke, been done a million times for a certain F1 driver for one, and no doubt other people too.

The first one isn't particularly funny, the second one is funny but not hilarious.

What the feck that point Berbatov about "needing to be constantly defended" has to do with the humour in those photos is anyone's guess.

Has anyone "defended" him in this thread?

    I'd agree with that.

Although I don't think I'e ever bought any other fanzine, so I'm probably not best qualified to comment!

It is usually very good though, albiet slightly hit and miss.

In a way, he's a bit like Roger Federer. Showing least emotions in matches can be really a good thing in most times. We will start to profit greatly from his coolness one day. I hope so anyway.

In my opinion, that was Fletcher's goal. He was the one who opened up Stoke.

If anything, it pokes fun at the people who say he is lazy, moody, uninterested etc etc.

Definitely the best pass in the move.

I've no problem with Giggsy getting props he doesn't necessarily deserve though.

Are you usually this angry and sad?

My guess would be that had it been Giggsy most would have seen the funny side of it. But Berbatov is one of those controversial figures at whom a lot of criticism is anyway thrown and in return a lot of defending, from me included, so it's looked at in a different way (surely you're smart enough to figure out how).

Anyhoo i was wrong. Apparently the jokes been done before so that was the reason.

True, but the reason why Giggs got so much credit for that was because:

    a) He was a brought on as a substitute. And when a sub does create a goal, he tends to get a lot more focus.

    b) He made a run in behind the fullback that Valencia and Nani just weren't looking like making all game. It was an injection of movement and intelligence that, frankly, we needed. We were going through the same patterns all game with Nani running at fullbacks and wasting the ball, and Valencia beating his man and trying to put a cross in. It wasn't working and we needed our wide players do be doing more to get the better of the fullbacks. Giggs did that. So both players were equally important to the goal.

Definitely gone more high-brow recently. A clear Private Eye influence going on!

I like United We Stand too, but I think RI is much better written.

Haven't come across that one. Will keep an eye out for it. Is it as easy to get hold off as RI?

    Angry and sad?

    I'm neither, thanks.

Just reacting to a pointless comment by pointing out how pointless it was.

    That's a bit disingenuous Pogue.

It was a great pass through the legs of the defender to pick him out.

His first few touches of the ball I believe.

It's too anit-united for my liking.

Fair enough be anti-glazer but I stopped reading it last season when it was full of shit crtitising the players and stuff. I remember Giggs, Rooney and Rio being reigned in on.

I thought this isn't funny anymore it's slightly obsessive and a bit disturbing.

I've only ever had a quick flick through yours since.

You come across very much so, with the desperate need to factor in abusive language in a relatively mild threat.

Everything that goes against the realms of your imagination seems to be pointless to you. Well done.

The point is, Nani would have tried to score (and skied it) instead of just playing a simple square ball. Berbatov was probably just chuffed that he'd finally received a decent pass.

It's in plenty of news-agents in the town centre, and on sale around the ground. So yes.

I dont think this is true. However, I'm not sure Nani would have had the confidence in his left peg to play the ball first time like Giggs did. That was never going to be the case for a left footer. Really Giggs' pass wasnt that great, it was more about his general movement to get into that position in the first place.

I've never really understood a fanzine that strives to denigrate the players and officials of their own club at every turn.

I think it was the run and pass, the whole movement and play of Giggs. Made it all look very simple. Nani hadn't got close to doing that once all day. He just makes it look so easy. Was exceptional stuff, and it made all the difference on the day. Was an easy pass for Fletcher to make, and an easy finish for Berbatov. That's the magic of Giggsy

Some of our officials deserve denigrating at every turn.

But its unfair to say thats what they to to our players.

Remember, fanzines are written by fans. Like people on a United forum, they are only saying what other fans are saying or thinking.

They wont have a pop at a player if hes been playing brilliantly.

Sometimes in RI, you get two contributors providing completely different points of view on the same player.
